The first developer betas for iOS 26, macOS Tahoe, iPadOS 26, and more are now available

The first developer betas for iOS 26, iPadOS 26, watchOS 26, tvOS 26, visionOS 26, and macOS Tahoe are now available if you're eager to try the updates that Apple just announced. Everyone will have early access to the new versions of the operating systems when the public betas are released next month, but only developers have access to the betas starting today. As of 2023, Apple no longer requires you to pay for Apple's developer program to download and install them right away. You just need to enroll your devices in the Apple Beta Software Program by signing in with your Apple account. Once enrolled, you can access developer betas through the software update sections of Apple's various devices. On an iPhone, for example, you'll find them by opening the Settings app and navigating to General > Software Update > Beta Updates, where you'll be given the option to install the latest version. Before you install a developer beta, you should understand what you're getting into. The first versions may not include all of the new features Apple announced during its WWDC 2025 keynote. There may also be stability issues, bugs that result in significant battery drain, and compatibility issues with apps you rely on. It's a good idea to try out developer betas on a secondary device. If that's not an option, make sure your iPhone or iPad is backed up before installing the beta releases.

Apple Music Gets 3 New Features With iOS 26: WWDC 2025 Recap

Apple Music in iOS 26 Apple's latest iOS 26 update for iPhone brings a slew of changes to system apps. It makes the Photos app usable again and includes new features within Messages, Wallet, Maps, and more. But with the storm of information, one of the apps that could've gone under the radar during Apple's WWDC announcement is Apple Music. The Cupertino tech giant is supercharging Apple Music with new capabilities. To be specific, Apple is adding three new features to its Music app with iOS 26 and here's why they matter. This feature helps you understand the words in your favorite non-English tracks. If you're listening to Spanish country music or a French romantic song, you'll now see the lyrics translated in real time. It's built to make music more accessible and lyrics understandable, regardless of language barriers. The translations appear in a smaller font than the usual lyrics font. I installed the iOS 26 Developer Beta 1 to check if it also translates Hindi songs (Hindi being my primary language) to English. Thankfully, it doesn't. My Bollywood music retains its original lyrics while I can get Gasolina translated in real time. Apple Music's Lyrics Pronunciation does exactly what it says—it teaches you how to sing the lyrics correctly. I'm looking forward to understanding how it works so I can sing along to my favorite non-English and non-Hindi songs without butchering the chorus. Under Settings > Apps > Music, Apple now offers a Lyrics menu. You can choose whether lyrics or pronunciation appears larger when both are displayed. I haven't seen pronunciation in Music so far, but I expect it to roll out to more songs gradually. Automix in Apple Music on iOS 26 can turn your playlists into a DJ-like continuous listening experience. It lives under Settings > Apps > Music > Song Transitions, which replaces the Crossfade toggle. Using time stretching and beat matching, Apple Music now transitions between songs like a DJ would. It can theoretically remove silences between song transitions and deliver a clean, flowing vibe to your playlist. Automix is stated to transition songs 'at the perfect moment, based on analytics of the key and tempo of the music.' You can still find and toggle Crossfade just below Automix. All of these new Apple Music features will come to supported iPhones with the iOS 26 update.

Amazon Pledges $20 Billion for Pennsylvania Data Centers

Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) is set to pour $20 billion into Pennsylvania for new AWS data-center campuses, fueling its AI and cloud ambitions while creating over 1,250 high-skilled jobs. Warning! GuruFocus has detected 2 Warning Sign with AMZN. The first two innovation hubs will rise in Luzerne and Bucks countiesSalem and Falls townships respectivelywith additional sites under review, Governor Josh Shapiro said. Since 2010, Amazon has plowed more than $26 billion into Pennsylvania infrastructure and payroll, generating 27,000 direct jobs. This latest boost will also support thousands of roles across the AWS data-center supply chain and is paired with a $250,000 Amazon Northeastern Pennsylvania Community Fund for STEM, sustainability, digital skills, culture and health grants. One Luzerne facility sits alongside the Susquehanna nuclear plant owned by Talen Energy; Amazon's $650 million purchase of that site to tap up to 960 MW has drawn FERC scrutiny over grid-fairness and power allocation issuesthe first such case before the commission. Amazon and Talen must address concerns that shifting power to data centers could disadvantage other consumers and skirt grid-use fees. Amazon didn't immediately comment on FERC's review. Tech peers like Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) and Meta (NASDAQ:META) are also investing billions in AI-ready data centers, but Amazon's Pennsylvania commitment stands out for its scale and local job impact. Why It Matters: Amazon's massive spend underscores the critical role of hyperscale data centers in supporting AI growth and confirms Pennsylvania's emergence as a cloud-computing hub.
