Emma Raducanu is said to be "besotted" with Carlos Alcaraz after her recent telling interview was analysed by a body language expert.
The British tennis star is set to team up with the two-time reigning Wimbledon champion in the US Open Mixed Doubles tournament in August as the pair's partnership have dominated headlines in the sport.
While a romantic relationship between the duo has not been confirmed, rumours of a budding romance continues to fuel speculation. Raducanu, 22, conducted an interview with the BBC earlier this week where she opened up on how their partnership came together before she was asked whether she was aware of the internet insisting that the pair are "destined for each other".
A giddy Raducanu replied: "I'm glad the internet is having fun and we're providing some entertainment for everyone" before she detailed when they began becoming friends. "We go back a long way and I think we both started getting to know each other a lot more in 2021. When I had that little run at Wimbledon, I think he won in five sets in the first round or something.
"And then all through the US Open, he had a big breakout win against Stef [Tsitsipas] in the third round but I was always trying to, like, join him in the next round because he was playing the day before me.
"Ever since, we've stayed in touch and he's done so well since and continued winning. It's been amazing to see because we were speaking and friends before anyone won anything."

Following the interview, body language expert Darren Stanton admitted he believes the friendship between the tennis stars could allude into something more in the future. Speaking to OLBG, he said: "I think Emma Raducanu is besotted with Carlos Alcaraz. In her interview with the BBC, you can see that her face lights up and her pupils dilate.
"You can tell when her emotion shifts from speaking about general tennis to when she gets asked the question about what's being said on the internet having fun on speculation. When she gets asked about the rumours, she shifts emotion because she starts to look down and left.
"Looking up is remembering general things and pictures as you're trying to think whereas when people look down and left, she's accessing something called internal auditory dialogue. She goes from instantaneously answering to considering what she's about to say very carefully. I'm not saying there's a full-blown relationship going on but there's one of two things.
It was the Spaniard that brought the opportunity to compete in mixed doubles to Raducanu

"Either they're very close and there could be something there down the line or it's wishful thinking on her part because there's something that causes that emotional shift and it happens at the same time that she talks about general tennis to then talking about him and their relationship.

"I don't think it's anything yet so it could be a close friendship that could allude to something in the future or she really loves the idea of those two being an item."
With Wimbledon set to commence this weekend, Alcaraz enjoyed the best preparation possible after winning the HSBC Championships on Sunday beating Jiri Lehecka in the final. Raducanu faced differing fortunes as she was bounced out in the second round of the Lexus Eastbourne Open by 19-year-old Maya Joint on Wednesday.

Anthony Joshua in 'semi-retirement' as heavyweight waits for return
The heavyweight star has not fought in nearly a year but is looking to return to the ring at some point in 2025 after having a successful operation on his elbow Boxing legend Amir Khan believes Anthony Joshua is in 'semi-retirement' despite the Brit looking to return to the ring later this year. Joshua has not fought since suffering a brutal knockout defeat to Daniel Dubois last September. The pair looked certain to go head-to-head in an immediate rematch, but 'AJ' was not ready to fight soon after their initial encounter after sustaining some minor injuries in the bout. The 35-year-old recently had surgery on his elbow and is now looking to fight before the end of the year. Joshua seems to be enjoying life at the moment and was recently spotted with Khan in Ghana. The pair appear to be on good terms again after Khan accused the British heavyweight of sleeping with his wife. Following their brief encounter, the 38-year-old has stated that he believes Joshua's career is coming to an end. In an interview with Vegas Insider, he said: "He seems to be in semi-retirement. He's looking at all business opportunities and stuff like that, but he has done all of the hard work, AJ has done great things in the sport and has done it all. "He is an Olympic gold-medallist, a former two-time world champion and I think he's one or two fights away from retiring or maybe one more fight and he'll call it a day but that's just my opinion. We all want to see the Tyson Fury fight, let's hope they can make it happen." With Joshua looking to get back to winning ways, he is still hoping to one day go head-to-head with long-time rival Tyson Fury. The 'Gypsy King' retired earlier this year after suffering his second defeat to Oleksandr Usyk. That said, he has teased a potential return to the ring over the last few weeks. Many fans are still eager to see how the potential all-British heavyweight showdown would play out - with Khan quick to offer his verdict on the topic. "I hope Tyson comes back, he's a friend of mine and Turki Alalshikh always gets a big fight for him as well. The loser of Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois would be a good fight next for Tyson as a tune-up fight," he said. "I have Daniel Dubois losing to Oleksandr Usyk and that would be a great comeback fight for Tyson as it is a fight still at the top (level) and then fight Oleksandr Usyk or Anthony Joshua which is the fight I want to see. "There are a few good options still there for Fury because he is such a big name and has that backing. I think Fury takes the loser of Usyk vs Dubois and then fights Joshua or the king of the heavyweight division. "With Fury and AJ, they have both had time out of the ring and I believe both fighters have a 50/50 chance of winning the fight. At first, I was favouring Tyson Fury but not anymore, I think it is a 50/50 fight. It is a fight where you can't say who is going to win because is it the power or the boxing IQ that wins the fight? It's hard to say."

Lando Norris says ‘not most joyful conversations' followed his Canada crash
Norris was speaking at length for the first time since his world championship setback at the previous round in Montreal, where he crashed into the back of team-mate Piastri's car. Championship leader Piastri was able to finish fourth but Norris retired with damage which leaves him 22 points off the title pace ahead of the 11th round of the season in Austria on Sunday. McLaren team principal Andrea Stella had warned of tough conversations with Norris. Addressing the post-Montreal summit here in Spielberg, the British driver said: 'Of course, they were not the most joyful conversations, but they were conversations that clearly needed to be had because it is not about just me, but it is about how we perform as a team, too, and we all know what the number one rule (not crashing into a team-mate) was, and continues to be. 'So, there were very constructive things that were said, in an unfortunate way but in a good way, too, because many things have come out stronger which you might not have expected.' Norris accepted full responsibility for the coming together he said made him look foolish. He was already on the back foot in Canada following two mistakes in qualifying which left him seventh on the grid. Norris crashed into Piastri in the closing stages (Jacques Boissinot/The Canadian Press via AP) He drove well to bring himself back into contention only to misjudge the move on Piastri which again raises questions over his credentials as a legitimate championship contender. But an upbeat Norris continued: 'I almost forgot about it until earlier today. I feel good and I am excited for this weekend. 'Yes, it took me a little time (to get over) because my team means everything to me. They are the people I have grown up with and the team that has given me my opportunity in Formula One. 'So, what happened in Montreal with my team-mate was probably the most painful part for me because it was the last thing I would ever want to happen and for that action to have come from me. 'I felt very bad for the team. It was a tough couple of days but I have become a lot better at dealing with those moments and speaking to Andrea, my team around me, and (McLaren CEO) Zak (Brown) and trying to move on as quickly as possible was very important. We come here with that in the past and we go again.' Despite the papaya-on-papaya clash, Norris insisted both he and Piastri are free to race. He concluded: 'No, nothing has changed. It actually showed the trust and honesty that Oscar and I have for one another. 'And it is important that we keep that going and we stay strong because we don't want the downfall that we know other teams have had in the past. 'We want to race fair, hard and on the limit but we don't want a repeat of what happened last time out and that takes both of us even though Canada was on me.'
