Pawan holds Maata-Manthi with Ravivalasa villagers
Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan interacted with residents of Ravivalasa village in the Tekkali constituency of Srikakulam district on Thursday as part of Maata-Manthi (a conversation), an initiative by the Panchayat Raj & Rural Development (PR&RD) Department aimed at involving citizens in the development of villages and understanding their issues firsthand.
In a message on 'X,' 'Maata-Manthi-a New Era in Participatory Rural Development. Technology has united the world in a global village where miles could be reached in moments and conversations flow effortlessly. With the intention of directly involving citizens in the development of villages and understanding their issues firsthand.'
The villagers of Ravivalasa were brought to a theatre in Tekkali. Through a live video conference from the Camp Office, Mr. Kalyan interacted with them and heard their concerns, suggestions, and developmental needs .
Mr. Kalyan said, 'Issues that could be resolved immediately were addressed with the officials present. Required approvals were given instantly. For matters that require more time, the respective departments were requested to take them up with defined timelines for execution'.
Mr. Kalyan further added that he was deeply moved by the enthusiasm and clarity with which the people of Ravivalasa came forward to convey their hopes and concerns. He said: 'I observed that the people did not just speak but took ownership of the future of their village, reflecting the true spirit of democracy.'
The Deputy Chief Minister asserted that the Maata-Manthi initiative was not just a programme but a step forward in realising the vision of Grameen Bharat Mahotsav 2025 envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, wherein the voice of every village is heard and respected.
Mr. Kalyan thanked Agriculture Minister and Tekkali MLA K. Atchannaidu, officials of the PR&RD and Rural Water Supply Departments, and the people of Ravivalasa for making the effort meaningful.

Andhra increases maximum working hours from 9 to 10 to attract investments
The TDP-led NDA government in Andhra Pradesh has decided to raise the maximum working hours from nine to 10 per day as part of ease of doing business and attracting investors. The Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Minister K Parthasarathy said that it has been decided to amend labour laws to make them 'favourable' to workers and investors. CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna criticised the move and said NDA governments at the Centre and state are pursuing 'anti worker' policies. "Section 54 which allows maximum nine hours of work a day has now been raised to 10 hours per day. Under Section 55 there used to be one hour rest for five hours (work) now that has been changed to six hours," said Parthasarathy recently, elaborating on the decisions made by the cabinet to amend labour laws. Earlier, Parthasarathy noted that overtime was allowed only up to 75 hours which now has been extended up to 144 hours per quarter. "Because of this (amendments to labour laws), investors in factories will (come to our state). These labour rules will be favourable for labourers and they will come to invest more. Globalisation is happening in every state. These amendments were brought to implement global rules," said Parthasarathy. Further, the minister observed that the cabinet has also relaxed night shift rules to enable more women to work in the night shifts. According to the I&PR Minister, women were not allowed to work in the night shifts earlier but now they can work with safeguards such as consent, transport facility, security and surveillance. He said the workplace of women during night shifts should be fully illuminated. "When you work extra, income will increase. By these rules women can work in the formal sector. They empower women economically and promote gender inclusion and industrial growth. Also contribute to women's empowerment," he said. Meanwhile, K Ramakrishna, State Secretary of CPI, opposed the NDA alliance government's stand on labour laws amendments. He alleged that the Central and state governments are working against the interests of workers. "For the past 11 years, the Modi government has repeatedly taken measures that infringe upon workers' rights in India," Ramakrishan told PTI on Saturday. To oppose these rules, he said trade unions have decided to protest on July 9 all over India, adding that all sections will participate in this protest actively. Further, he observed that the NDA governments both at the Centre and in the state are pursuing 'anti-worker policies'.

