New Peppa Pig Theme Park in North Texas opens Saturday
A popular pig amongst the young ones has a new amusement park opening in North Richland Hills this weekend.
Fox - 4 News
Peppa Pig Theme Park Dallas / Fort Worth is designed to be a first theme park experience for preschoolers.
The park features five rides, nine play areas, live shows, and a cinema playing episodes of Peppa Pig.
Single-day admission starts at $27.99, and annual passes cost $99.99.
Everybody is welcome at America's newest theme park, but Peppa Pig Theme Park Dallas / Fort Worth wasn't built for everybody.
'It's really designed to be like a first theme park for kids,' Merlin Entertainments spokesperson Julie Estrada told USA TODAY ahead of the park's grand opening on Saturday. Merlin is the parent company of Peppa Pig Theme Parks, LEGOLAND resorts, Madame Tussauds and many other attractions around the world.
Like its sister parks in Central Florida and Günzburg, Germany, this new Peppa Pig Theme Park is aimed at families with preschoolers.
'We are hoping families will create memories of a lifetime here,' Merlin's CEO Fiona Eastwood said in a statement.
Here's what guests can expect at the Texas park.
Pint-sized play
The park features five rides and nine different plays areas, all designed for kids ages six and younger.
"There really aren't theme parks for those that want to experience their first theme park experience, that have those pink-knuckle roller coasters where you're just excited enough, you're not scared, you're not terrified,' Estrada said. 'It's a gentle ride experience where you are experiencing it for the first time with your family.'
Grown-ups are welcome to ride alongside their kids. Families can also meet Peppa Pig and watch live shows in Mr. Potato's Showtime Arena or episodes of Peppa Pig's namesake TV show in the park's indoor Cinema.
A familiar feel
Stepping into the park will feel like stepping into the beloved show with readily recognizable characters and scenes. It will also feel like Peppa Pig Theme Park Florida, since the parks share the same attractions and entertainment offerings.
But there are a few differences. For instance, in Texas, the bicycle and tricycle riding area, Peppa's Pedal Bike Tour and Georgia's Tricycle Trail, is indoors.
'Which is great because it can be cold sometimes, and it can be hot at some points, so if you want to get in and enjoy the air conditioning, if you want to get out of the elements from outside, then you can go there,' Estrada said.
The Texas park also has a standalone Mrs. Cow's Milkshake Shack serving Muddy Puddle Milkshakes, which are very popular in Florida.
Fun for everyone
Guests with disabilities and/or sensory sensitivity can find the right experiences for them by referring to the park's online accessibility and sensory guide and sensory placards at each attraction. They are also quiet spaces for sensory breaks.
Like all Peppa Pig Theme Park Florida and all three U.S. LEGOLAND resorts, the park has been certified by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards as a Certified Autism Center.
'Merlin Entertainments is dedicated to providing safe, inclusive and engaging experiences for all families,' the park's General Manager Jeremy Aguillen said in a statement.
Traveling with disabilities: What fellow travelers should know
Where is the Peppa Pig Theme Park?
Peppa Pig Theme Park Dallas / Fort Worth is located at 8851 26 Blvd. in North Richland Hills, Texas. That's northeast of Fort Worth.
Merlin has three other properties in nearby Grapevine, Texas: a LEGOLAND Discovery Center, a Sea Life Aquarium and an indoor Peppa Pig World of Play, which Estrada likened to an appetizer for the theme park.
The company previously told USA TODAY, "North Texas is growing and vibrant – Merlin Entertainments is excited to have the opportunity to add a world-class entertainment experience to residents and visitors alike."
Universal is also building a family-focused Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, Texas.
How much are tickets?
Single-day admission to Peppa Pig Theme Park Dallas / Fort Worth starts at $27.99.
Annual passes cost $99.99 per person and cover both the theme park and Peppa Pig World of Play Dallas.

