Mukhtar Ansari's son disqualified as MLA after hate speech conviction
Abbas Ansari, the Mau Sadar MLA and son of gangster-turned-politician the late Mukhtar Ansari, has been disqualified from the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly following his conviction in a 2022 hate speech case.A court in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday found Abbas Ansari guilty of making inflammatory remarks during a public rally in Mau district ahead of the 2022 Assembly elections. The court sentenced him to two years in prison and imposed a fine of Rs 3,000.advertisementUnder the Representation of the People Act, there is a provision to terminate the membership of the legislative house if the court sentences a member to two years or more.
During the rally, Ansari, a member of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party, said, 'I've told Akhilesh Yadav that no transfers or postings will happen for six months. First, 'hisab-kitab' will happen to them. Only then will their transfer certificates be stamped.' The court held that his remarks amounted to hate speech and criminal intimidation.An FIR was lodged against him in March 2022 over the statements. Alongside Abbas, his brother Mansar Ansari was also convicted in the case. The court sentenced Mansar to six months in jail and fined him Rs 1,000.As per legal provisions, any MLA receiving a sentence of two years or more faces automatic disqualification. Following the court's verdict, the Uttar Pradesh Assembly has issued an order terminating Abbas Ansari's membership with immediate effect.Must Watch

The tragic incident occurred during the team's IPL victory celebration, which saw an overwhelming turnout of fans. The sudden surge of the crowd led to chaos and a stampede that claimed multiple lives and left several others injured. "The unfortunate incident in Bengaluru yesterday has caused a lot of anguish and pain to the RCB family. As a mark of respect and a gesture of solidarity, RCB has announced a financial support of INR 10 lakh to each of the eleven families of the deceased. A top Naxal leader carrying a bounty of Rs40 lakh was killed in an encounter with security forces on Thursday in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district. The operation took place in the National Park area, where intelligence inputs had indicated the presence of senior Naxal on the information, a joint team of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Special Task Force (STF) launched a coordinated operation in the forested region. An exchange of fire ensued between the joint forces and the Naxals, continuing from the early hours of the the encounter, Central Committee member Sudhakar, one of the most wanted Naxal leaders, was gunned down. He was carrying a reward of Rs 40 lakh on his head. Sudhakar's death comes close on the heels of the killing of Nambala Keshav Rao, also known as Basavaraju, who was killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh in May. He was among 30 Naxals neutralised in a joint operation led by the District Reserve Guard (DRG) in the dense Abujhmad forests - a Naxal Keshav Rao, the general secretary of the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist), has been part of the Naxalite movement since the late 1970s and was one of its most feared strategists. He carried a bounty of Rs 1.5 crore and was wanted in connection with several deadly attacks on security forces across multiple Home Minister Amit Shah called the operation "a landmark achievement in the battle to eliminate Naxalism".
