'Housefull 5' actress Chitrangda Singh has said this in many of her interviews how she was supposed to be a part of films like Tanu Weds Manu and Gangster. But there is one more film she was doing and that is the 2003 film Chalte Chalte with Shah Rukh Khan. So why did this not happen?
Singh revealed, 'Aishwarya was already a part of it and they started shooting. Some mix up happened and they were stuck in the middle and looking for someone. Aziz Mirza had seen my work and was Sudhir Mishra's close friend and wanted to work with me. They reached out to me, that's what Shah Rukh told me.'
STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD
She added, 'This was the time when I gave up work and changed my phone number. So it didn't happen.'
On Housefull 5 success
The actress revealed, 'Nobody knows what the audiences want to watch, what they are going to enjoy. Do they want to watch a thriller or a love story? What is it? Everyone was keeping their fingers crossed all the time. We were messaging each other also 'Fingers crossed.' I am glad that people are happy to see a comedy.'
She even spoke about the idea of two climaxes in the film, she plays the killer in version B. 'At that time we were not told right till the October of last year. Even when we were shooting for different climaxes, the cast was unaware too. Akshay knew and whoever was in the scene knew. Sajid was very clear he wants to keep this a secret.'
On playing a villain in Housefull 5
I think the villain is the most interesting character. The evil is always more exciting. Maya is a very interesting character and there is a reason why she turns evil. I got to do a little bit of action and we mixed with thriller and comedy, it was lovely. I loved playing her.

Sunday Trivia - Karisma Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan's only film together still stirs nostalgia
Back in 2002, Bollywood witnessed a unique onscreen pairing that blended two very different film legacies. They were none other than Karisma Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan , in the romantic drama 'Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya'. Though the film didn't become a box office sensation, it holds a special place in Bollywood's memory lane, as it remains the only film the duo starred in together. A Love Triangle on Screen Directed by Dharmesh Darshan, Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya brought together Karisma and Abhishek alongside Akshay Kumar in a classic love triangle. The film tells the story of Pooja (Karisma), who sacrifices her rising career for a marriage with Shiv (Abhishek). Issues happen in their relationship as misunderstandings and suspicion take center stage. Believing Shiv is unfaithful, Pooja leaves and eventually finds solace in Raj (Akshay), a kind-hearted man who falls deeply in love with her. Shiv returns just when Pooja starts rebuilding her life. This forces her to choose between the past and the present. At last she chooses to reunite with her husband. A Glimpse of Real-Life Romance What made the film even more intriguing at the time was the real-life engagement between Karisma and Abhishek. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 임플란트 최대 할인 지원해드려요 임플란터 더 알아보기 Undo The couple was briefly engaged. The announcement made headlines across the country. Sadly the relationship ended abruptly due to reported family disagreements. Karisma went on to marry Sunjay Kapur in 2003, while Abhishek later tied the knot with Aishwarya Rai in 2007. One-Time Pairing That Lives On in Memory Though they never worked together again, 'Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya' remains a rare cinematic collaboration between two members of Bollywood royalty. Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan's recent outing 'Housefull 5' is doing well at the box office, with decent reviews from the audiences. Chitrangda Singh missed out on Shah Rukh Khan's Chalte Chalte, refused Tanu Weds Manu, Gangster: ‘I have made those mistakes'
Actress Chitrangda Singh, who was recently seen in Housefull 5, sat down for a conversation with SCREEN, where she reflected on her 20 years in Bollywood. Chitrangda spoke about her nine-year-long sabbatical, the challenges she faced on the personal front, and also confessed to rejecting some big films. Talking about her debut film Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and the 20 years in the industry, Chitrangda said, 'It's been very quick 20 years. When I look back, I feel like I have gotten far more than I expected. I don't think I was a very ambitious person. I didn't think I was going to go places. I was quite happy that I would get married and just have a good time; I never had a vision for myself. I feel that everything has been more than I expected. In 20 years, there have been 9 years of breaks in between. 11 years of working and people have not forgotten me, so I feel grateful.' Also Read: Chitrangda Singh: 'We cannot carry on living in our own bubbles' When asked if films like Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi can be made today, the actor said, 'I wish films like Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi get made because cinema should not just be for entertainment alone. There are films to entertain, and then there should be films about certain matters which need to go on record as cinema history. I wish we did more films like that.' During the interview, Chitrangda Singh also talked about her sabbatical. The actress shared, 'The first seven years of break were because of my personal life, my commitment to that, and I had a son. I came back, and then I took another two-year break because I was going through a rough patch in my personal life again. In between that also I did not have the kind of work that I was looking for coming my way, so I decided to not be around because I was also going through my emotional ups and downs and I didn't want to do stuff that I won't be happy doing. So there was a rollercoaster of life going on. So yes, I did not do as much work as I probably would have wanted to do.' During this phase, Chitrangda also lost out on some good films, and she does feel bad about it. 'I have made those mistakes. I said no to Anurag Basu's Gangster. I refused Tanu Weds Manu. In Mangal Pandey, I said no to the role that Ameesha Patel played. There was one more that I am forgetting, and then there was Chalte Chalte that starred Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji, which I wasn't around for at all. They had run into some trouble and wanted to desperately cast someone. SRK had told me this. Saeed Mirza had loved my work, and they were looking for me. Juhi Chawla's brother Bobby was looking for my number. I had worked with SRK on an ad film when he had told me all this.' On the work front, Chitrangda Singh has another commercial potboiler in her kitty. She will also be announcing a project in September. ‘Housefull 5' box office collections day 16: Akshay Kumar's comedy flick inches towards Rs 175 cr mark
Akshay Kumar-starrer 'Housefull 5' continues to bring in steady numbers at the box office, even in its third week. According to early estimates from Sacnilk, the film earned approximately ₹2.25 crore (India net) on Day 16 (June 21), bringing its total earnings to ₹172.35 crore across all languages. Strong Start, Decent Hold The film began with a ₹24 crore opening on its first Friday and soared over the weekend, collecting ₹87.5 crore in the first three days alone. Although it witnessed a predictable dip on weekdays, Housefull 5 closed its first week with a solid ₹127.25 crore. The second week saw a natural decline with collections amounting to ₹40.85 crore, yet the film held well on weekends, earning ₹9.5 crore on its second Saturday and ₹11.5 crore on its second Sunday. Steady Pace in Week 3 On third Friday (Day 15), it minted Rs 2 crore, followed by a slight uptick on Saturday (Day 16) with ₹2.25 crore, thanks to weekend footfalls. The film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 19.78% on Saturday, with morning shows at 7.96%, afternoon at 20.15%, and evening at 23.78%, indicating continued interest among family audiences. Star-Studded Ensemble and Audience Pull Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, Housefull 5 includes the actors Akshay Kumar , Riteish Deshmukh , Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan , Shreyas Talpade , Nana Patekar, and Jackie Shroff. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trading CFD dengan Teknologi dan Kecepatan Lebih Baik IC Markets Mendaftar Undo The film also features Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Sonam Bajwa, and Chitrangada Singh, among others. ETimes review for the film reads, "Barring Riteish who manages to entertain, both Abhishek Bachchan and Akshay Kumar get little to play with as far as words are concerned. The women have nothing much to do except for upping the glam quotient and being the butt of several adult jokes. Sonam Bajwa, Fardeen Khan and Dino Morea act sensibly. Shreyas Talpade, Johnny Lever and Chunky Panday are criminally wasted. Talpade just disappears for a major part of the film, but we can't expect logic here. Can we?." With minimal competition at the box office currently, 'Housefull 5' may continue to draw in collections, particularly over the upcoming Sunday.
