Odd Lots: How to Move Freight Across the Icy Roads of Alaska

We're interested in trucking here at Odd Lots. It's one of those industries that can tell us a lot about the economy, both in terms of the short-term cycle, and also long-term structural trends. Of course, we know that the industry is prone to big boom and bust cycles. And Alaska itself -- driven so much by oil and natural resource extraction -- is also known for its boom and bust cycles. So on our trip there, we spoke with Josh Norum, the CEO of Sourdough Express, an Alaska based trucking company that's been around for over a century. We talked about how the business works, the history of the company, the current economic environment, tariffs, and the unique challenge (and opportunity) of moving freight in America's northernmost state.

She says she has to be aware of the choices she makes, which could affect her future. Later, Emma tells Gio they are going to continue with their plan despite Anna's concerns. Previous General Hospital (GH) Recap: Anna and Jason Ponder Britt's Disappearance Rocco and Danny are trying to decide what to do with Outback when Liesl joins them and is gaga over the dog. Rocco tells her to take him but Liesl says she can't keep him at the hotel. Lulu spots Liesl talking to Rocco by the pool and tells Carly to evict her from the hotel. Carly says it would make things worse but Lulu pushes so she agrees. Alexis asks for Marco's help with Scout's case and grandparent's rights. Alexis says Drew isn't an unfit parent but he's made questionable choices. She wants to know if it's enough to get custody. Carly approaches Marco to discuss Lucas. She tells him not to make Lucas take a side between Sonny and Sidwell, but Marco denies doing that. Carly asks him to be transparent with her brother. Lulu gives Outback some lovin' and Rocco asks if they can take the dog. Lulu agrees. Liesl questions Carly on being evicted from her room. Carly claims there is mold in the room but Liesl is smarter than that and knows it was Lulu who orchestrated the eviction. Drew just wants to help her get her kids back, but she says he's the reason she lost them and doesn't want his help. Drew gets a call from the camp Scout is missing and heads out. When Alexis gets there, Jason tells her Danny took Scout out of camp and brought her to the mansion. Alexis understands Scout misses her brother as well as do Dante and Rocco. Willow thanks Lucas for coming to her defense but that she can handle him alone. Lucas doesn't understand why she is still speaking with Drew after what he did to her. Willow accuses him of policing her so he can report to Michael and Carly. Lucas says he's objective and hasn't been putting the kids' needs above her own. Willow says she sees Drew for who he is now but Lucas says she should have walked away. Willow gets upset and smacks Lucas in the face. Alexis questions Scout who says she always asks Drew to come to the mansion and he doesn't let her. She's sad she can't live with Danny and Rocco anymore. Jason chastises Danny for taking Scout, but Danny says his mother would want him to take care of his sister. Drew shows up with Chase, demanding to see Scout. He sends Scout out to the car then gets upset with them. Drew tells Chase to arrest Danny for kidnapping Scout. Vaughn and Josslyn make plans to walk the compound to find out where the tracker is and what information they can gather. Vaughn runs into Britt at the pool and the two make small talk about her life at the resort. Vaughn gets flirty but she notices the wedding ring on his finger. When Josslyn shows up, she recognizes Britt. Keep checking back for the latest General Hospital recaps!
