Your Freeview TV gets new channel and a trio of changes in latest shake-up
Freeview is refreshing things and here's what's new.
If you have Freeview-powered TV in your living room it's time to check the settings. The popular free-to-view service has just confirmed a number of changes including the launch of a new channel and some updates to the planner.
"On 21 May 2025 some broadcasters are making changes to their channels," Freeview explained.
First, there's that new channel with Freeview announcing that High Street TV is finally coming to its platform. This shopping service has been available on Sky and Virgin Media for a while with it offering shopaholics the chance to buy products 24 hours a day.
"High Street TV is truly multi-channel – we provide the opportunity for customers to purchase our products whenever and wherever most convenient to them," the service explained.
You'll find High Street TV on channel 95.
That new service isn't the only upgrade. It's also been revealed that three current channels are getting a name change.
That means That's Dance (Ch 76) will switch to That's Pride. That's Oldies (Ch 78) changes to That's Summer and That's Dance MCR (Ch 79) is now called That's Pride MCR.
If you want all the new updates on your telly, then you may need to update it.
"You will need to retune to update your TV and keep your channels and TV Guide up to date," Freeview added.
Here's how to retune your devices.
• Press menu on your box or TV remote control
• Select 'set-up', 'installation', 'update' or a similar option. If you're asked for a password, the default code is '1234' or '0000'.
• Select 'first-time installation' (sometimes called 'factory reset', 'full retune' or 'default settings').
•Press 'OK' if your equipment asks if it's OK to delete existing channels and then your retune should start automatically. If you're prompted to, save the channels that are found.

Sky and BT are the two dominant broadband providers in the UK, offering extensive connectivity to most areas of the country at some of the most competitive prices. If you are considering switching your broadband to save money there are a few things you need to weigh up between the two providers and we have some advice on how to find the best option for you. The terminology is simple. Ultrafast broadband is the same as Full Fibre broadband and both are names for something called Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) broadband. Faster speeds can be found for £31 (500mb/s) and Sky's top speed broadband is 900mb/s and costs £42 per month. If you are happier with slightly slower speeds Sky offers lower prices right up to (but not including) the 900mb/s package. However, BT's faster speeds actually offer better value for money than Sky. WNBA player Courtney Vandersloot scores ultimate victory over her wife (and teammate!)
Chicago Sky guard Courtney Vandersloot set a record on Thursday night - at the expense of her wife and longtime teammate. Vandersloot, who tallied 13 points and nine assists in a win against the Dallas Wings, became Chicago's all-time leader in points (3,728) and field goals (1,390). And the previous record holder was none other than her wife, Allie Quigley, who spent 10 seasons with Chicago from 2013 to 2022 - her last year in the WNBA. Vandersloot has also spent the majority of her career with the Sky after being drafted by the franchise in 2011. The now five-time All-Star spent the first 12 seasons of her career in the Midwest before joining the Liberty for two seasons. She re-joined the Sky in February.
