BST Hyde Park share statement on fate of Jeff Lynne's ELO's final show
The group are currently on their Over and Out farewell tour but a show at Manchester's Co Op Live was axed on Thursday (10.07.25) just minutes before ELO were due to take to the stage, prompting fans to express concerns about the fate of their final gig at BST Hyde Park this weekend.
However, when fans asked for an update on X, the event's social media team confirmed the performance is currently still set to take place.
An update from the official BST account wrote: 'As reported. Jeff Lynne was unwell and unable to perform on Thursday 10th July. We are advised that there are currently no concerns with regards to Sunday's performance.'
Fans had already taken their seats for Thursday's concert when they were informed the performance would no longer be taking place due to illness.
A statement on the band's social media accounts confirmed: "Unfortunately, due to illness, tonight's scheduled performance of Jeff Lynne's ELO at the Co-Op Live will not be going ahead.
'Jeff is devastated he cannot perform this evening. More information will become available as soon as possible. For refunds, please go to your point of purchase.'
The 77-year-old singer previously spoke of how performing ELO's final show at the London festival was an appropriate end to touring because it was the same venue the group played in 2014, their first concert in 25 years.
He said: 'My return to touring began at Hyde Park in 2014.
"It seems like the perfect place to do our final show. We couldn't be more excited to share this special night in London with our UK fans.
"As the song goes, 'we're gonna do it One More Time!''

The live shows are nothing short of extraordinary and a testament to the incredible catalogue of hits we've enjoyed for over 50 years. ELO was formed in 1970 by Jeff, Roy Wood of Wizzard and Bev Bevan and featured keyboardist Richard Tandy from 1972 until his death last May aged 76.

Country singer Pat Green takes action after losing family members to Texas floods
Despite having suffered a personal loss, Pat Green is still thinking of others. The country singer, who lost his brother, sister-in-law and two nephews in the central Texas floods this month, has put together a relief concert to raise money for those impacted by the disaster. "Our targets are Kerr County relief, TEXSAR, and the Do It For Durrett [Foundation,]" Green told Fox News Digital hours before the concert. "And what I can say about Do it For Durrett is we can actually give straight to the children that have suffered this amazing loss, like my niece did." While he lost his brother John, his brother's wife and their two sons, his niece survived. "Here's to my brother, John, and his wife, Julie, and the two boys that were swept away. But I don't want to get too deep into that or I'll start crying, as I have been," Green said. In his grief, the "I Like Texas" singer said that he's mainly concerned about his parents. "You should never watch your children die, much less your grandchildren," he said. "It's beyond me, you know?" "You should never watch your children die, much less your grandchildren. It's beyond me, you know?" He said he has "good days and bad days" thinking about his family. "I was there when John came out, and he was carrying that blue goop, you know? The fundraiser's lineup will include a bevy of country music stars like Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, John Pardi, Corey Kent, Casey Donahew, Josh Abbott, Ryan Bingham, Eli Young Band, Joe Nichols, Kaitlin Butts, Kevin Fowler, and Bob Schneider, among others.
