SpongeBob Sails To Underworld To Prove Himself In ‘Search for SquarePants'
SpongeBob SquarePants is returning to the screens with a brand-new movie, titled The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants. This will be SpongeBob's fourth big-screen adventure since the cartoon first aired in 1999. On Wednesday, July 9, Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies released the first teaser trailer, offering a glimpse into the adventure SpongeBob is set to embark on this time.
The teaser begins with SpongeBob and his friends preparing for a new adventure. This time, they are heading to the Underworld, a place where they have never gone before. He will face off against the Flying Dutchman, one of the show's well-known villains, who has haunted the sea creatures for years. SpongeBob is set to prove his bravery to none other than Mr Krabs. The minute-long teaser promises the upcoming film will be a mixture of humour and horror.
The official synopsis of the SpongeBob movie says that he and 'his Bikini Bottom friends set sail in their biggest, all-new, can't miss cinematic event ever." It further mentioned, 'Desperate to be a big guy, SpongeBob sets out to prove his bravery to Mr. Krabs by following The Flying Dutchman – a mysterious swashbuckling ghost pirate – on a seafaring comedy-adventure that takes him to the deepest depths of the deep sea, where no Sponge has gone before."
The new movie marks the return of fan-favourite voice actors Tom Kenny as SpongeBob, Bill Fagerbakke as Patrick Star, Rodger Bumpass as Squidward Tentacles, Clancy Brown as Mr. Krabs, Carolyn Lawrence as Sandy Cheeks and Mr. Lawrence as Plankton. While the ghostly pirate Flying Dutchman was played by Brian Doyle-Murray in the TV show, Mark Hamill of Star Wars fame is set to voice the character in the movie. Some new characters will also appear in the film, which will be played by celebrities such as George Lopez, Ice Spice, Arturo Castro, Sherry Cola and Regina Hall.
The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, written by Marc Ceccarelli, Kaz and Pam Brady, is directed by Derek Drymon. The new movie is scheduled to be released theatrically in the United States on December 19. Back in 2004, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie came out, followed by The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water in 2015 and The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run in 2020.

How Australia Cricketer's Action Turned Party In Yuvraj Singh's Room 'Dead Quiet' During 2011 WC: 'Bollywood Celebs...'
John Hastings recalls the moment when he had to call the hotel reception to tell them he will fix the damage caused in Yuvraj Singh's room. In a room full of people including international cricketers and Bollywood stars, a young Australia fast bowler's attempt to play his favourite songs at a party hosted by Yuvraj Singh resulted in a broken table and a pin-drop silence. The anecdote, narrated by the guilty party himself, is from during the 2011 ODI World Cup held in the Indian subcontinent. The then 25-year-old John Hastings was among the Aussie stars invited to attend a party at Yuvraj's suite which the former fast bowler says was bigger than his house back home. 'It was one of those ones where we'd obviously had a few and I think you know we'd obviously been invited up to Yuvi's (Yuvraj Singh) room and walked in and there was a suite. It was massive. It was as big as my house over here. And I remember looking around, I just jeez there's so many people in here," Hastings said on LiSTNR sport. While the size and crowd impressed the young Aussie, the music didn't. 'What's going on with this music? So, I was fiddling around with the laptop trying to get some of my playlist on and I sat on the edge of this…ledge that had a phone on there. There was a laptop, I sat on it and boom off it came down on the floor and I just remember everyone just stopped and looked and went silent, dead quiet, pin could drop," Hastings remembered. The situation could have easily intimidated Hastings, but he recalls keeping his calm and calling the reception to inform them of the damage he had caused. However, the phone in the room had been damaged as well. 'I just went, 'What am I going to do here? I'm a young kid.' It's Yuvraj Singh's room. There are so many people here. There's probably Bollywood celebrities everywhere, and I just went, 'Right, stay calm,' and I went to the phone, which was already out off the wall, and I'd seen the cord be ripped out of the wall. So, I just thought, I'll just make sure that I've made this right. And there was no one on the end of the line. So, I picked up the phone. I said, 'Reception, yep. John Hastings, I just want to make sure that there's a bit of damage in Mr. Singh's room. I'll make sure I fix it up. I'm in the room such and such.' And everyone was like, 'Well done, mate. That's brilliant.' And everyone just kicked on, played on," Hastings said. 'I actually went down to reception to make sure that I could rectify the situation, but there was never another word. So, happy days. I didn't have to pay for any damage and we had a really good night," he added. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
