
Winnipeg man drowns in Caddy Lake: RCMP
According to RCMP, the incident took place around 1:20 p.m. when two males got into the water, but only one resurfaced. The Whiteshell fire department found the missing 23-year-old man underwater. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mounties continue to investigate.

Multiple thefts from vehicles in Waterloo leads to 85 total charges
Two men are facing dozens of charges following multiple vehicle thefts in Waterloo. Waterloo Regional Police said after an investigation in Waterloo's Northdale neighbourhood in regards to the thefts, two men were charged related to six different incidents that happened by Aug. 15. A 30-year-old man and a 34-year-old man had been charged with a total of 85 charges, including theft under $5,000 from a motor vehicle, mischief under $5,000, possession of stolen property, use of credit card and failing to comply with probation. One of the men is in custody for similar charges, while the second is still at large as police continue to look for him.

Cantley, Que woman facing impaired driving charges after late-night poutine trip
A Cantley, Que. driver craving a late-night snack is facing charges for getting behind the wheel impaired. In a news release in French, MRC Des Collines-de-l'Outaouais police say they stopped a 42-year-old woman on Friday at 12:40 a.m. A breathalyzer test revealed she was allegedly driving three times the legal limit. 'She told police she was returning from Gatineau where she had gone to eat poutine,' police said. Police say she 'attempted to flee police' and 'was uncooperative' following her arrest. Her driver's licence was suspended and vehicle was impounded for 90-days. She appeared in court on Friday. 'A craving that will cost her dearly,' police said.

Two e-bike riders seriously hurt following Kitchener crash
Two people are in hospital after a crash in Kitchener on Friday. Waterloo Regional Police and first responders were called to the scene on Manitou Drive, between Wabanaki Drive and Sasada Drive, around 9:30 p.m. Police said a 22-year-old man from Kitchener had been riding an e-bike in the eastbound bike lane, going the opposite direction, when a 50-year-old Kitchener man on an e-bike going the 'proper' direction approached at the same time, leading to them being hit. Both riders were sent to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The area was closed for investigation but had since reopened. Police have asked anyone with information or video of the incident to call 519-570-9777 ext. 8856.
