Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra to perform score to Star Wars live at Victory Theatre
HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – The Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra will present Star Wars: A New Hope in Concert that will feature a screening of the complete film with composer John Williams' iconic score performed live to the film.
Orchestra officials state since the release of the movie over 45 years ago, the Star Wars saga has had a seismic impact on cinema and culture. Fans will get the chance to experience the scope and grandeur of the film in a live symphonic concert experience.
Roger Kalia will lead the performance that is scheduled at the Victory Theatre at 7 p.m.
Adult tickets start at $35, and students and children are free after April 28 based on availability. Tickets are available for purchase at the Evansville Philharmonic Box Office or online at www.evansvillephilharmonic.org

I think I don't get angry, and I don't drop F-bombs,' Hamill said. 'I mean, I know I have a lot of kids who follow me, but I think you have to have fun with it, yeah? Mock him. That's the kryptonite to a malignant narcissist.' Besides that, no other mention of Trump was made. The uncharacteristic omission was not lost on fans, who immediately called out the panelists for including 'nothing on the elephant in the room.' 'Where are the current events? I am so disappointed,' one wrote on X. 'Is the show pre-taped last year. Love y'all, but you missed the mark. Not a word about the break up of the bromance.' 'No talk about the biggest and best news in ages, very disappointing!' a second huffed, while a third noted: 'This must be a taped show. I'm so disappointed. I was looking forward to it.' 'Is this taped!? Or did they get censored?! I want 'the view' on the girl fight yesterday!!' a fourth demanded, with another labeling the silence 'odd.' The Independent understands that the episode was pre-recorded Thursday afternoon, before Trump and Musk began trading blows on social media. The hosts' apparent hush-hush approach comes after reports broke last month that Disney boss Bob Iger and ABC News chief Almin Karamehmedovic asked them to tone down the political rhetoric on the show. According to TheDailyBeast, Karamehmedovic called a meeting with the show's five hosts — Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin — and executive producer Brian Teta, suggesting 'the panel needed to broaden its conversations beyond its predominant focus on politics.' One source familiar with the matter stressed to The Independent that there was really nothing out of character with this particular meeting, noting that the network 'constantly has conversations with talent based on viewer feedback, and this instance was no different.' 'This is not about talking about Trump. It's about balance in the show on topics,' the source added. 'This conversation is really about making sure there's just balance in the show.'

Tony Gilroy Has Seen Your Mon Mothma Dance Remixes and Wants More
Star Wars fans love making the absurd out of the most dramatic moments of its saga, and transforming Mon Mothma's hypnotic wedding crashout into a dance-meme-turned-song-of-the-summer-candidate is just one such instance of that. Some creatives might bristle at their serious work being made light of, but Andor showrunner Tony Gilroy has another approach: let the people remix! 'I love it. Why not? It's fun,' Gilroy recently told Vanity Fair of the oodles of remixes, extensions, and memes that have come out of the scene. 'You'd have to be wrapped pretty tight to not want to do that.' While the climactic moment of Andor season 2's first act–as Mon wrestles with Luthen's demand that her old friend and financial aide, Tay Kolma, must be killed to stop him from betraying the nascent rebellion by getting into a trancelike dance state at her daughter's wedding bash–is one of the season's dramatic highs, the music that punctuates it all has become one of the show's breakout cultural moments. Itself a remix of the first season's similar club classic 'Niamos!', composer Brandon Robert's updated synth track keeps the crunchy techno vibes of Nicholas Britell's original, will incorporating elements of EDM and house music to create the perfect beat to have an existential crisis to. Lucasfilm has embraced the moment, from releasing the soundtrack, to hour-long extensions, to last week's release of the official single 'Niamos! (Chandrilan Club Mix). But both Gilroy and Roberts alike want them to go further: releasing the separate audio elements of the track so fans can more easily remix it themselves, and spread new versions of 'Niamos!' across the world much like it seemingly swept over the galaxy far, far away. 'I'm hoping that they're working out the legality of getting the stems out to, if not everybody, at least a certain number of DJs who they approve of, who can mess with it,' Gilroy noted. 'It really could be a gas.' 'It's always interesting to see what people do, but I think the most interesting thing would be to see what people do from scratch but using the musical material,' Roberts added. 'I bet there's going to be some very cool versions of it out there, much hipper than anything I could do.' There is something very thematically Andor about trying to make this happen, and make 'Niamos!' an anthem of the fandom as much as it is the show's. The job cuts, which are numbered in the double digits but described to The Hollywood Reporter as being well under 100, come across the company's linear cable groups. No particular channel was affected more than others, a person with knowledge of the layoffs said, and no specific function was targeted. Earlier this week, Disney laid off several-hundred employees. A week or so prior, Disney's ESPN slashed 300 jobs. In March, about 6 percent of Disney Entertainment Networks and ABC News staffers were let go.
