Marcus Williams' pick-six off of Jameis Winston is the Saints Play of the Day
Trailing 27-17 at home back in 2019, Winston tried a deep shot to the normally-reliable Mike Evans -- but it wasn't meant to be. Free safety Marcus Williams beat the wideout to the overthrown ball and took it down the sideline, outlining everyone to the end zone. You can see the pick-six for yourself right here.
It wasn't Winston's finest moment on the football field. He'd play his best ball with the Saints after they signed him as a free agent in 2020, getting the first opportunity to replace Drew Brees a season later in 2021. After Winston threw 11 touchdown passes against 10 interceptions in nine games against New Orleans when he was suiting up for Tampa Bay, also taking 24 sacks; as a member of the Saints, he notched 10 starts (in 21 appearances) and connected on 20 touchdowns while throwing 11 interceptions and taking 26 sacks. He also fumbled just five times in black and gold after putting the ball on the turf 50 times in 72 games for Tampa.
As for Williams? Things didn't go as planned between him and the Saints. New Orleans is still trying to replace defensive end Trey Hendrickson, who they let walk away in free agency in 2021 to free up money for an extension with Williams that never manifested even after he spent a year playing on the franchise tag. But he played his best football with the Saints, too. After totaling 15 interceptions with 3 fumbles (2 recoveries) in five years with the Saints, Williams only picked off 5 passes without a single forced fumble (though he did recover a pair of them) in three years with the Baltimore Ravens. Maybe he would've been better off staying in New Orleans.

Cardinals training camp: CB Garrett Williams getting work outside
Garrett Williams could become an every-down player with the injury to Star Thomas. The season-ending injury to cornerback Star Thomas V brought a new and exciting wrinkle to the Arizona Cardinals' defense in training camp on Sunday. We might get to see even more from Garrett Williams in 2025, who became one of the better slot cornerbacks in the league last year. With Thomas on injured reserve, Williams is now getting work outside. Williams has played almost exclusively in the slot in the season and a half he has played (he missed the first half of his rookie season recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in his final season at Syracuse), but many have wondered if he could also play and succeed on the outside. If Sunday's practice is a preview of what the regular season will be, Williams will be an every-down player and will play both inside and out. Could this be similar to what happened with Byron Muprhy? Murphy was used almost exclusively as the Cardinals' nickel corner, but injuries forced him to play more outside, where he has flourished. Playing Williams in base downs would give the defense a little more experience on the field. Otherwise, it would be Max Melton, who played less than 600 snaps as a rookie last season, and rookie Will Johnson in base downs. It will be something to watch as training camp continues and the preseason begins. Jalen Williams calls Kobe Bryant the NBA's GOAT
Considering how vocal he's been about his fandom, it shouldn't be shocking to learn Jalen Williams believes Kobe Bryant is basketball's greatest of all time. The NBA champion trended on social media this past week for a side-by-side photo. Williams answered questions of whether he was a good enough second-best player on a title contender with a resounding yes during the playoffs. The 24-year-old stepped up to help Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. His championship run was highlighted by a 40-point performance in the 2025 NBA Finals Game 5. What makes Williams' run even more mythical is the quiet battle he endured. After he sustained torn wrist ligaments late in the regular season, he played through swelling and pain for two months in the playoffs. He'd receive pain-numbing shots before every playoff contest. It was obvious Williams was playing through an ailment. His wrist was heavily wrapped. But the 24-year-old kept quiet about the injury. Anytime he was asked about it, he'd have a strong poker face. After Sam Presti announced his wrist surgery, he finally talked ad nauseam about the grueling day-to-day process. Earlier this week, Williams took a photo of himself in pajamas, attempting a one-handed free throw with his hand cast. It's the same pose Bryant hit when he dealt with a hand fracture in 1999. The 24-year-old posted both photos on social media. It caused some backlash, but none of substance. After Williams fired back at his haters by saying he's closer to Bryant than they are to him, he also proclaimed that he thinks Bryant is the best of all time. Williams wrote in a reply: "he da goat." That's a popular opinion among some basketball circles. Bryant brought home five championships with the Los Angeles Lakers. That type of success on the NBA's biggest franchise will create a huge following. Even if there are a handful of players with better resumes, Bryant's fans will argue to the end of time that he's the greatest ever. Add Williams to that group. he da goat
