Tennis starlet Piani plans to absorb everything at Wimbledon
And with the countdown on her time in the junior circuit already begun, Piani plans to live every moment to the fullest.
'Playing at Wimbledon is completely different to every tournament,' said Piani.
'I'm grateful to be able to play. It's my last junior tournament so honestly I was hoping to give it my all and leave it out on the court and I did that.
'I could've played a little bit better but you're not going to play perfect tennis all the time. I'm just going to enjoy every moment and I was super happy that I was given the chance to play.
'I'm just trying to enjoy being on the court.
"... Trying to play those higher level tournaments and feel like I'm comfortable playing at that level." 🙌

'I've got my technical stuff that I can still work on but just being able to give it my all and not let anything get to me that's outside my control.
'It's great when you come here, no matter what point you are in a match, the crowd are always behind you.'
Piani is next in action on Tuesday, where she and Black take on Czech sisters Alena and Jana Kovackova.
'I'm super excited,' added Piani. 'Me and Brooke have played loads of times together and doubles is really fun, even more so with a home crowd. I enjoy playing it and I'm super excited for it.'

Michael O'Sullivan's brother pays emotional tribute to tragic jockey after big win
Alan O'Sullivan remembered the Cheltenham Festival-winning rider after riding the JP McManus-owned Filey Bay to victory in a valuable Flat handicap at the Galway Festival The brother of Michael O'Sullivan paid an emotional tribute to the tragic jockey after riding a big winner at the famous Galway Festival. Cheltenham Festival-winning rider Michael died in February aged 24 from injuries sustained in a five horse pile-up at the final fence of a chase at Thurles in February. He was the subject of numerous tributes at the Cheltenham Festival where his loved ones, including amateur rider brother Alan, were present to see the jockey's first Festival winner Marine Nationale win the Queen Mother Champion Chase in March, then by an uncanny coincidence Jazzy Matty, O'Sullivan's other Cheltenham Festival winner, scored later on the same day. On Thursday Alan was riding the JP McManus-owned Filey Bay, trained by Emmet Mullins, in the Connact Hotel (Q.R.) Handicap. He had to weave a path to get a run on the 7-1 chance and when he did he fairly shot clear, with the winning jockey looking to the skies as he passed the line four and three-quarter lengths ahead of Mon Coeur. 'It's unbelievable, my goal at the start of the year was to be good enough that someone might want me for this. He was looking down on me, I think,' said O'Sullivan. 'When I wanted the gaps, they came for me, I got a dream run. I probably went the brave man's route, but I thought it's what Mikey would have done. I had loads of horse, if I got any gap at all I had the horse to take it.' Winning trainer Mullins said: 'It was meant to be and I'm a bit lost for words. It's just magic. It was Michael's saddle that Alan was using today. Michael rode a few times for me here and I think we hit the crossbar twice, so Alan steadied the ship. 'It's been a long enough road with the horse. We had him last season and I sent him home twice as I just wasn't happy. Thankfully with JP the patience has paid off. 'Alan was keen to ride him, and I was keen to claim off him as well. For 7lb claimers you don't need to look any further than Alan.' Emma Raducanu digs deep to beat Elena-Gabriela Ruse in first round in Montreal
Raducanu arrived at the WTA 1000 event fresh from an impressive semi-final showing at the Citi Open last week, but immediately faced five break points in her first service game. The world number 33 weathered the storm and despite a run of six games in a row midway through the match, Raducanu was largely forced to battle and scrap to ensure she chalked up a sixth win from her last eight matches. Raducanu was swiftly back in action after her last-four run in Washington, but quickly in trouble as Ruse forced five break points in the opening game of the match. In more hot and humid conditions in Canada, British number one Raducanu showed her resilience and leaned on her improved serve to claim a crucial hold before more issues were forthcoming in her next service game. After Raducanu again survived, having been taken to deuce, she sensed her moment and was able to break Ruse to move 3-2 up after the Romanian sent down two double-faults. YES! @EmmaRaducanu breezes through round one at @OBNmontreal ❤️🔥 She beat Elena-Gabriela Ruse 6-2, 6-4 to advance & continue her strong form#BackTheBrits 🇬🇧 — LTA (@the_LTA) July 28, 2025 It sparked a run of six consecutive games for Raducanu as she clinched the opener by a 6-2 score, but an early break at the start of the second set was followed by an immediate response from Ruse. While Raducanu forced more break points on Ruse's serve, it was not until the seventh game of set two when the 2021 US Open champion broke again to move 4-3 ahead. It started a run of three consecutive breaks before Raducanu kept her cool to close out victory at the first time of asking on serve after a demanding one-hour-and-37-minute battle in the country of her birth. Next up for Raducanu is a second-round meeting with 32nd seed Peyton Stearns. Katie Boulter was unable to join her compatriot in the next round after she lost 6-1 7-5 to Renata Zarazua. Boulter only narrowly avoided a first-set bagel and despite an improved level in the second set, she suffered a third successive loss.

Cwmbran Celtic earn 3-1 league win over Caldicot Town
The Crows came into their opening home match of the season full of optimism following a 6-1 win at Abertillery Bluebirds the previous Saturday afternoon. The hosts broke the deadlock after 27 minutes when Aysa Al-Doori's 20-yard free kick thundered back off the crossbar before Jason Henley pounced to force the loose ball past Caldicot Town goalkeeper Matthew Sandiford from close range. Cwmbran Town doubled their advantage four minutes after the interval when Josh Brown fired home from the edge of the penalty area after Caldicot Town were unable to clear the ball following an attack by the Crows. The score was extended further in the 89th minute when substitute Rhys Tandy pounced on a mistake in the visitors' rear guard before sliding the ball past Sandiford. The Jubilee Way club netted a consolation goal in stoppage-time when Cole Greenhaf lobbed Callum Brain in the home goal, but it was too late to make any difference to the final result as the Crows maintained their 100% start to the new campaign. Cwmbran Town built on the result by overcoming South Wales Premier League newcomers Heolgerrig Red Lion 6-0 in the JD Welsh Cup first qualifying round on Saturday afternoon. Caldicot Town bounced back in style from the league reverse to thrash Gwent Premier League hosts Albion Rovers 11-0 to progress in the cup.
