Weekend Wishlist: 9 bank holiday fashion and beauty finds
Kickstart the long weekend with a treat from the likes of All Saints, Nobody's Child and New Look
Congratulations, readers. You've made it to the end of the working week, and, for a reward, welcoming us with open arms is another glorious bank holiday weekend. With a long three-day rest ahead of us, many of us self-confessed shopaholics are filling our baskets in preparation for another momentous occasion - payday - securing a number of treats that we just deserve.
Each week, our fashion and beauty team puts together a carefully curated list of what we're coveting, from viral and influencer-approved garments (we're looking at Frankie Bridge here in these New Look sandals) to brand new launches. This week, our team is celebrating the arrival of Merit's new SPF as well as Abbott Lyon's recent collaboration with Carys Whittaker.
We've also found some stunning summer looks that need a spot in our wardrobe. Whether we're attending a wedding or simply attending our best mate's BBQ, we've shared just some of our top picks from Nobody's Child, All Saints, and Anthropologie that we've fallen in love with.
So without further ado, let's dive in.
Bethan's picks
Frankie Bridge's New Look chunky sandals - £27.99
Sandal season is upon us and a chunky black sandal is the must-have style yet again this summer, as proven this week by Loose Women 's Frankie Bridge. Over the weekend, the star stepped out in a pair of Black Leather-Look Chunky Sliders from New Look - and I'm obsessed.
The stylish kicks cost £27.99 and boast a chunky sole and cushioned padding. Featuring a slip-on design with rip-tape fastening, they're ideal for wearing around the pool or out to dinner. As we know, Frankie is a petite 5'3', so the chunky sole is great for adding some height to an outfit without necessarily needing to opt for a pair of heels.
They're an accessory that can be styled with various outfits, working well with shorts, skirts, dresses, and even jeans. One shopper hailed them as: 'Literally the most comfy shoes to have ever graced my feet,' though another wrote: 'Too chunky for me. Looked funny but very comfy.'
Ted Baker's new summer fragrance - £25
I'm a frequent fragrance rotator, and I love to match my daily perfume pick to my mood, outfit, and the weather. As the temperature rises, I've found myself moving away from the light, soft and airy scents of spring and into more tropical aromas, with Ted Baker's new fragrance Kasia fast becoming a go-to.
The perfume is powered by mood-boosting fragrance technology, meaning it really is 'joy in a bottle'. It's formulated using MoodScentz+ technology from Givaudan – a science-backed innovation proven to enhance feelings of happiness and wellbeing.
Inspired by 'golden hour warmth', it features notes of lychee, jasmine and pink hibiscus, alongside creamy coconut, vanilla, amber and sandalwood. It really is the ultimate 'holiday in a bottle scent' on a budget, and is every bit the sunny, mood-boosting escape it promises to be. It may not have the longevity of a more concentrated eau de parfum, but at £25 for 50ml, it's an easy yes for the months ahead.
Allsaints Smocked Sleeveless Tank Top - £59
When it comes to dressing for hot days, comfort and fit are key, and I love nothing more than an elevated sleeveless top to ensure I stay cool, without compromising on style, and this Allsaints top offers just that. The Ode Tank is crafted from a cool organic cotton ideal for sunny weather, with a round neck and sleeveless design to help beat the heat.
Available in sizes 6-16, it's fully smocked and elasticated throughout for ultimate comfort, with a slight flare at the hem that looks great paired with skinny jeans or denim shorts. The jade green hue is really pretty, but if purple is more your vibe, then there's a lilac version, too.
Lauren's picks:
Bohomoon Malina Cuff Bracelet - £28
As a self-confessed jewellery obsessive - think stacks of rings, layers of necklaces, and a never-ending rotation of earrings - I'm always searching for my next favourite piece. Lately, my wrists have been looking bare, and cuff bracelets have been everywhere recently, so I knew it was time. Enter this gorgeous shell cuff from Bohomoon.
Its beachy, sculptural silhouette is the ultimate statement piece for summer and festival season. I'm already picturing paired with a floaty dress, sandals and a few bangles on the other wrist. Plus, like all of Bohomoon's pieces, it's tarnish-free and waterproof - meaning no green marks, even if you're sweating it out at a festival or splashing around on holiday.
If you're after more jewellery that won't turn on after one wear, Hey Harper is another favourite of mine for quality, tarnish-free pieces. The brand's Bella hoop earrings are my go-to and never disappoint me.
Merit's The Uniform Tinted Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 - £34
Whenever I hear about a product with a waitlist before it's even launched, you can bet I'm already signed up. This time, the buzz was around Merit's The Uniform Tinted Mineral SPF, with 20,000 people in line ahead of its launch on Thursday (May 22).
The hype is justified. Uniform is the first 100% mineral sunscreen to feature advanced pigment dispersion technology, meaning it delivers ultra-sheer coverage across an impressive 15 skin tones. It's designed to offer light to medium coverage with a natural, skin-like finish - and I was seriously impressed when I put it to the test.
I opted for shade 28 (a fair-neutral warm tone), which blended seamlessly into my skin. It felt lightweight, covered blemishes and uneven skin tone in a single swipe, and, best of all, it didn't have a cakey finish. It's buildable, too, so you can dial it up if you prefer extra coverage.
If you're into breathable, multi-tasking formulas, another SPF I rate highly is Trinny London's BFF. I raved about it non-stop last year for its hydrating feel and glow-boosting finish.
Boux Avenue's Jordyn Pyjama Set - £35.20 from £44
I'm a sucker for a new pair of pyjamas. There's something about slipping into a fresh pair that feels like self-care - especially when they look as good as they feel.
Boux Avenue has long been one of my go-to sleepwear brands: its pieces are affordable without skimping on quality, and there's always a great mix of comfy cotton sets and sexier styles when I want to switch things up.
While I'm usually a fan of lightweight cotton pjs for summer, this week, I decided to lean into something a little more sultry - the Jordyn Pyjama Set. Think silky, slinky, and just a little dating. With delicate floral lace detailing and cute satin bows, it gives serious bedroom appeal.
Fair warning: the cups are sheer, so this isn't your throw-it-on-to-watch Netflix set. But if you're dressing up for a partner - or want to feel glam - this is a fab option. It's flattering, luxe against the skin and the kind of set that makes me want to sashay around my bedroom like I'm in a music video.
Eve's picks:
Anthropologie's Beaded Icon Charm Necklace - £58
I'm not ashamed to admit that I am a sucker for a trend. I jumped at the chance to add polka dots, butter yellow and gingham to my wardrobe this year. And one I've spotted on a number of fashion influencers of late is necklaces made from an array of colourful beads and finished with a dangly, bold charm. Oozing 90s chic, it's safe to say I'm obsessed and no doubt will be something on which my payday cheque will be spent.
On my hunt for one that wouldn't break the bank too much, didn't look too tacky (there's a fine line) and would go with a handful of summery outfits, I landed on Anthrpologie's Beaded Icon Charm Necklace that I found utterly... charming. I could see it going with so many casual and smart ensembles.
Crafted with a handful of different sized gems in blues, greens, oranges, whites and salmony pinks, the necklace is a playful addition to outfits that need a bit of a colour boost or that need a bit of texture. While its beads for me are such a standout feature, I love its sunshine charm that just brings a bit of joy. It's bold yet dainty, boho yet chic.
Costing £58, it's not exactly cheap but it is a lovely payday treat that'll certainly get its wear this summer. For something a little smaller, in terms of charm, I also fell in love with Estella Bartlett's Multi Facet Gemstone Spring Clasp Necklace, £55, which features a smaller round drop charm and more uniform gems that are equally as vibrant. Made from Waterproof PVD 14ct gold, the necklace has been made to remain shiny for years to come and features gems such as Tiger's Eye, Green Jade, and Cerise Jade.
Nobody's Child's Floral Ellis Midi Dress - £89
As someone who has what feels like a gazillion weddings this year (okay, eight), I'm constantly on the hunt for dresses that suit a handful of different wedding themes to fit the bill for more than one occasion - I'm all about recycling. Now, as a fashion writer, I spend a lot of my time sifting through brands such as Nobody's Child and earlier in the week stumbled upon a stunning blue flower-adorned dress that I know would be ideal for black tie events, summer garden party nuptials, beach vibes, home and away ceremonies - the lot.
With an asymetric one shoulder style t hat is great for warmer weather, the dress is made from 100% LENZING™ ECOVERO™ Viscose, making it lovely and lightweight, and pretty floaty to just glide over the body.
While some people might wince at me suggesting a cream background dress, its bright blue - and dramatically large - flowers decorating the frock make it rather un-bridal and appropriate as a wedding guest (I can say this as a former bride as it's unlikely the wearer of this dress will be mistaken for the star of the show).
Plus, with a handful of blue or green accessories, it adds brightness and colour and requires very little effort to look chic. Costing £89, the Ellis dress' midi length is modest while its bodice is flattering and figure-enhancing. Plus, for those who get hot easily, with one strappy shoulder, it's a summer wedding dream.
Although for those who'd rather avoid any sort of light colours, I get it, the brand's Blue Satin Bandeau Ellie Midi Dress, £89 is a showstopper that'll make its wearer a vision in blue, while the £150 pink floral Anya dress is ideal for those wanting to cover up their arms.
Abbott Lyon X Carys Whittaker
I do love a new jewellery haul and the celeb and influencer loved jewellery brand Abbott Lyon has recently launched a brand new range with Welsh lifestyle influencer and fashion brand owner Carys Whittaker which is packed full of pieces that have been made to help its wearer feel 'confident' and 'make any outfit feel a little more special'.
The collection features heart huggie earrings that come in an array of different colours from light blue to pink depending on the precious gem inside and in gold and silver metal, a matching bracelet, £69, that has hearts filled in with white quartz, blue lace agate and pink opal, as well as a multi crystal cursive name necklace, £95.
With the option of adding up to five names, all of which are crafted with a luxurious cubic zirconia crystal finish, the necklace is available in gold and silver and wide range of chain lengths too.
Made from water, sweat and heat-resistant stainless steel, it's a long-lasting addition to any jewellery collection that adds a lovely personal, and confidence boosting, touch.

‘You'll upstage the bride' people fume as wedding guest shows off very revealing dress that's ‘way too fancy'
And scroll down to see which celebs have been breaking the rules too FROCK NO 'You'll upstage the bride' people fume as wedding guest shows off very revealing dress that's 'way too fancy' Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A FASHIONISTA has come under fire after showing off her wedding guest outfit that trolls insist will ''upstage the bride''. Wedding season has well and truly arrived, which means many people have been taking to social media to share their stylish frocks and gowns. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 People have accused this wedding guest of 'upstaging the bride' with this dress Credit: Not known, clear with picture desk But one woman has left people demanding she changes her outfit for a close pal's garden wedding. The dress code detailed in the digital invite asked guests to "get just a little bit fancy" with chinos listed as an option for men and "dress/skirts" for female attendees. From this brief, the woman opted for a sleeveless floor length silver satin dress with a deep plunging V-neck. And even she seems unsure about her choice, after sharing a picture of her final look in the Wedding Dress & DIY Facebook page. Alongside the snap, she wrote: "Is this too intense to wear as a guest It's at a garden venue inspired by the French countryside. "I'm concerned this is a bit too much for the venue/garden vibes.. and potentially even a little too close to white? "The bride is a close family friend but I don't want to bother her when she has so much on her mind. "Bridesmaids are wearing burgundy red. Please help me out here; suitable attire or too much?" Her post quickly racked up almost 1,000 comments with plenty of fashion fans having their say. Not only did people warn her that it was "too revealing" and would take attention away from the bride, but others claimed its colour broke a basic rule because it looked near-white. Frankie Bridge slammed by fans again for SHEER wedding guest dress that's 'too much' and will 'upstage the bridge' Wearing ivory as a wedding guest is often considered a cardinal sin and the ultimate insult to the bride. One person said: "Too close to white and it looks too good. You'll show up the bride! Don't wear it to a wedding!" A second wrote: "So you want to wear a wedding dress to somebody else's fairly casual wedding…I think you already know the answer…" A third fumed "no, you'll upstage the bride" while someone claimed: "Too revealing for a will be on you not the bride." "Nope it's to fancy for what the invite says and also it looks like you're the bride", chimed in a fifth. Wedding Guest Outfit Etiquette If you're struggling to decided on a dress to see you through wedding season, here's a few rules on what not to wear so you don't get in trouble. Folklore says that wearing red at a wedding means you slept with the groom. Casual attire like jeans and flip flops should always be avoided. Any colour that could be picked up as white or cream - even if it's not. Most would agree that your cleavage needs to be covered. Wearing white is a massive no-no if you're not the bride. And a sixth echoed: "I definitely thought you were asking if it was too plungy to wear as a bride... then realised you're a guest." Others, however, jumped in to support the wedding guest and urged her to wear the show-stopping frock. One said: "Am I the only one saying the dress is fine for the dress code instructions? Lol." "I'd wear this gown; it's beautiful and you look beautiful in it", another insisted. A third agreed: "It's gorgeous. Not white. Wear it. Always better to be too dressed up than too dressed down." Meanwhile, a fourth wrote: "I don't think it matters if it's more casual or not. Just wear it if you like it and don't care what ppl thing if you feel beautiful or sexy in it. It looks amazing on you." Celebs aren't exempt from making fashion faux pas at weddings either. When Dani Dyer wed footballer Jarrod Bowen last week, guest and fellow Love Islander Georgia Steel was slated for wearing what looked like a revealing white dress to her pal's big day. After Georgia posted a snap on TikTok of the lace-trimmed Miss Circle number she wore, the trolls came out in force, bashing her for picking what was in fact a 'soft beige' dress. 'Wearing white to a wedding?' questioned one, while another waded in with: 'Way too bridal for a wedding.' And Georgia isn't alone. Two months ago, White Lotus actress Sydney Sweeney came under fire for the 'inappropriate' dress she wore to her Anyone But You co-star Glenn Powell's sister's wedding. She chose a cleavage-baring corset-style dress from V Chapman in a very pale blue. Fans thought the colour was an issue. Comments included: 'That is not an appropriate shade of blue for a wedding' and 'The number one [rule] of a wedding is don't wear anything close to white.'

We Tried The Lululemon Maxi Dress Everyone's Obsessed With – And Yes, It's Worth the Hype
What's the most fashion forward dress you can wear this summer? That viral Nobody's Child polka dot dress? A celeb-approved Dôen dress? Neither, actually, if the internet is to be believed. No, it would seem that the dress of the season is a maxi from Lululemon. You might be more familiar with Lululemon as the go-to spot for buttery soft Align leggings and athleisure sets that take you from Pilates to brunch with ease, but the activewear brand evidently has a few more tricks up its sleeve. The most recent addition that's calling our attention is the brand's 2-in-1 maxi dress. Unlike most dresses we wax lyrical about, the Lululemon 2-in-1 maxi is simple and largely devoid of intricate details and trendy patterns. Yet, it more than manages to justify its £128 price tag thanks to its genius versatile design. As the name suggests, the dress can be worn two ways: as a strapless drop-waist maxi, and as a long skirt with the bodice folded over. As well as offering an easy blank canvas that can be dressed up or down with ease, the maxi dress also benefits from the brand's activewear know-how and is crafted from its signature four-way stretch, sweat-wicking and naturally breathable fabric that feels luxe while keeping you comfortable and looks good on an array of body types. ©Instagram/@christinalasekstyling 2-in-1 Maxi Dress in Green I could go on and on about how effortlessly elegant and wearable the Lululemon maxi dress is, but that's no use to you without some styling guidance, and the multi-wear dress presents an array of styling options. On our Instagram feeds, influencers are sporting the strapless dress with a raffia bag and wedge heels or suede sandals for a relaxed sunny day. Of course, you could also lean into the athleisure of it all and wear the dress with a denim jacket and chunky trainers or dress it up with kitten heels and plenty of gold jewellery. As a skirt, it'll work wonders with a baby tee and elevated flip flops on holiday, while a boho blouse and cowboy boots will put you in a festival state of mind no matter if you're heading to Glastonbury or not. The Lululemon website proclaims that the dress is 'voted most versatile', and if I'm being honest, we're inclined to agree. As with most viral hits, the 2-in-1 maxi is also selling out fast, so if you manage to find your size in stock, we suggest you skip the hesitation. Trust us, this is a dress you'll be wearing multiple ways for years to come. 2-in-1 Maxi Dress in Black 2-in-1 Maxi Dress in Brown 2-in-1 Maxi Dress in Ivory Main image credits: ©Instagram/@meg_legs @iamcarissarenee Hitanshi Kamdar is a senior commerce writer for Grazia. Top postcard print picks from New Look, Nobody's Child and more
Minimalist fashion fans, look away now, this trend it all about dopamine dressing, playful prints and bold colourways As a fashion writer, I've learned to spot a trend from a mile away, and this summer there's one print that's been dominating my social media, high street window shopping sessions and online scrolls. There's no denying that for SS25, it's all about postcard prints. What is the postcard print? Well, I'm glad you asked. This playful design is characterised vibrant boxes or stamp-shapes adorned with feel-good, summer emblems such as fruit, suns, shells, tiles, florals, palm trees, olives - it's the fashion equivalent of a picky tea of all your warm-weather favourites, packaged in the style of a retro holiday scrapbook. The combination of colour, cheerful prints and a healthy dose of nostalgia make this a real standout trend, and one that's incredibly wearable. That said, it's not a style movement for those who favour minimalism and neutrals, which is worth bearing in mind. However, who's not to say they won't be tempted by some of my top picks. I've picked out four of the best postcard printed pieces available now on the high street, from favourites like Joanie, Nobody's Child and New Look. From dreamy dresses to cool and casual co-ords, here are four picks that prove postcard print is this summer's hero trend. Joanie Ithaca Postcard Print Boilersuit – £79 The postcard print was practically made for Joanie's vintage-inspired designs, and their Ithaca boilersuit is an easy, one-and-done outfit that makes summer styling a breeze. Made from organic cotton with a soft stretch, it's tailored for all day comfort without sacrificing style. Coming in sizes 8-26, the one-piece boasts a classic collar and short sleeves with an all-over watercolour postcard print. But don't be fooled into believing this is only good for warm weather dressing, because I've seen many fashion enthusiasts layer these boilersuits over a long sleeve t-shirt or rollneck for a spring or autumn vibe. You might struggle to style the sunshine-y print in the depths of winter, though. The elasticated waist is a big bonus, making it a flattering fit for all body types, while the pockets make it as practical as it is pretty. Plus shoppers have been raving about it, with one commenting: 'Love this jumpsuit, the watercolour print is beautiful, the material is quality and it fits like a dream.' Another added: 'Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous! The print is beautiful the size I went up a size otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get on and off as I'm big busted and a big girl. It look so gorgeous on and I can't wait to wear it out.' Nobody's Child Starlight Midi Dress – £110 For something a little less kitsch, Nobody's Child offers a more contemporary take on the trend with their bestselling design - the Starlight dress. Available in sizes 6-18, it wins wearers over with romantic puff sleeves, covered buttons and a waist panel that skims in all the right places. The low v-neck is super flattering, and it even has pockets, meaning it ticks all the boxes of a summer statement piece. While Nobody's Child's website doesn't have any reviews, we did find some at Simply Be and John Lewis, with one shopper commenting: 'I'm absolutely obsessed with this dress. It fits perfectly - I usually wear a size 14, but the size 12 is spot on! The material is ridiculously soft and feels amazing against my skin. Plus, the gorgeous fruit stamp design is just the perfect touch. I'm so in love with this purchase! Five stars isn't enough - I'd give it ten stars if I could.' However, another added that the linen-heavy fabric, while ideal for the warm weather, is prone to creasing. They added: 'The dress is so different, in a good way, and the quality is fantastic. My only concern, which is my fault as I didn't read all of the description, is that there's a high content of linen which obviously makes the material very creased. Because there's so much dress, it'll be quite a chore to iron, or I could pay to get it professionally ironed, which would make it the dress that keeps on taking! Apart from that, it is a lovely, unusual dress which I'd definitely recommend.' New Look Cream Postcard Print Midi Dress – £34.99 As beautiful as the Nobody's Child dress is, there's no denying it carries a more premium price tag, as such, I've found a more affordable alternative in this New Look Cream Postcard Print Midi Dress for £34.99. Featuring tie detail at the neckline and flowy sleeves, it's decorated with a gorgeous postcard print. Coming in sizes 6-20, it's an easy piece to throw on and feel instantly pulled together. Its only review so far is five stars, with a happy customer praising its "flattering' fit, 'good length', and 'lovely light material." ASOS DESIGN Postcard Print Shirt and Trouser Co-ord – £24 (top), £26 (trousers) If dresses aren't your style, a co-ord is a super cool way to wear the trend, and ASOS is delivering all the chilled-out, coastal-grandpa vibes with this two-piece set. It comes in four sizes ranging from XS to L and is made from a lightweight linen-look fabric. The trousers offer a wide-leg silhouette and bloat-friendly drawstring waist, while the shirt's revere collar makes for a relaxed but put-together look. It's a really versatile two-piece that looks amazing worn together or split up. Perfect for packing light - or just looking like you did.
