Real Madrid ‘name their price' for Rodrygo with Arsenal interested in transfer for Brazil star, 24

REAL MADRID have reportedly named their price to allow Rodrygo to leave the club this summer. Rodrygo, 24, has been linked with an exit from the Bernabeu during the summer transfer window, with Arsenal one of the clubs rumoured to be keen on a deal. 1 The Brazilian winger struggled for game time towards the back end of the season at Madrid, playing just 17 minutes across Madrid's last six La Liga matches of the campaign. While he has also left on the bench for the entirety of Los Blancos 3-1 Club World Cup win over Mexican side Pachuca at the weekend. New boss Xabi Alonso put those absences down to taking "some time that was good for him". Swirling rumours suggest that the 33-time Brazil cap could be looking for a way out, with Madrid open to letting him go for the right price. And Spanish outlet Cadena SER have claimed that the Champions League giants will ask for around £77million to sanction a sale. It's thought that Madrid would want to reinvest that cash in a new midfielder, having already brought in Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huijsen in the early stages of the window. The Athletic report that Arsenal are convinced they can offer Rodrygo an attractive sporting project that would allow him to play in his preferred position of left wing more regularly. While they also claim the Gunners are prepared to wait and see if he is definitely open to leaving Real Madrid, but won't wait too long with other targets for that position on the radar at the Emirates Stadium. Join SUN CLUB for the Arsenal Files every Friday plus in-depth coverage and exclusives from The Emirates Mikel Arteta and Co had been looking at a possible deal for Athletic Bilbao's Nico Williams, but the Spanish forward now looks set for a switch to Barcelona after agreeing personal terms with the Catalan club. While it's widely understood that Newcastle's Anthony Gordon is also on Arsenal's list of potential targets. Fulham eye £10m Zinchenko move Arsenal are yet to make their first official signing of the summer, but appear to be on the brink of sealing moves for goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and midfielder Martin Zubimendi in the coming days. The Gunners' top brass, including new transfer chief Andrea Berta, remain focused on bringing in a centre-forward during the window too. SunSport revealed last week that talks over a move for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko have stalled over the Slovenian's wage demands, while Sporting's Viktor Gyokeres remains a second choice. While it's also been claimed that Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins, who Arsenal failed to sign in January, is still admired and could return to the frame should they fail to land one of Sesko or Gyokeres. Inside Arsenal's frustrating striker transfer saga By Jordan Davies ARSENAL'S never-ending hunt for a world-class striker is in turmoil as deals for Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres stall. The Gunners were confident of doing their business quickly this summer after months of preparation by boss Mikel Arteta and new sporting director Andrea Berta. But inflated asking prices and broken gentlemen's agreements have derailed those plans and left Arsenal frustrated. Sesko believed he would be allowed to leave RB Leipzig for around £60million, while SunSport understands Gyokeres was told £59m would be enough to seal his own exit. But those price-tags have gone up, leaving Arsenal debating whether they represent value for money. While the players' camps are also growing restless, knowing the Gunners can only sign one of them. So what next? Will Arsenal keep waiting in the hope of fees eventually going down? Or turn to other targets, like Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike? Whatever they decide, with pre-season looming and the fixtures already out, Arteta will be desperate for them to move quickly to avoid another nearly season.

Chelsea's £50m move for Jamie Gittens 'could be done IMMINENTLY' as Blues continue talks for Borussia Dortmund star at the Club World Cup

Chelsea's move for Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Gittens could be finalised 'imminently', according to reports. The English forward has been linked with a move to west London throughout the summer, and the Blues had tried to push through with a deal ahead of the Club World Cup registration window. They were rebuffed then, however talks have reportedly continued regardless between the two parties, with hope of an agreement being met shortly, according to David Ornstein. Chelsea's pursuit of the young forward had appeared to hit a bit of a stumbling block when it emerged that Bayern Munich were interested. Their intervention, though, is now not thought to prove an issue, with the player himself preferring a move to Chelsea. Gittens, who came through the ranks at Manchester City before moving to Germany, is said to remain 'fully committed' to the concept of joining Chelsea this summer. An agreement is believed to be in place already between player and club, with terms including a seven-year deal which has become fairly routine for the Blues in recent seasons. With both teams at the Club World Cup in the United States, talks between the two have been aided somewhat, despite not being able to agree a deal ahead of the early window slamming shut for the tournament The Premier League side's initial £42million bid was rejected, with Dortmund wanting closer to £50m for their young star. Dortmund Sporting director Sebastian Kehl is confident the winger will remain 'professional' as speculation continues over his future in Germany. 'We've had one or two conversations with Jamie in the last few days,' Kehl said. 'He's professional enough to know he has to perform. That's also in his nature. Jamie will still be very important for us in this tournament. We'll see what happens after that. 'But I don't have a negative opinion of him.' Chelsea are considering a summer swoop for Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United, who are in turn looking at a potential move for Christopher Nkunku. Nkunku is not seen as a priority for United currently but rather an option. Garnacho has been on Chelsea's winger shortlist since January, when they were tempted to try for the 20-year-old Argentinian. It was noted at the time that they could hold an advantage over rival clubs if they revisited the transfer this summer. However, there could be concerns over his character, given his history of United fallouts.

'Very unfair' - Hart on Tevez's substitution controversy

On 27 September 2011, Manchester City were 2-0 down in a Champions League group game at Bayern a now infamous moment, Carlos Tevez appeared to refuse to warm up to be bought on, leading to City boss Roberto Mancini saying the striker was "finished" and he wanted him "out of the club".However, City's goalkeeper at the time, Joe Hart, has now reflected on the incident, saying Tevez and Mancini "were both right to an extent"."The whole drama surrounding Carlos during that Bayern Munich game I felt was very unfair," Hart told a special Football Daily episode on Tevez's legacy."Carlos did make himself available to come on the pitch, but he was asked to warm up, having already warmed up for 20 or 25 minutes, and then he was asked to warm up again to come on - and I'm pretty sure he said: 'I am warm.'"It was the first time we were losing that season and we were getting beaten by a very good Bayern Munich. Both very, very hostile characters, which was part of why they were both good at what they did. "But, at that moment, it clashed and it didn't work well because Roberto obviously repeated, 'you need to warm up to come on' and Carlos being strong-minded as he is, says, 'I don't, I am warm'."The incident appeared to be sparked by the substitution of striker Edin Dzeko in the second half, with Tevez seeming unhappy he was not called on. Minutes later, when Mancini indicated to the Argentine to warm up, Tevez refused."Mancini was very aggressive, very animated. He had a go at Edin for some reason, and then he went wild at Carlos."Both in broken English, they didn't really understand each other, and I could see Carlos trying to find out what was being said to him and when he realised what had been said to him, he felt really wronged."It was a classic case of two alpha males having a different version of the same event and neither being able to say, 'look, we both need to calm down here and just sort this out' - because they were both right to an extent."
