I now communicate better, face seniors confidently, and take pride in representing my unit everywhere I go.

NCC is like a dress rehearsal for becoming an armed forces officer. It has taught me survival and given me a small glimpse of life in the Indian armed forces. It is fascinating to see officers in uniform, but what goes in achieving that pride, that is something we learn here. The NCC training has completely changed me as a person.
From holding a rifle to witnessing artillery shows, it is a surreal experience

One of the best things that I've learned in NCC is - Service comes first, self later. From holding a rifle with live ammunition to witnessing artillery shows, it is a surreal experience. As an army kid, discipline has been in my blood, but what NCC gave me was a peer group with a common goal. It's unity that holds us together here.
NCC goes beyond just uniformed parades and physical training sessions. The cadets are capable of being a second line response team in case of any emergency, disaster or war-like situation.

Steeped in legend, the temple is one of the most prominent Vaishnav shrines in Odisha. Nando Utsav will be celebrated on Sunday. According to temple tradition, the deity earned the name Khirachora Gopinath (Gopinath, the thief of milk pudding) centuries ago when Lord Krishna, moved by the longing of his ardent devotee Madhavendra Puri, secretly kept aside a portion of the famous khira bhoga (milk pudding) and delivered it to him through the temple priest. Since then, the temple has become a centre of faith and pilgrimage, drawing devotees from across the country. Two fighter pilots from Pune receive mention in despatches for bravery during ‘Op Sindoor'
Pune: Two fighter pilots of Indian Air Force (IAF) from Pune were among those recognised with a Mention in Despatches on Independence Day for their brave actions during Operation Sindoor, which took place from May 7 to May 10. Their journey into the IAF is notably similar, as both were inspired by their grandfathers, who were retired airmen. "Being part of the operation, achieving the operational tasks, and receiving this award for our efforts is a surreal experience. It is difficult to express in words," they told TOI on Saturday. Both pilots operate Sukhoi 30 MKI fighter jets and are serving in a squadron known as "Flying Lancers" for their rich history of heroic actions in the Indo-Pak Wars of 1965 and 1971.
