Giannis Antetokounmpo trade rumors: How the Raptors could pull off this giant deal
Last month, NBA fans learned that Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo was reportedly "open-minded" about a trade.
It makes sense that Antetokounmpo would potentially have this on his mind considering that Milwaukee's season ended in such embarrassing fashion. Their future does not look particularly bright, either, considering that their star point guard Damian Lillard recently suffered a torn Achilles.
Several teams have emerged as potential suitors for his services with the Rockets and the Spurs emerging as early favorites. Even the Mavericks caused some whispers after they shockingly won the 2025 NBA Draft Lottery, though now it seems more likely they will simply draft Cooper Flagg.

Many of the other usual suspects are often mentioned when folks speculate about where Antetokounmpo is eventually traded.
But in the past few days, a new team is gaining some momentum as a surprising suitor as well: The Toronto Raptors.
According to Toronto Star reporter Doug Smith, there is "mutual interest" between Antetokounmpo and the Raptors.
ESPN's Brian Windhorst also separately reported that the Raptors are "looking for a big fish" in the trade market.
The Raptors reportedly tried to draft Antetokounmpo when he was a prospect back in 2013 and the superstar has deep ties to Toronto executive Masai Ujiri.
Meanwhile, per Raphael Barlowe, the father of a player projected to hear his name in the 2025 NBA Draft Lottery said that the Bucks have done "background work" to research his son. Milwaukee does not have a pick until No. 47, but the Raptors are on the clock at No. 9 overall.
Perhaps the framework of the deal would involve the pick as well as several other assets on Toronto's roster.
Toronto would also have to include one of their players on bigger contracts (e.g. Brandon Ingram, RJ Barrett, or Immanuel Quickley) for salary-matching and some of their younger assets to entice Milwaukee, but all of this is entirely possible if the interest is as strong as it is beginning to seem.

$43 Million PGA Tour Golfer Joins Rory McIlroy in Unfortunate News Entering the Weekend

$43 Million PGA Tour Golfer Joins Rory McIlroy in Unfortunate News Entering the Weekend originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The 2025 RBC Canadian Open at TPC Toronto is in full swing, and it's already shaping up to be one of the most dramatic events on the PGA Tour calendar. After two rounds of play, it's Cameron Champ, a late addition to the field, who finds himself on top. With an opening round of 62 followed by a smooth 66, Champ holds a two-stroke lead and remains the only bogey-free player through 36 holes. Advertisement Behind him are Andrew Putnam and a strong chasing pack including Victor Perez, Denmark's Thorbjorn Olesen and Shane Lowry. But while some are soaring, others are heading home early. The weekend field has been trimmed, and four big names won't be around, Rory McIlroy, Max Homa, Luke Clanton, and David Ford all missed the cut. Max Homa, who came heartbreakingly close, finished one shot short of the cutline at 2-under. His missed 13-foot birdie putt on the 18th sealed his early exit. It's a rare misstep for the 34-year-old, who has earned over $43 million in career prize money and is one of the Tour's top competitors. As for McIlroy, the missed cut is particularly shocking. This is the first time he's failed to make a weekend since The Open Championship last July. His second-round 78 included a disastrous quadruple-bogey on the 5th hole and a double on the 11th. Advertisement 'I think there's still learnings that you have to take from a day like today,' McIlroy admitted. He now faces an unexpected break ahead of the U.S. Open at Oakmont. Could the Boston Celtics find a way to trade for Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo?

Could the Boston Celtics find a way to trade for Milwaukee Bucks star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo? It is the biggest open secret perhaps in the league that the Greek Freak is not long for the Bucks, and will likely be traded to another ball club soon unless he makes it clear he wants to remain in Milwaukee. But with the Celtics also staring down a historic payroll and tax bill as well, it seems like a hard row to hoe to reduce the salary on Boston's roster while also landing a player making the sort of max money Giannis currently is taking home. Just how realistic are these ideas of getting Antetokounmpo to the Celtics?
