Karim Alkhayat & HNGT Drop Joint Dark Techno EP ‘Fate/Away From Home'
Released on Denmark's Iboga Records, the two-track EP layers eerie vocal samples of Islamic litanies with brooding synths and cathartic atmospheric melodies.

Dubai-based Syria-born DJ and producer Karim Alkhayat teams up with HNGT, one of the most prominent DJs in Brazil, on a joint EP, titled 'Fate/Away From Home', a hypnotic voyage into the heart of techno's darker recesses.
Released on Denmark's Iboga Records, the EP encompasses two tracks, 'Fate' and 'Away from Home', the first of which is a fresh effort on Arabic techno, layering eerie vocal samples of Islamic litanies with brooding synths and cathartic atmospheric melodies.
Meanwhile, 'Away from Home', is a peak-time techno banger, where a pounding kick drum serves as the track's backbone accompanied by industrial-style percussion that weaves in and out in an unrelenting sense of motion and a stripped-back breakdown of reverb-drenched melodies.

The Paris-based festival celebrates 5 years of alternative Arab sounds with artists from Tunisia, Syria, Algeria, Morocco, and beyond. Jun 06, 2025 Now in its fifth year, Tunis-sur-Seine returns to Paris July 5th with one of its most dynamic editions yet. Dedicated to championing alternative Arab and Mediterranean music, the festival has built a reputation for pushing boundaries and amplifying emerging voices from across the region and its diaspora. This year's lineup features a genre-defying mix: Tunisian pop, Maghreb hip-hop, Syrian rap, indie soul, and electronic experiments that capture the pulse of a generation in motion. Artists include Si Lemhaf, ODA, Tamman, Dhalma, DJAM & TiMoh, Nejia, Ziineb, Maris Ben, Dawan, and Soolek, each bringing a unique take on the region's soundscape. Taking place at Le Point Fort d'Aubervilliers, the event transforms the venue into a full-day celebration of music and culture. Alongside ten back-to-back concerts, attendees can explore a creative market, sample regional street food, and take part in workshops and activities for all ages. Tunis-sur-Seine has always been a meeting point for diasporic memory, hybrid identities, and artistic resistance. Five years in, it remains a vital platform for Arab artists who defy categorization and rewrite the rules of genre, language, and belonging.
