Gardaí investigate death of man found injured at house in west Co Dublin
Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in West Dublin.
A man, who was in his 50s, was found injured at a house in Foxdene Drive, Balgaddy, Co Dublin shortly after 11pm on Wednesday.
He was taken to Tallaght University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
A Garda statement said the local coroner will be informed and a postmortem examination will be carried out.

The scene remains preserved pending a forensic examination.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of Foxdene Drive between 11pm and 12am and saw anything that may help them with their investigation to contact them at Lucan Garda station on (01) 6667300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
Any road users or pedestrians who may have relevant camera footage are also asked to make it available.

Man (41) charged with causing serious harm after man dies following Balbriggan crash
A man (41) has been accused of severely injuring another man who died following a collision in Balbriggan, Co Dublin on Monday night. Married father-of-three Mircea Rostas (33), was struck by a car at about 9pm at Railway Street. Emergency services treated Mr Rostas, who lived in Balbriggan, at the scene but he died a short time later. Det Garda John Delaney told Judge Finan the accused was charged at Balbriggan Garda station shortly after 1.10am on Thursday and 'made no reply'. He confirmed he intended to object to bail. However, defence solicitor Sandra Frayne told the judge her client was not making an application at this stage. She said he would seek bail on a future date and gardaí would be given advance notice. Mr Rostas, who is not related to the deceased, was wearing a black grey top, grey pants and black and white runners, and did not address the court. Judge Finan remanded him in custody to appear on July 3rd at Cloverhill District Court, with the defence solicitor saying her client preferred to appear in person and not via video link. Judge Finan granted legal aid after noting the accused was on a disability benefit and added the case would be listed for directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions on the next date. She also agreed to a defence request for appropriate medical attention for Mr Rostas while in custody. The charge is under section 4 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, 1997. Gardaí have appealed for anyone with footage from the area between 8.30 pm and 9.30 pm to make it available. They also ask that social media users not share footage of medics administering CPR to Mr Mircea at the scene.

Mr Quigley added that while an agreement has been made to discuss the issue with management at the transport provider, they will be seeking to meet with the Gardaí. 'We will also be seeking a larger meeting of all the relevant stakeholders, including the Gardaí, service users and elected representatives. 'However, it is our members' firm belief that the issue of worsening anti-social behaviour and abuse on the public transport network necessitates the establishment of a transport policing service.' Meanwhile, SIPTU Sector Organiser, John Murphy, branded the issues as a 'crisis' as he called for a standalone transport police service. 'SIPTU has been calling for the introduction of such a service as part of our Respect Transport Workers campaign,' he said. 'The Government has accepted our case on this issue and included the creation of such a body in its Programme for Government. Our members stand ready to work with all stakeholders to make the creation of such a service a reality in as short a time frame as possible.' Mr Murphy added that services must, and will continue, to operate in all communities as they try to resolve the issue. 'We believe the engagement with stakeholders to immediately bring greater safety for workers can be done in tandem with the work necessary to establish the foundations of the new transport policing service.' Last month, Gardai carried out spot checks on Dublin Bus over the bank holiday weekend in a bid to reduce the number of anti-social behaviour incidents on the service. In 2024, there were 1,054 incidents of anti-social behaviour on Dublin Bus reported, more than doubling since 2019.
