The Canada-based B Corp. company has tapped the Brutalist actor to debut its new aluminum luggage collection ($665 to $775) in a cinematic campaign video shot in Tangier. Shot by Mexico City-based filmmaker and photographer Alexis Gómez, the campaign highlights Monos' new hardshell carry-on, medium and large check-in and trunk suitcases in Aspen Silver, Champagne Gold and Caviar Black.
Titled Kismet, the three-minute film opens with Brody daydreaming on a train — a bit of a throwback to his rail-riding character in Wes Anderson's Darjeeling Limited — before exploring the streets of the coastal Mediterranean city, where he encounters surprising and 'connected' moments.
'Growing up in New York — a city full of diversity and unexpected encounters — ignited a thirst for adventure,' Brody says in a statement. 'I often find myself on location in different places while working on films, which is exciting; I love to explore, to travel, to get lost and find my way. Traveling reminds me that borders are irrelevant, no matter how different cultures or people may seem, we're all just people living our unique stories.'
Monos' new luggage is made from anodized and electroplated aluminum 'with a refined brush finish' and designed to 'develop a patina over time,' per the brand. Each piece is finished with black quilted taffeta lining, a compression system with a removable interior bag, TSA-friendly latch locks, a telescoping handle with four height settings, a soft-release side handle and 360-degree spinner wheels. The aluminum suitcases also include an anti-microbial laundry bag and two shoe bags.
The new range marks Monos' first all-aluminum offerings; it most recently teamed with influencer Julie Sariñana and Magnolia Bakery on special edition colorways. The company is known for its hybrid aluminum and polycarbonate travel cases under $500. The brand offers a 100-day trial and a limited lifetime warranty on all luggage.
The 51-year-old actor won his second Academy Award for best actor for his role in The Brutalist, in which he plays an architect who survives the Holocaust and flees to America. He won his first Oscar for his role in Roman Polanski's The Pianist, which made him the youngest to take home a trophy in that category at that time.

LA stars react to Trump's migrant crackdown
As President Donald Trump's military-backed crackdown on immigrants continues in Los Angeles and across the US, celebrities are speaking out against the tactics and what they say are the intolerant views driving them. Some pointed to the gulf between Trump's apocalyptic descriptions of a city in flames and the reality of a vast and diverse metropolis where largely peaceful protests are limited to a small part of downtown. Here's what the glitterati had to say: - 'We have to speak up' - Many celebrities touched on the disconnect between Trump's claims about arresting dangerous criminals and raids that appear to be targeting day laborers and factory workers. "When we're told that ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) exists to keep our country safe and remove violent criminals -- great," LA native and reality star Kim Kardashian wrote on social media. "But when we witness innocent, hardworking people being ripped from their families in inhumane ways, we have to speak up." The billionaire behind Skims underwear added: "Growing up in LA, I've seen how deeply immigrants are woven into the fabric of this city. They are our neighbors, friends, classmates, coworkers and family. "No matter where you fall politically, it's clear that our communities thrive because of the contributions of immigrants." "We all deserve to live in hope and not fear" - 'Not an apocalypse' - Late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel gave a blistering 12-minute monologue from his studio in the heart of Hollywood, opening with footage of tourists enjoying the nearby attractions and a movie premiere. "Not only is it not an apocalypse, they're having a Disney/Pixar movie premiere right now for 'Elio', a movie about aliens -- don't tell Trump, he'll send the Green Berets in, too," the comedian said. DFW Airport gears up for 2026 World Cup travel rush
The Brief DFW Airport is preparing for the 2026 World Cup with new efficiency software and reduced wait times. American Airlines, a FIFA sponsor, plans its largest-ever schedule to transport fans to host cities. Travel experts advise booking flights and hotels soon, as availability is decreasing and cancellation policies may be stricter. Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport is typically busy during the summer travel season, so you can imagine how congested it will be during the World Cup. The airport and its major airlines are already planning for the event. What they're saying DFW airport CEO, Chris McLaughlin, is doing all he can to prepare for what is to come next summer. "All eyes will be on this region for the World Cup, and we're doing all we can to make sure we're prepared for it." DFW Airport's new efficiencies include the rollout of new Enhanced Passenger Processing software at passport control in Terminal D. It allows U.S. citizens to get through the checkpoint quicker. Wait times at DFW airport have now decreased by 25%. Fort Worth-based American Airlines is the official sponsor airline for FIFA. American Airlines Senior Vice President, Jim Moses, says they're ready to transport soccer fans to DFW and other host cities come this time next year. "This summer alone we're operating our largest schedule in our history, through DFW Airport, and that only looks to increase," said Moses. Dig deeper Travel expert Gabe Saglie can't contain his own excitement for the 2026 World Cup. "I might see you out there. I was looking at hotels, and I'm like none of these hotels in the downtown Dallas area have availability," said Saglie. Like many soccer fans, Saglie is already planning out his itinerary and suggests other FIFA fans do the same, sooner rather than later. "We're getting to a period where some of those flights will become available. I think a lot of hotels are currently blocking some of the rooms out. So, if you try to get a hotel room for that mid-June to mid-July period, you'll see that a lot of these dates aren't available. And I think hotels are holding out at this point." When it comes to booking flights or hotels for the World Cup this far out, Saglie recommends setting price alerts with your preferred travel website so you can compare prices and deals. The same advice applies to non-soccer fans who may find themselves in North Texas next June. "Most of the availability is around these vacation rentals. Rates are between $700 to $1,000 a night," said Saglie. "I mean they could drop. I wouldn't necessarily nail anything down. The other thing to keep in mind is for folks who are booking hotels, who are looking for vacation rentals. To be very cognizant of some of the restrictions that exist around rooms for dates around these major events." Why you should care To that point, Saglie says cancellation polices may be more restrictive during that time because of demand for lodging during the World Cup. So Saglie recommends you look into travel insurance as an option, in case your travel plans get derailed. Oscar-winner Zoe Saldaña told People Magazine Tuesday night that her Academy Award uses "they/them" pronouns. "We have it in my office and my Oscar is gender-fluid," Saldaña said, adding that she considers the statuette to be "trans." Earlier this year, the 46-year-old "Guardians of the Galaxy" actress won her first Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in the controversial musical-drama "Emilia Pérez." The film followed a Mexican cartel leader who seeks a gender-transition operation to escape his cartel past.
