Hot Wheels Proton Saga Special Edition is back, in conjunction with Saga's 40th anniversary
Aside from that, the text on the back of the packaging is also slightly different, although it generally still honours Saw Jane Harn, who was the winner of Hot Wheels x Proton Kids Design Competition 2023. As part of the grand prize, Jane's hand-drawn artwork was turned into the Malaysia-exclusive design of the blister card for the Hot Wheels Proton Saga Special Edition, which was retained for this release.
However, the biggest differentiator would be the appearance of the Saga 40th Anniversary logo just next to the text. Hence, that is why this release is also known as the Hot Wheels Proton Saga 40th Anniversary Edition.
In terms of pricing, it is no different from any basic Hot Wheel models (also known as the Mainline model). You can get the model for around RM10 to RM11, depending on the retailer.
Given the nature of the model and its special edition packaging, it is likely going to be challenging to get your hands on the 2025 Hot Wheels Proton Saga Special Edition release at retail stores.
There is another way for you to get that Hot Wheels model though, which is by booking a Proton Saga during the Saga Weekend Event. The first round already took place last weekend, but there is another one coming later this week from 12 to 13 July.
Aside from the Hot Wheels model, customers can also enjoy cash rebates of RM2,000 for the Proton Saga. Take note that these offers are only available at selected Proton showrooms, so you might want to give them a call first before making your visit. — SoyaCincau

Penang explores new cable car link between Botanic Gardens and Gurney Bay
GEORGE TOWN, Aug 6 — The Penang state government has tasked Hartasuma Sdn Bhd — the firm building the Penang Hill cable car — with conducting a feasibility study for a similar service connecting the Botanic Gardens to Gurney Bay. However, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow stressed that this feasibility study is a separate initiative from the Penang Hill cable car project already awarded to Hartasuma. 'We are merely looking into the feasibility of building cable cars to connect these two tourist attractions,' Chow said. He added that the proposed 2.5km line makes sense as it would link two of the city's iconic recreational and tourism spots. If the project comes to fruition, he noted, it would serve as another major tourist attraction for the state. Chow clarified that once the study is completed, the state government will review the findings and make a final decision on how to proceed. The directive for the new study comes as Hartasuma is proceeding with the construction of the RM367.2 million Penang Hill cable car project, which is expected to be completed by early 2027.

Works Ministry: MLFF toll system to use B2B model, won't cost government ‘single sen'
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 6 — The Works Ministry is proceeding with the Multi-Lane Fast Flow (MLFF) toll collection system through a direct business-to-business (B2B) model as the agreement with the original project proponent was terminated last year, Parliament heard today. Speaking in the Dewan Rakyat, Deputy Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said the B2B model ensures there will be no financial outlay from the government. 'The government remains committed to implementing the MLFF system via a B2B model, with no financial burden on the government. 'Private service providers will be allowed to negotiate directly with the 33 existing highway concessionaires,' he said. Ahmad Maslan said a proof-of-concept (PoC) trial for the MLFF system is currently being conducted at the Alam Impian toll plaza on the Kemuning–Shah Alam Expressway. This trial, a collaboration with Touch 'n Go and CIMB, involves the installation of gantries and other supporting infrastructure. Responding to a supplementary question from Tanjong Manis MP Yusuf Abdul Wahab on how the system would handle toll evasion, the deputy minister explained that it will use a combination of radio-frequency identification (RFID) and automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) technology to identify all vehicles. He said those who fail to pay will receive notices, and future enforcement could include blocking road tax renewals. 'RM3.46 billion cost won't materialise' Ahmad Maslan also addressed recent concerns raised by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) regarding a previously projected cost of RM3.46 billion to the government. 'The previously mentioned RM3.46 billion cost will not materialise, as the government has decided to implement the MLFF system through a B2B model. 'This means that not a single sen of government funds will be involved,' he asserted, adding that discussions of multi-billion ringgit figures are no longer relevant. He explained that a two-year timeframe has been designated to give private service providers ample opportunity to finalise their negotiations with the highway concessionaires. In the interim, he said the ministry is working to improve existing RFID lanes and has introduced open payment systems (SPT) allowing debit and credit card use at toll booths to enhance payment flexibility.

Car fire blocks lane on Penang Bridge to George Town, causes long delays (VIDEO)
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 6 — A car caught fire at Kilometre 6.8 of the Penang Bridge heading from Butterworth towards the island this morning, worsening the usual rush hour traffic. According to the Penang Fire and Rescue Department, the incident did not result in any injuries as all passengers managed to escape safely. The fire caused heavy traffic congestion, with vehicles moving slowly towards George Town. The department said its personnel arrived promptly at the scene and successfully extinguished the blaze. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire. Plus Malaysia, via its @plustrafik account, earlier reported that the left lane was blocked and advised motorists to drive cautiously. At 9.22am, it said the situation was resolved.
