Two Malaysians die in separate incidents in Thailand's Yala province: One collapses at bike event, one in road crash
According to a consular statement, the first case involved a 56-year-old Malaysian male from Kedah who died in Betong, while the second case involved a 47-year-old male from Penang who died in an accident in Yaha district.
Chief Investigation Officer of Betong Police, Inspector Pornchai Shunual, informed that the 56-year-old victim entered Betong with his wife on Aug 1 to take part in a programme called 'OK BETONG Bike Week'.
'According to his wife, the victim collapsed in a toilet during a rest break and was unconscious before being rushed to Betong Hospital, but was pronounced dead about half an hour later,' he told reporters here, today.
A post-mortem by the hospital has confirmed that the victim had died suddenly and no foul play was detected.
The Thai Royal Police allowed the deceased's next-of-kin to claim his body to be returned to Kulim with help from the Malaysian Consulate General in Songkhla.
Meanwhile, in the second case, the Malaysian Consulate General reported that the Malaysian man died when a superbike he was riding was believed to have collided with a four-wheel drive vehicle belonging to a local in Yala district, yesterday evening.
The victim reportedly sustained serious injuries in the head.
His remains have been brought from Yaha Hospital to Sadao Hospital, Songkhla, for temporary storage before claiming by his next-of-kin to be returned to Penang. — Bernama

KEPALA BATAS: The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has called for the cancellation of a rally scheduled in Bertam, Kepala Batas, Penang, to prevent potential clashes between opposing groups. Foreign woman with two knives arrested after hitting three motorcycles, hurting six bystanders in Kajang
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14 — Police have arrested a foreign woman suspected of reckless driving after she allegedly hit three motorcycles and assaulted members of the public at a traffic light junction near a shopping mall in Kajang yesterday. Kajang district police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof said the report of the incident was received at 11.58 am and initial investigations revealed that the 24-year-old woman had been driving dangerously before exiting her vehicle and attacking bystanders with a knife. 'The woman, who was in possession of two knives, was arrested with the help of members of the public and handed over to police for further action,' he said in a statement here, adding that the motive of the incident was still under investigation. Following the incident, Naazron said six individuals aged between 21 and 60 sustained injuries, with two admitted for further examination while the remaining four received outpatient treatment. He added that three motorcycles were damaged after being hit by the woman's vehicle. Naazron said a remand application under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code would be filed against the woman today. The case is being investigated under Section 307 and Section 279 of the Penal Code, as well as Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Those with information on the incident are urged to contact the nearest police station or investigating officer Insp. Nursyaza Farhah Samhairi at 017-6919817 to assist with the investigation. Earlier, a video of the incident showing the woman exiting her vehicle with a knife after an accident went viral on social media. That said, one can only imagine the fear of receiving a death threat from someone allegedly known for violence and with multiple criminal records. Yesterday (Wednesday, 13th August), Japanese content creator Kaz, or Kaz_Fula, who is based in Malaysia, posted a video on his social media platforms revealing that he and his family had received death threats from the owner of a local ramen restaurant. Here's what happened: In the video, he shared a screenshot of an Instagram post by the owner of Menya Shishido, in which the latter allegedly stated his intention to murder the influencer, his wife and their children. In addition, one of the posts reportedly contained a warning that he would go on a killing spree and set buildings on fire. Kazu also provided a news article detailing the restaurant owner's past arrest and charges for domestic violence and child abuse. 'I'm really scared and shocked. How can this man, who has been charged with violence and child abuse, still run a business freely while so many Japanese and Malaysian people remain terrified by what he has done?,' the content creator wrote in his captions. Kaz suspects that the owner, identified as Kamizato Shozo, is seeking revenge on those he believes were responsible for the decline of his ramen business. After a quick check on the accused's personal social media, it appears that there are pinned announcements stating that his restaurants would no longer be accepting Japanese customers, except for trusted friends, and even they would be subject to a verification process.
