Take action on forest land encroachment in Chittoor: Dy CM
VIJAYAWADA: Deputy Chief Minister (Forest and Environment) K Pawan Kalyan has directed officials to take stern action based on a Vigilance and Enforcement report on the land encroachments in Chittoor district by the family of former minister Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy.
The report, submitted by the Vigilance and Enforcement Director General (DG), has detailed serious violations, including encroachments on forest lands, government properties, and lands belonging to the Bugga Math. It recommended that not only should criminal cases be filed, but that officials who failed to protect government and forest land should also be held accountable.
Taking serious note of the report, Pawan Kalyan held discussions with senior officials. He instructed them to implement the DG's recommendations without any delay. 'Those responsible for the encroachments should face criminal action under relevant laws, including the Forest and Environment Acts,' he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister said dereliction of duty by government officials would not be tolerated. He directed the departments concerned to identify officials who failed to prevent the encroachments and initiate departmental action against them. 'A report should be submitted listing such officials so that disciplinary measures can be taken,' he added.
Pawan Kalyan reiterated the government's determination to safeguard public and forest lands from illegal occupation, regardless of the political stature of those involved.

Public and official circles are urged to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter. The controversial statements, which targeted the capital region, its residents, particularly women, and the rich historical and Buddhist heritage of the area, cannot be dismissed as mere individual opinion. The channel, far from disassociating itself from the comments or condemning them during the discussion, allowed them to be aired without challenge. This inaction suggests a deliberate attempt to insult and ridicule Amaravati and its people with vile language, according to a statement from Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. The Deputy Chief Minister's statement highlights a concerning lack of historical awareness among those engaging in 'vile propaganda' against Amaravati. The region boasts a profound historical and spiritual significance, with inscriptions from the Maurya and Ikshvaku dynasties, and Kakatiya rulers. Chinese traveler Xuanzang's writings attest to the region's flourishing Buddhist heritage. 'This is the land where Acharya Nagarjuna walked,' the statement read, emphasising that Mahayana Buddhism, along with other traditions, thrived here, making it a sacred place for Buddhists. The Amaravati school of sculpture found patronage in Sri Lanka and Southeast Asian countries where Buddhism spread. 'Have those making such vile comments ever considered the sentiments of people who believe in these faiths?' the statement questioned. The statement further accuses previous rulers and their associates of consistently attempting to tarnish Amaravati's image through malicious remarks, likening the capital to a 'cremation ground' and branding it with casteist labels. Farmers who donated land for the capital were allegedly harassed with false cases and suppressed politically when they protested for the capital to remain. Notably, 32 per cent of the farmers who contributed land belong to SC and ST communities. The previous government is accused of filing SC/ST atrocity cases against these very farmers who were protesting for Amaravati to remain the capital. Additionally, 14 per cent were BC farmers, 20 per cent from the Reddy community, 18 per cent Kamma, 9 per cent Kapu, and 3 per cent Muslim farmers. The recent derogatory comments made on the TV channel are seen as an insult to all women in the capital region, irrespective of their caste or community (SC, ST, BC and others). 'The malicious intent of this group appears to be to cast a negative light on a region being developed as a people's capital,' the Deputy Chief Minister's statement concluded. It vowed that the State government will act decisively against individuals involved in such conspiracies and malicious propaganda, and those behind them. Police are expected to take legal action against those who made the vile remarks.

'We Honour Daughters': Chandrababu Naidu Slams Offensive Remarks Against Amaravati Women
Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his deputy Pawan Kalyan on Sunday condemned derogatory remarks allegedly made by a couple of journalists against women of Amaravati. Mr Naidu referred to alleged offensive statements made by a journalist in a vernacular news channel who allegedly made highly disparaging comments against the women of greenfield capital city Amaravati. The women in Amaravati on Sunday took out a protest march condemning the remarks made by journalists. "Ours is a culture that honours daughters. We revere women as divine, especially among Telugu people who hold mothers and daughters in highest esteem," Mr Naidu said in a post on 'X'. The Chief Minister said that people had already rejected this toxic mindset through the democratic mandate, yet derogatory narratives still persist against women in the capital region of Amaravati. Mr Naidu termed the silence of opposition leader and YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy over the alleged remarks as "deeply troubling". The Chief Minister further said that the offensive remarks are not just political attacks. They are assaults on every woman's dignity and pride, he said, demanding accountability and apology. He assured that strict action would follow, emphasising the NDA government's commitment to uphold women's respect. We will not let such culture prevail, he said. Similarly, Pawan Kalyan said Amaravati, a land enriched with the legacy of Gautama Buddha, stands as a historic symbol of peace where Buddhism once thrived and spiritual traditions flourished. "This (Amaravati) is a land sanctified by Gautama Buddha and Acharya Nagarjuna. Such remarks demean the legacy of Amaravati and insult the dignity of its women," said Kalyan in a post on 'X'.

Stern action will be taken against those behind malicious campaign against capital Amaravati, says A.P. Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party (JSP) president K. Pawan Kalyan said on Sunday that the government would take stringent action as per law against those who unleashed a malicious campaign against the capital city of Amaravati and women who parted with their lands for its development. In a release, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said the derogatory comments made by journalist V.V.R. Krishnam Raju on Sakshi TV channel, and its news anchor and senior journalist Kommineni Srinivasa Rao were politically motivated and a part of a well -organised conspiracy. He suggested to the people to understand the intentions of the former Chief Minister, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, and his media outlets. The 'outrageous statements' on the capital should not be considered as the opinion of a single individual, he said. The TV channel could not escape responsibility by claiming that the said comments were the personal views of Mr. Krishnam Raju, and pretending to respect women. 'These attempts to demean the capital region, which has a rich heritage, are reprehensible,' Mr. Pawan Kalyan said. He pointed out that the capital region had historical and spiritual significance, which was evident from the multiple inscriptions that date back to the Mauryan and Ikshvaku dynasties. Chinese traveller Hiuen Tsang had described this land as one where Buddhism flourished, and Acharya Nagarjuna tread the place, he added. 'How can anyone who has knowledge of these and other relevant facts make despicable comments on it?' Mr. Pawan Kalyan sought to know. He noted that 32% of those who had given their lands for Amaravati belonged to the SC/ST communities, 14% to the Backward Classes, 20% to the Reddy community, 18% to the Kamma community, 9% to the Kapu community, and 3% to the Muslim community.
