Kim Kardashian Eyed to Star in "Bratz" Movie

Yara Sameh
Kim Kardashian is being eyed to play the villain in Amazon MGM's 'Bratz' movie.
The tech giant won a bidding war for rights to the live-action film about the popular children's toy in hopes of backing the next 'Barbie.'
Additional details about the plot and cast have yet to be revealed.
Charlie Polinger and Lucy McKendrick are writing the script, while Erik Feig and Julia Hammer for Picturestart, Kardashian, and Jason Larian and Jasmin Larian for MGA Entertainment are on board to produce. MGA's Isaac Larian will executive produce.
Ever since 'Barbie' took the world by storm and became 2023's highest-grossing film with $1.44 billion, Hollywood has been developing all kinds of children's toys for the big screen.
Film versions of Hot Wheels, Barney, Polly Pocket and Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots are currently in the works across various studios and production companies.
Bratz dolls were founded in 2001 by Carter Bryant, a former Mattel employee, and were launched by MGA Entertainment.
Bratz has sold more than 200 million dolls since 2001 and has the highest social media engagement across all platforms of any toy brand, according to Amazon MGM. However, it's unclear if that'll translate into blockbuster ticket sales.
Bratz has been the subject of Lionsgate's 2005 live-action movie, which flopped at the box office, as well as several TV series and video games.
Kardashian is the star of 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' and businesswoman behind the loungewear company Skims.
She's been focusing on the world of scripted entertainment, recently starring in 'American Horror Story' alongside Emma Roberts and voicing characters in two 'PAW Patrol' movies.
On the horizon, she'll lead the Netflix comedy 'The Fifth Wheel' from director Eva Longoria and will appear in Ryan Murphy's new drama 'All Is Fair.'

Rakeen Saad Replaces Yasmin Raeis in TV Series "Qtl Ikhtiyari"

Yara Sameh After a year of hindered production, the TV series "Qtl Ikhtiyari" ("Optional Killing") is getting a fresh start, but this time, with major changes. Egyptian actress Yasmin Raeis has dropped from the project and has been replaced by Jordanian actress Rakeen Saad. The drama was originally scheduled to debut during the 2024 Ramadan drama marathon, but production issues halted filming from starting on schedule, putting the project on hold for a long period. With the delay, Raeis decided to exit the series, especially given her busy schedule with new projects in film and television. Sources within the production team say the production company was able to overcome the financial crisis that had disrupted filming, and a decision was made to debut the project outside of the Ramadan drama marathon, with significant changes to the number of episodes and the technical crew. The show's creators also altered the series' episodes from 15 to 30. "Qtl Ikhtiyari" is written by Amin Gamal and directed by Mohamed Bakir. Principal photography is set to begin in the coming weeks. Saad was last seen next in Egyptian actor Asser Yassin's Netflix TV series "Mawid Maa Elmady" (Echoes of The Past). The cast also includes Shereen Reda, Mahmoud Hamida, Saba Mubarak, Huda El Mufti, Sherif Salama, Mohamed Alaa, Mohamed Tharwat, Tamer Nabil, and more. Produced by Charisma Group with executive producer Mohammad Mashish, the adaptation hails from scriptwriter Mohamed Al Masry and director Al Sadeer Massoud. "Mawid Maa Elmady" consists of 8 episodes and is based on the Mexican thriller series "Quién mató a Sara?" (Who Killed Sara? in English). The show ran for three seasons from March 2021 to May 2022 and follows Manolo Cardona as Álex, who was framed for the murder of his sister Sara. Now he's out of prison he's on the hunt for revenge, as he tries to uncover the mystery of what happened. 'Mawid Maa Elmady' delves deep into the emotional and psychological turmoil of Yehia, whose life was torn apart by the murder of his sister, Nadia. "After being wrongly convicted of her death and facing 15 years behind bars, Yahia's release is followed by a burning desire for revenge, where he will stop at nothing to find Nadia's real killer. His return sees old family wounds reopened, long-buried secrets come to life, and the reality that the truth never stays hidden forever," according to the official synopsis. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean

New "Friday the 13th" Vignette "Sweet Revenge" in Development from Filmmaker Mike P. Nelson

Yara Sameh Jason Voorhees' next story is set to be told by filmmaker Mike P. Nelson. Produced by 'Friday the 13th' franchise owner Horror, Inc., the new Jason Universe project is a bloody short-form vignette titled 'Sweet Revenge' and it's set as 'the centerpiece of the franchise's bold 45th anniversary campaign.' Per the description for 'Sweet Revenge,' 'fans will drop into a chilling weekend in the woods filled with blood-soaked surprises only Jason can deliver.' Nelson is writing, directing and producing through his Rockford Road Pictures banner. Production on 'Sweet Revenge' began earlier this month. The project is set to debut on both the Jason Universe YouTube channel and through a site hosted by Angry Orchard Hard Cider, which is sponsoring the vignette as part of a larger collaboration with the franchise. Horror, Inc.'s 'Friday the 13th' franchise as a whole is aiming to make a big resurgence tied to the original film's 45th anniversary. Recently, the franchise debuted an all-new Jason Voorhees design by artist Greg Nicotero (featured in the image above), announced Jason's integration at Universal's Halloween Horror Nights for the first time in almost a decade, and continued development of A24's highly-anticipated 'Crystal Lake' TV series. Nelson is best known for directing the 2021 'Wrong Turn' reboot and his debut feature, 2018's 'The Domestics.' His latest feature film, the upcoming 'Silent Night, Deadly Night' reboot, will be released in theaters via Cineverse on December 12. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean
