Malcolm Pather Murder: Five now charged as case unfolds in Atlantis Court
Three more people have been charged in connection with the murder of Malcom Pather.
The 41-year-old Richmond resident disappeared on July 13, after he was last seen leaving his home in his blue BMW.
Stacey Lee Hector and her boyfriend, Wade van Reneen, both 39, have been charged with Pather's murder.
In addition to murder, they face charges of kidnapping and defeating the ends of justice.
On Tuesday morning in the Atlantis Magistrate's Court, three more people were added to the charge sheet.
The accused are Igshaan Abrahams, Kyle Francis, and Courtney Nortj.
The five are believed to be friends.
Pather's body was found a day after his disappearance on July 14, 2025, in the back of a bakkie.
It is alleged that the vehicle his body was found was allegedly stolen in the Goodwood area between July 12, 2025, and July 13, 2025.

Six suspects allegedly involved in a series of robberies in Ntoane and Moteti villages under the Dennilton policing area were nabbed last Thursday, and an unlicensed firearm as well as stolen properties were seized. According to the Limpopo Provincial Police, the recent robberies were committed on August 14. Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, provincial police spokesperson, said suspects driving in a Toyota GD6 Club Cab allegedly robbed a shop of cash and cellphones in Ntoane Village. The crime prevention members, detectives and Sekhukhune District Tracking and Investigations Team netted the suspects. 'The described vehicle was spotted in Dennilton, and a chase ensued. Police intercepted the vehicle, and three male suspects were arrested. They were found in possession of a pellet gun. Police received another report of a robbery in Moteti Village. They spotted a suspicious white BMW driving at high speed, managed to stop and search it, and three other suspects were arrested. They were found in possession of an unlicensed firearm,' explained Ledwaba. Ledwaba stated that the six suspects were linked to three business robberies that occurred in June and July. He further indicated that they were also linked to a recent business robbery and house robbery that took place on August 14. 'One suspect was charged with contravention of the Immigration Act,' added Ledwaba. The suspects are expected to appear before the Dennilton Magistrate's Court today (Monday).

Police catches alleged armed robber after high speed chase
Police have arrested a Mozambican national following a farm robbery last week near the Kusile Power Station. The arrest came after a high-speed chase that led to the recovery of stolen vehicles and other property.