AP showcases investment potential in electronics manufacturing
Tirupati: Andhra Pradesh is fast emerging as a prime destination for investments and industrial growth, especially in the electronics manufacturing sector. The Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) and Andhra Pradesh Electronics Component Manufacturing Policy draft workshop in Tirupati held on Thursday was aimed at giving a further boost to this sector. The one-day workshop was jointly organised by the IT, Electronics & Communications (ITE&C) Department, AP Economic Development Board, and the India Cellular and Electronics Association. The workshop saw participation from key dignitaries including Sushil Pal, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and IT, who stated that the Government of India is actively promoting electronics component manufacturing through Production Linked Incentives (PLI) and other incentives. He lauded AP's proactive efforts and underlined the strong demand for electronics components in the market. Speaking at the event, Secretary of ITE&C Bhaskar Katamneni highlighted that the state government under the leadership of the Chief Minister is committed not only to 'Ease of Doing Business' but also to 'Speed of Doing Business.' He emphasised the abundant opportunities in the state for setting up industries and expressed confidence that Andhra Pradesh is crafting a more competitive and investor-friendly electronics policy compared to the Central Government's framework. Bhaskar revealed that the state is aiming to localise production of electronic components, which are currently being imported, and is formulating a forward-looking policy to attract manufacturers. Plans are already underway to establish 25 percent of these units in the southern Rayalaseema region. Tirupati EMC-2 cluster and the Kopparthy EMC are being positioned as key hubs for this expansion. Highlighting the state's industrial readiness, he mentioned Sri City, where more than 200 industries are operational and contributing to significant employment. Andhra Pradesh boasts superior infrastructure with robust road, rail, airport, and port connectivity. Reaffirming the state's commitment to transparency and technological governance, he said Andhra Pradesh is leveraging AI, IoT, drones, and WhatsApp governance for effective administration. As the state works toward its Vision 2047 goal of becoming a $2.4 trillion economy, it aims to harness not just IT but a range of industrial sectors to meet national targets.

Cabinet nod to clear 2 DAs
Hyderabad: The state Cabinet has on Thursday approved the long-pending demands of the government employees which included the release of two instalments of dearness allowance (DA) this year. It also decided to expedite the construction of rural roads under HAM (hybrid annuity model) and the expansion of the Metro Rail in the greater Hyderabad limits. During the six-hour-long Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and his Cabinet colleagues discussed extensively the employees' demands and took a slew of decisions. Briefing the media after the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said the government would release one DA amount immediately to the government staff and another one would be released after six months due to financial constraints. The demand for the creation of a trust to provide medical care to all the employees with equal contribution of insurance amount by the employees and the government was accepted. The Chief Secretary will be the chairman of the healthcare trust. The Cabinet also decided to pay the pending bills, including the benefit to the retired employees. As much as Rs 700 crore will be spent on the release of pending bills every month. Ban on recruitment of retired employees on a contract basis, fast clearance of the compassionate appointments, grading the posts of the Panchayat secretaries, establishment of nursing directorate, Rs 2 lakh retirement benefits to the Anganwadi workers and clearing all pending hired vehicle bills were among other decisions that were taken in the Cabinet meeting. To improve the connectivity for public transportation, Information and Public Relations Minister P Srinivasa Reddy said that the Cabinet approved new metro line corridors mainly- Shamshabad to Future City (39 km), Jubilee Bus Station- Medchal (25 Km) and Jubilee Bus Station to Shamirpet (22 km). The estimated cost of the new metro line networks for 86 km was Rs 19,579 crore and it would be taken up jointly by the state and Union governments, the minister said, adding that the BJP MPs and Union ministers should also pursue the issue with the Centre and get approvals without any delay. The Cabinet ratified the development of R & B roads and Panchayat Raj roads under the HAM model. The R & B will develop a 5,100 km road network and the Panchayat Raj will improve the road network on a 7,900-km stretch. All the proposed road development projects will be completed in two years and the agency, which will take up the roads, will be entrusted with the responsibility of maintenance of the roads for 15 years. The Earth Science University in Kothagudem district would be named after former prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the minister said, adding that the Cabinet decided to pay an insurance amount of Rs 10 lakh to the members of self-help groups in case of deaths.
