Woad leads Korda at Scottish Open as Lee slips back
World No.5 Lee was lying joint-third after a steady first-round 68, but a score of 74 on Friday saw her slump down the order to join a group of nine players sharing 29th place on two under at Dundonald Links in Ayrshire.
Fellow Australian Cassie Porter carded a second consecutive round of 70 and stands two shots above Lee on four under, but eight shots behind leader Wood.
Woad, 21, carded a 7-under 65 on Friday to move to 12-under. She was the No.1 amateur in the world before turning pro after a tied third finish at the Evian Championship two weeks ago.
Korda and Denmark's Nanna Koerstz Madsen both shot 66 in the second round and are tied for second at 10-under.
Sei Young Kim (67) is in solo fourth at 9-under and fellow South Korean Hyo Joo Kim (66) is another shot back in solo fifth.
Woad collected seven birdies during a clean round, including birdies at all four par-5 holes.
"Bogey-free is always nice," Woad said. "Hit a lot of greens ... a lot of fairways, and then holed a few nice putts."
Woad's remarkable month began with a six-shot victory at the Women's Irish Open, which made her the first amateur to win on the Ladies European Tour since 2022. She finished 13-under at the Evian Championship the following week, one shot behind winner Grace Kim.
Woad played the first two rounds with Korda, whose round Friday featured seven birdies and one bogey at the par-5 18th hole.
Korda is still looking for her first win of the season, which includes a T2 at the US Women's Open, as players ramp up for next week's British Women's Open at Royal Porthcawl in Wales.
"I started out strong with two birdies on my first two holes, and then the wind kind of died down throughout the day, so capitalised on the weather," Korda said.
Defending champion Lauren Coughlin (70) is part of a seven-way tie for 12th at 4-under.
First-round leader Charlotte Laffar of England plummeted into a tie for 91st place and missed the cut after a 10-over 82 on Friday.

But the Dane rallied with three straight birdies and a couple of par saves for a 67. She was two shots behind, along with Sei Young Kim (66), who made a long eagle putt on the 14th and got up-and-down for birdie on the par-5 closing hole to get within two shots. Nelly Korda played bogey-free, but the American managed only two birdies on another relatively calm day by Scottish standards. Her 70 left her five shots behind Woad, who already has had a golden summer in Europe. Woad, who won the Augusta National Women's Amateur in 2024 and rose to No.1 in the women's amateur ranking that year, won the Irish Women's Open three weeks ago on the Ladies European Tour. Then she missed the play-off by one shot in the Evian Championship. But her tie for third in the LPGA major earned her a tour card, and she decided to skip her senior year at Florida State and turn pro. And now she has a chance to win in her debut. "That's the aim, to shoot as low as possible and keep giving myself chances," Woad said. "If someone shoots lights out, fair enough. I'm excited for the opportunity. I've got the experience and I'll try to use that." Finals beckon, but Suns keep their Witts about them
Jarrod Witts' rucking wares are being heralded as All-Australian worthy, while Gold Coast, in reach of a top-four finish, keep their feet in new AFL territory. The Suns' historic 66-point QClash victory on Saturday gave them, with five regular-season games to play, a club-best 12th win this season. Four of those games come against teams not in finals contention, leaving the Suns in the hunt for a top-four finish in what would be their maiden post-season foray. Piastri rues 'disappointing' error as Norris takes pole
Australia's Oscar Piastri has been left regretting a qualifying slip that has helped put McLaren teammate and world championship arch-rival Lando Norris on pole for the Belgian Grand Prix. The pair are gearing up for another classic wet weather battle after the dominating qualifying at Spa-Francorchamps. Norris set the fastest time early on in the final session on Saturday to grab pole position for Sunday's race. Piastri could not quite beat it on his final run, finishing 0.085 seconds behind his British teammate. Piastri has a nine-point lead at the top of the world championship standings but is under increasingly intense pressure from in-form Norris, who is aiming for his third straight grand prix race victory. Piastri had been quickest in Friday practice and sprint qualifying but found Norris had stepped things up the following day. Piastri said: "The second lap was coming together really well and I just made a little mistake in (turn) 14. It is fine margins out there. "Not a bad place to be starting, but there was more in it so that is disappointing." Norris said: "The car has been been flying all weekend, Oscar has been doing a good job all weekend, so we're pushing each other a lot. "It's tough because you see where your strengths and weaknesses are easily and you learn from each other quickly. It's a good but tough battle that we have at the minute." Rain is forecast for Sunday, raising the prospect of another wet-weather shoot-out between the two McLarens after Norris came out on top in a thriller at his home race at Silverstone last time out. Norris said it could be a "Silverstone-esque" race, hinting at difficult driving conditions and possible chaos if parts of the circuit, the longest on the F1 calendar, get a drenching while other sections remain dry. Piastri took seven points and Norris six from the sprint, meaning the Australian extended his overall lead from eight to nine points over his team-mate heading into Sunday.
