Kuwait Announces 5-Day Holiday
Kuwait has announced a five-day public holiday to be marked at the end of this month.
The holiday was announced by the Cabinet as part of its weekly meeting.
The decision declares Tuesday, February 25 to Thursday, February 27 as holidays marking National and Liberation Days 2025.
With Friday and Saturday being a typical weekend in the country, the regular working schedule will resume on Sunday, March 2.
A statement on the state-run KUNA news agency website said: 'The public holiday is for government bodies, authorities, and institutions, but entities with singular working hours are to decide their own schedules.'

Unauthorised tampering with student exam papers or grades could result in up to seven years of imprisonment and fines of 5,000 to 10,000 dinars. The government said the amendments are aimed at preserving the credibility of Kuwait's academic institutions and ensuring fair competition among students. The changes come amid rising reports of exam-related misconduct, particularly during national testing periods. The Cabinet also reaffirmed its commitment to national development, vowing to accelerate key infrastructure projects and remove regulatory hurdles that threaten to delay implementation. Bahrain and Qatar revive plans for landmark 40-kilometre causeway and sea link
Bahrain and Qatar are pushing ahead with plans to build a long-awaited land bridge and a maritime route linking the two Gulf neighbours, after transport ministers met in Manama to go over details and agree on next steps. The 40-kilometre causeway between Bahrain and Qatar, along with a proposed sea route, featured prominently in talks between Bahrain's Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, His Excellency Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and Qatari Transport Minister, H.E. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Thani, who arrived with a delegation on an official visit. Discussions took place at the ministry's headquarters and centred on road, rail, port and air links. The two sides also exchanged technical knowledge on transport projects and agreed to form working groups to see them through. It also recognized the achievements of top-performing students for the 2024–2025 academic year and commended the Ministry of Education's modern teaching practices.
