Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski had about as eventful an MLB debut as you're going to see.
The Brewers' top pitching prospect, a second-round pick in 2022, fired five innings of no-hit ball Thursday night against the St. Louis Cardinals before exiting in the sixth inning following a freak ankle injury. After throwing ball 3 to Victor Scott II, Misiorowski's right ankle bent awkwardly as he moved to return to the mound.
The 6-foot-7, 197-pound pitcher exited with a trainer to a standing ovation. Misiorowski, 23, struck out five and walked four while allowing no hits on 81 pitches (49 strikes). The fireballer had 14 pitches meet or exceed 100 mph, per MLB — including the first three he threw.
Nick Mears came on in relief and Scott eventually walked. Mears got out of the frame, but the combined no-hitter bid ended in the seventh inning with Aaron Ashby allowing three hits.

In his first ever MLB start, Misiorowski threw 81 pitches, 41 for strikes. He walked four, and struck out five. Misiorowski was forced to leave the game when his foot landed awkwardly on the front of the mound. The medical staff checked on Misiorowski, and it was determined he should be removed from the game. stated 'The Brewers said Misiorowski left due to cramping in his right calf and quadriceps. Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy indicated Misiorowski may have turned an ankle, but said he was 'all good.' Misiorowski grew up in Grain Valley, Missouri, where he pitched for Grain Valley High School. In his junior year, Misiorowski had a recored of 9-2, with a 1.48 ERA. He was named an All State performer. Misiorowski's senior season was canceled due to COVID-19. Originally slated to play baseball at Oklahoma State University, Misiorowski changed plans, and instead attended Crowder College. In 2022, Misiorowski was a 2nd round selection of the Brewers, out of Crowder (Mo.) Junior College. Misiorowski received a $2.35 million signing bonus from the Brewers, which was the highest bonus given by the Brewers to their 2022 draft class. Misiorowski spent parts of four seasons in the Brewers minor league development program. At the time of his graduation to the parent club, Misorowski had thrown 233.2 innings, with 55 starts in 68 games pitched. At the time he was promoted to the big league club, Misiorowski was pitching at Triple-A Nashville. He had compiled a 4-2 record, with a sparkling 2.3 ERA, and 1.08 WHIP in 13 games. He started twelve of those games. While Misiorowski has spent development time working out of the bullpen, the Brewers are now using him as part of their starting rotation. Baseball America feels Misiorowski has the potential to be the Brewers No. 1 starter. The ace of their club. Misiorowski certainly verified those lofty expectations in his debut. (Photo by) Any hitter has to be intimated by a 6-7 pitcher, who throws his fastball up to 103 miles per hour. That's Misiorowski. In his Brewers debut, indicated Misiorowski was hitting 99 miles with regularity on his four-seam fastball. He threw his slider at 94 miles per hour, his curve at 87 miles per hour, and his changeup at 91 miles per hour. In his debut, stated he used his four-seamer 54.7% of the time. His curve was used 21.23%, his slider 19.86%, and his changeup 4.11% of the time. Misiorowski has a strong arm, and usually throws from a relatively low arm slot. He has an outstanding 7.4 feet of extension. With his height, the ball is on the hitter…right now. There are times Misiorowski's height and long limbs make it difficult for him to repeat his delivery. If he gets out of sync, his command suffers. Consistent command and control could be demons for Misiorowski. He has had issues walking hitters, and that was evident with four walks in his first big league start.' He has a good feel for pitching, and a quality repertoire that will serve him well. It may take time for Misiorowski to iron out some wrinkles in his command and control, but he just turned 23-years-old April 3. Conclusions: Jacob Misiorowski is the real deal. He can throw high velocity heat, and mix in quality secondary pitches from an enormous 6-7 frame. Hitters will be off-balance, and he will continue to change their eye level with a dazzling array of pitches. The Brewers may have found an 'ace' in the second round of the 2022 draft. Another quick note: After his debut start, Misiorowski has changed his uniform number from 33 to 32.

He also missed extensive time in 2023 and 2024 due to various injuries. He also was suspended in 2018 for 50 games without pay for violating the minor league drug prevention and treatment program.
