In life, it is important to break it down and show the crowd how it's really done, with dance moves. AirAsia has done it, this Foodpanda delivery rider has done it, and every day, someone is shuffling.
The most recent viral story of a dance routine was at a military tattoo performance at the Tuanku Syed Putra Stadium in Kangar, Perlis, which went viral over the weekend. Malaysians could not get enough of the armed forces' smooth moves. The performance, believed to have been by the Central Band of the Royal Malay Regiment and the Platoon Serunai, was part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the Raja of Perlis.
At 98,000 shares, over 1,000 comments, and 12,000 shares, the TikTok video showed band members in full regalia in a pulsating formation, in a rare fusion of tradition and contemporary enjoyment, commemorating the Perlis Sultan's 25th anniversary on the state throne. The mesmerising display even included tossing batons up in the air, and one of the drummers joined the shuffling group from behind to the front with band leaders breaking it down like there's no tomorrow.
Just as electrifying is the line-up of songs ranging from LMFAO's 'Party Rock Anthem' to traditional Malay, to Rosé and Bruno Mars' 'APT', to 'Hold My Hands' by the Beatles. The flashing lights and cheering crowd truly completed the spectacle, making it a performance to behold. Online, netizens also applauded the band in the comments.
'Owner of the shuffling soldier present!' 'Stadium lights present!' 'Grass present!'. Jokes aside, there is no lack of enthusiasm for the display; many netizens praise the contemporary spin on what seems to be such a formal ritual. Some speculated about the approval of the shuffling because it seemed so far out that the big suits would approve of such a contemporary move.

'It's to ensure a safety net': Malaysian super diva Khadijah Ibrahim encourages musicians to move into business

Malaysia's legendary diva Khadijah Ibrahim believes young musicians and celebrities to not just rely on income from the entertainment world alone, but instead start planning for the future by joining the world of entrepreneurship while their names are still relevant and widely known According to her, the entertainment world sometimes can be unstable and even fickle at times so therefore, young celebrities are encouraged to use their popularity as a springboard to build a strong personal and business brand from the very beginning. "I have seen many of my musician friends who have fallen into despair after no longer being active on the entertainment stage. When their names are no longer mentioned, job offers are decreasing, and eventually, they lose their source of income. I don't want this to happen to the younger generation today. I have seen it so many times that I just want a better world for the younger ones," said Khadijah. Khadijah, who is also the Chairman of Karyawan, Malaysia's association for music industry staff, said it is also good for celebrities to be creative in their career and venture into other fronts that can help their career. And using their popularity to push themselves in the business is not at all a wrong step to take as it also gives them another avenue to look for extra funds for their future. "Learn about the ins and outs of business. Don't just be an ambassador or 'name' for a product. Go out into the field, find out about marketing, management, and production. If we don't understand it ourselves, others will easily take advantage," Khadijah added. Khadijah also shared her experience as an artist who transitioned into business by establishing her own food company, including the brand Sos Cili Ibu, which is now increasingly gaining a place in the hearts of consumers both domestically and internationally. "Doing business gives me satisfaction because it not only generates continuous income, but also opens up job opportunities for others and contributes to the national economy. I'm happy to be involved in the food industry now. "I started with a product that I loved and my love for food. I also know Malaysians love spicy food, so I created an original, locally made chilli sauce, now known as Sos Cili Ibu," he said. Khadijah and Sos Cili Ibu Meet Her Fans at Singapore Expo Khadijah has big plans for her product. She showcased her product at the Singapore Expo an event which was held in conjunction with the Malaysia Fest from July 31 to Aug 3. Many of her fans in Singapore crowded the show hall when Khadijah introduced the product to Singaporeans. On top of that, her Sos Cili Ibu was also given the thumbs up by top Malaysian artistes, including the likes of Datuk Siti Nurhaliza, Ifa Raziah, Zaiton Sameon, Jasmin Hamid, dan many more. "I was overwhelmed by the support from fans and visitors at the Singapore Expo. Many came not just to buy sauce, but also to take pictures and share memories of my musical heyday. It was a pretty sweet experience," she said. Khadijah also announced besides Singapore, the chili sauce is also available in Indonesia and Brunei. On top of that, she and her team are also in talks with a major distributor who has chains in 23 other countries. For the record, Khadijah, better known as Kathy Ibrahim, has been an active singer since the 70s and is also one of the few artists in Malaysia who has produced her own album every decade since then. Her famous song "Kupendam Sebuah Duka" is a glorious ballad that is played in almost every household to this day. One of Malaysia's most profound vocalists, she continues to mesmerise music fans to this day. Besides being a brilliant musician, she is also an established actress and now an inspiring businesswoman. At the age of 66, many of us will be thinking of slowing down and even thinking of retiring from the workforce. For Khadijah, she is now making a name for herself in the business world. And for sure, fans will be wishing her the best of success in her new venture.

Steady Gang's Tomato & Haoren Apologise; Cooperating With MCMC Over 'Negaraku' Controversy

While August is Malaysia's Independence month, it seems that there have been many issues involving our national identity. Recently, influencers and Steady Gang members Haoren (朱浩仁) and Tomato (李明鴻) found themselves in hot water for disrespecting the national anthem. For those unaware of the issue, it stemmed from a video that Haoren posted over the weekend. In the video taken at an award ceremony, the influencer, along with his Steady Gang group mate Tomato, were singing along to the national anthem, 'Negaraku'. However, their gestures and playful antics while singing the anthem sparked outrage, with many netizens calling it disrespectful. Haoren quickly deleted the video and issued an apology. Unfortunately, the apology didn't seem to fix the situation. The video also caught the attention of local politicians, who then called for authorities to investigate the influencer. At the same time, many netizens were also calling for authorities to take action against Tomato, who at this point have yet to issue an apology. A couple of days after the issue first blew up, the two media personalities took to their socials to once again apologise for the controversy. In his apology letter written in Mandarin and Malay, Tomato expressed regret over his actions. The public figure, whose real name is Lai Hong Ming, also said that he will take responsibility and learn from his mistakes. Meanwhile, Haoren's second apology, also written in Mandarin and Malay, included an explanation for why he took the video. According to the influencer, he wanted to preserve a memory of the event. Still, he had no intention of disrespecting the 'Negaraku'. Both Steady Gang members stated they're cooperating with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) in its investigation. Netizens have since reacted to the two apology letters, thanking Haoren and Tomato for taking responsibility for their mistake. However, some voiced scepticism, arguing that this isn't the first time the two public figures had caused controversy. Since the MCMC investigation is still ongoing, it's unknown whether Haoren and Tomato would receive punishment for the controversy. Regardless, we hope everything goes well for them and that they will reflect on their mistakes. Sources: Instagram (1)(2)