UFL 2025: Best hot mic moments from Week 10

Week 10 of the 2025 UFL season has come and gone, and we're officially switching gears to the playoffs, which kick off Sunday, June 8. The postseason schedule was set before the final week of the regular season, but football fans were still treated to some fantastic action in the final week. On Friday, the St. Louis Battlehawks took down the DC Defenders on the road in a 13-8 victory on FOX. Both teams rested some players, as these two squads will face each other again soon in the XFL Conference Championship Game. The Houston Roughnecks traveled to Ford Field and took down the Michigan Panthers on Saturday, 19-12. In Sunday's doubleheader, the Arlington Renegades came out with a 23-6 win over the San Antonio Brahmas , followed by the Birmingham Stallions crushing the Memphis Showboats by 37 points on the road, 46-9. Michigan and Birmingham are back in action soon, facing each other in the USFL Conference Championship Game. Here are the best hot mic moments from Week 10! "Sit your f****** ass down!" Battlehawks defensive tackle Austin Faoliu and linebacker Mike Rose got to Defenders quarterback Mike DiLiello for a sack and informed the signal-caller that it was time for him to sit his "f****** ass down." "Wait, there's a penalty. We got to go back, though." Panthers quarterback Rocky Lombardi appeared to have a 49-yard rushing touchdown and was pumped after the big scoring play. However, he later realized that the play was being called back due to a penalty. "That was clean" Showboats quarterback Troy Williams took a hit from Delontae Scott after just getting off a pass. Williams later told the Stallions linebacker "that was clean." "No!" Panthers head coach Mike Nolan was passionately trying to get his players out of a fight that was unfolding. "Get DK to calm the … fudge down." Prior to a fourth-and-10, Brahmas head coach Payton Pardee wanted a player on his team (presumably offensive lineman Derrick Kelly II) to "calm the fudge down." Surely, that's what he meant to say. "You better get your ass down!" Renegades quarterback Luis Perez rushed for a 7-yard touchdown with 6:25 remaining in the first half and dove for the score. After the play, Perez's teammate told him that he has to "get his ass down" on those rushes. "Are you kidding me?" In at quarterback for the Renegades, Holton Ahlers was intercepted by Brahmas safety Jalen Elliott, and Ahlers was incredulous after the turnover. "Block the f*** out of that guy!" Showboats head coach Jim Turner wanted his team to "block the f***" out of a player on the Stallions. Turner also kept yelling "Tom" throughout the game. "Oh, you ass!" DiLiello got the call on the run for the Defenders, and the quarterback stiff-armed Battlehawks cornerback Myles Sims. After the play, DiLiello informed Sims that he was "ass." "God dang" Showboats quarterback Dresser Winn was politely sacked by Stallions defensive end Myjai Sanders, who had two sacks on the day. Winn responded to the play with a "god dang." "Y'all better lift!" Stallions quarterback J'Mar Smith picked up a one-point conversion with his legs on a play. After the play, Smith repeatedly told the defense that they "better lift" — with somebody on the Showboats defense saying "yeah, we do." Want great stories delivered right to your inbox? Why This Baby Name Has Shot Up More Than 100% in Popularity This Week

It's a girl! The hottest news in the preschool set is the arrival of Peppa Pig's little sibling. Speculation has brewed for months about whether Peppa would be getting a little sister or another brother. On May 30, the newest member of the Pig family made their debut — a sister! Not only that, but Peppa's sister's name was also announced: Evie, a name that means "life." She was named after Mummy Pig's aunt. Now, it's no secret that Peppa is a trend-setter. She's made preschoolers speak in faux English accents and say things like "sun cream" instead of sunscreen. She's beefed with celebrities like Adele and earned high marks for her album on taste-making music websites. But will the newest addition to the Pig family boost the baby name Evie? Evidence shows, she already has. The baby-naming website Nameberry keeps track of interest in names among its users. The site reports there's a 102% increase in interest in this week. The name is hot, and getting hotter! (Even Pokémon has declared 2025 the "Year of Eevee," but of course the Pokémon is spelled differently.) Then again, the Pig family may be jumping on a trend rather than starting it. The Social Security Administration keeps track of baby-name popularity in the United States going back to the year 1900, maintaining a list of the 1,000 most popular names each year. The name Evie actually dropped off the list in 1942, and stayed absent from it for decades — but not forever. In 2007, it re-entered the list as the 807th most popular name, and it's been steadily getting more popular ever since. Last year, it reached No. 284. The name Evelyn, which could use Evie as a nickname, is even more successful. Unlike Evie, Evelyn has been hanging around the SSA list since the 1900s. And while it was an extremely popular name at the turn of the century, it only managed to crack into the top 10 once in the 20th century, in 1915, when it was No. 10. But since the '90s, it's been steadily climbing, and Evelyn actually had its best-ever year last year, reaching the No. 8 spot on the SSA list for the first time. It's safe to say the name has already eclipsed Peppa itself, since Peppa doesn't appear at all on the SSA top 1,000. (Neither do similar variants, like Pippa, or names that could use Peppa as a nickname, like Philippa.) George, now the middle child, is also in the middle of Evie and Evelyn in terms of name popularity: His name is No. 124 on the SSA list. It'll be interesting to see how these shift as the Pig family, now a family of five, finds its new footing. Broadcasting Stocks Q1 Teardown: E.W. Scripps (NASDAQ:SSP) Vs The Rest

As the craze of earnings season draws to a close, here's a look back at some of the most exciting (and some less so) results from Q1. Today, we are looking at broadcasting stocks, starting with E.W. Scripps (NASDAQ:SSP). Broadcasting companies have been facing secular headwinds in the form of consumers abandoning traditional television and radio in favor of streaming services. As a result, many broadcasting companies have evolved by forming distribution agreements with major streaming platforms so they can get in on part of the action, but will these subscription revenues be as high quality and high margin as their legacy revenues? Only time will tell which of these broadcasters will survive the sea changes of technological advancement and fragmenting consumer attention. The 7 broadcasting stocks we track reported a strong Q1. As a group, revenues beat analysts' consensus estimates by 1.1% while next quarter's revenue guidance was 0.6% below. In light of this news, share prices of the companies have held steady as they are up 4.6% on average since the latest earnings results. Founded as a chain of daily newspapers, E.W. The general rise in the price of goods and services is trending towards the Fed's 2% goal as of late, which is good news. The higher rates that fought inflation also didn't slow economic activity enough to catalyze a recession. So far, soft landing. This, combined with recent rate cuts (half a percent in September 2024 and a quarter percent in November 2024) have led to strong stock market performance in 2024. The icing on the cake for 2024 returns was Donald Trump's victory in the U.S. Presidential Election in early November, sending major indices to all-time highs in the week following the election. Still, debates around the health of the economy and the impact of potential tariffs and corporate tax cuts remain, leaving much uncertainty around 2025.
