Mel B wedding guest feared groom would be 'left at the altar'

Daily Mirror6 days ago
A guest who attended Mel B's wedding to Rory McPhee over the weekend has revealed he feared that the groom would be left at the altar as the singer was late
Melanie Brown's wedding guest feared her husband would be left at the altar due to her being late. Over the weekend, the Spice Girls icon married her long-term fiancée, Rory McPhee, at a stunning ceremony held at St. Paul's Cathedral.
The 50-year-old chart topper looked stunning as she wore a figure-hugging classic white gown after arriving in a white Rolls-Royce car. Meanwhile, her husband, Rory, arrived with his parents and brother as he rocked a traditional Scottish kilt, apparently wearing it fully traditionally.

However, Melanie was delayed arriving at the ceremony, leaving Dave Hughes fearing that she might not turn up. Melanie had been extremely excited about the wedding and struggled to contain her joy whenever she spoke about it.

Dave, who worked with Melanie on the Australian version of The Masked Singer, was one of several high-profile guests at the ceremony, held at the OBE Chapel, also known as St. Faith's Chapel at the London landmark. He said that he and his wife, Holly, had been "stoked" to attend the wedding.
"Mel was half an hour late," he told the Daily Mail. He went on to add: "I was slightly concerned Rory was gonna be left at the aisle in his kilt - no undies and no bride. But she turned up! Mel's little dog was entrusted to bring the ring down the aisle but she got lost and had to be chased around the chapel. Funny moment!"

But despite being excited to attend the ceremony, Dave almost missed his chance. He received the invite from Melanie's wedding planner when he was appearing on the Australian version of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in South Africa, and only found the email after he left the jungle.
Each year, only a select number of people are allowed to marry at St. Paul's and thanks to Melanie being awarded an MBE for her services to charity work supporting Women's Aid, she was one of them. The cathedral states that they are able to marry people who have an OBE, the order of St Michael and St George and those who hold a British Empire Medal and their children.

Melanie was walked down the aisle by James Steen, the husband of Louise Grannon, Melanie's biographer. While her now husband, Rory, was supported at the alter by his best man, brother, Jordan McPhee.
Melanie was supported by her bandmate, Emma Bunton, just days after the Mirror revealed why she was the only Spice Girl attending the ceremony. There had been reports that both Geri Horner and Lady Victoria Beckham had been snubbed but a source close to the band revealed to me that this wasn't the case.

"There's no snub; the girls are all on friendly terms with one another, but it's no secret that Geri is busy with Christian at Formula One, and Victoria is extremely busy with her fashion brand," my mole said. Geri was at the British Grand Prix with her husband, while Melanie C, known as Sporty Spice, was performing in Rødovre, eastern Denmark, and Victoria had commitments with her fashion business.
Emma, known as Baby Spice, delighted those in attendance by singing at the ceremony. She told the Mirror: "I am so excited to be here, I can't wait for the wedding." Leeds-born Melanie worked very closely with London-based Evelie Bridal and Josephine Scott to design the georgette crepe gown, which showcased her gym-honed physique in a corset bodice. Her beautiful gown featured draping, which hugged her silhouette and flowed freely into a dramatic train.
Meanwhile, a detachable jacket was decorated with hand-embellished pearl constellations across the high neckline, with the long-sleeved jacket framing her shoulders and adding a regal touch to her gown, in true St Paul's etiquette.

These contouring swimsuits with built-in shapewear are perfect to smooth out your curves and give you that hourglass shape you truly desire. That's why they're perfect for postpartum mothers, too — no more feeling insecure in your body. Wear your TA3 one-piece suit with pride. TA3 Plungey Swimsuit Available in tons of colors, this shaping swimsuit will give you an hourglass shape while providing full support. It's available in sizes XXS to 4XL and can support cup sizes from A to K. Shop now while stocks last. Shop You might've seen these suits blowing up on Instagram or TikTok. Women put them on and then do a dramatic tie pull to tighten the suit, corset-style. The result is a smooth, Baywatch-style suit that holds everything in — literally. I own two pairs and it's my favorite for days I'm feeling a little bloated or just not confident in a bikini. The Plungey, $178, is the bestselling design and features a plunging neckline, a lace-up back, and the option to choose between 17 colors. TA3's most noteworthy aspect is its size availability. You can shop the Plungey in sizes ranging from XXS to 4XL. The best part? The suit can support all cup sizes — all the way from A to K. As a woman with a larger bust, this is game-changing for me. It really holds everything in place and keeps my chest from bouncing around. This makes it a particularly good option for postpartum women too, as it can offer the comfort and support you need, without ever feeling like it's biting into your skin or feeling too tight. And it really is comfortable — the suits are each made from breathable fabrics, designed to give moms the confidence they need, while also flattering your existing body type. Flattering for all: Women of all sizes love this suit for its flattering fit There are push-up bust pads in it too, giving you the lift you desire, and the suit itself offers sun protection, keeping you from burning while you're on the beach all day. It's fully adjustable too, from the straps to the lace-up design, allowing you to customize as you see fit. You don't have to take my word for it — over 500 TA3 shoppers gave the Plungey a 4.8-star rating. 'Believe the reviews. I do not like cheeky swimsuits so I chose the Plungey for the full bottom coverage... I wore it for 3 straight days at the beach and it was very comfortable and flattering,' says one shopper. 'This was the last style I tried as I have a large bust (34H) and thought it would be the least likely to contain and support my chest. Pleasantly surprised at the support it gives without underwire and it's the perfect amount of cheeky in the back,' adds another. Shop the suit in 17 different colors before they sell out of stock 'I have personally never worn a one-piece before this one and was afraid of feeling un-sexy. This suit accented my curves (and made some new ones) and gave me an hourglass figure. I'm obsessed,' says a third. I had the exact same experience when I tried my first TA3 swimsuit on, and you can too! Whether you're a postpartum mother or just someone looking to feel confident and sexy in a one-piece, TA3 has options for everyone. The Plungey is by far their most loved suit, but the brand offers tons of options depending on what you're looking for. Shop soon — because believe me, colors and sizes sell out often.
