Moving beyond literacy, Tripura has also invested in futuristic education, by allocating ₹264 crore creating 30 AI classrooms across the state. These smart classrooms aim to close the gap between rural and urban education while aligning with the policies of NEP 2020.
When it comes to inclusive learning, government schools in Tripura have adopted U-shaped classroom seating arrangements, replacing the old traditional layout of classroom learning . This model aims for better interaction between teachers and students, collaborative learning , eye contact interaction, open discussion and active participation.
The state has also implemented a Saharsh curriculum for students from classes I-VIII under NEP. Developed jointly by NCERT and SCERT, the curriculum emphasises social-emotional learning, aiming for a stress free and joyful learning environment. It focuses to reduce students from the burden of studies, learning apart from only textbooks and syllabus.l and focusing more on holistic and inclusive learning , thereby preparing the students not just for exams but to deal with the real world problems.

NCERT Introduces Chapters On Stories Of War Heroes, Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, Brigadier Mohammad Usman
The Defence Ministry on Thursday announced that chapters on the life and sacrifices of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, Brigadier Mohammad Usman and Major Somnath Sharma have been included in the NCERT syllabus for the current academic year. These chapters have been added in Class VIII (Urdu), Class VII (Urdu) and Class VIII (English) respectively. These newly introduced chapters aim to inspire students with real-life examples of bravery, patriotism and service to the nation. Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, the first Indian officer to be conferred the rank of Field Marshal, is remembered for his remarkable leadership and strategic genius. Brigadier Mohammad Usman and Major Somnath Sharma, both recipients of the Mahavir Chakra and Param Vir Chakra, respectively (posthumously), laid down their lives in service of the nation and remain symbols of supreme sacrifice. As part of efforts to establish National War Memorial (NWM) as a prominent national landmark, Ministry of Defence has partnered with Ministry of Education and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) to integrate NWM and related references into the school curriculum, press release said. Defence Ministry said that through these stories and their inclusion in the curriculum, students will not only gain insights into India's military history but also absorb important life lessons on resilience, empathy, emotional intelligence, and the importance of contributing to nation-building. Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the National War Memorial to the nation on 25 February 2019, located in the iconic Central Vista 'C' Hexagon, India Gate, New Delhi. The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has formed a committee to review feedback received on the newly released Class 8 social science textbook, particularly over a map showing parts of Rajasthan under the Maratha Empire. The issue came into the spotlight after Chaitanya Raj Singh of the erstwhile Jaisalmer royal family raised objections on social media, calling the depiction 'historically misleading' and unsupported by credible naming the specific case, NCERT issued a statement on Thursday saying it has a long-standing practice of forming expert committees when significant feedback is received on panel, comprising domain experts and academic faculty, will examine the matter using available historical evidence and submit a report 'at the earliest.' The Class 8 textbooks were released last month under the framework of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE) 2023. This rollout is part of a phased launch of new textbooks for Classes 1 to Danino, chairperson of NCERT's curricular group for social science, responded to the issue in a detailed note on Wednesday. He stated that further research is ongoing to verify the accuracy of the errors are confirmed, the map will be revised and updated in future editions. NCERT sets up panel to examine feedback received about content in new textbooks
The NCERT has set up an expert committee to examine the feedback received about its textbooks aligned with the new National Education Policy (NEP), officials said on officials, however, did not clarify which textbook in particular will the panel examine."As a follow-up to NEP 2020, NCERT has brought out the National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education. Aligned with the curricular goals and competencies as given in the NCFs, NCERT has brought out teaching-learning material, including textbooks. These curricular resources, including textbooks, receive regular feedback and suggestions from various stakeholders," a senior NCERT official said. "At present, NCERT has received feedback about the educational content in a few textbooks. Hence a Committee is being constituted having senior experts, as per its established practice. This committee will examine the feedback in light of the available evidences and submit its report at the earliest possible," the official added. The NCERT clarified that it is a well-established practice at NCERT that whenever substantial feedback or suggestions are received regarding the content or pedagogy of a textbook in a particular subject, a committee is constituted. "This committee comprises high-level domain experts from reputed institutions and faculty members from the relevant subject area, with the convenorship of the head of the curriculum department. The committee carefully deliberates on the matter, makes evidence-based decisions regarding the content or pedagogy, and recommends appropriate actions accordingly at the earliest," the official new Class 8 textbook "Exploring Society: India and Beyond was in spotlight recently.
