to play for Brisbane against St George Illawarra after he was cleared of a high tackle in his rugby league return for Souths Logan.
The 22-year-old playmaker was put on report for a tackle on Western Clydesdales prop Lachlan Mears-Crabbe in the Magpies' 66-10 win at Davies Park on Sunday.
Queensland Rugby League's statewide competitions match review committee has reviewed the incident and Mam has not been charged.
Mam was superb in the Queensland Cup on his rugby league return from a nine-week suspension, with a try and three try assists before being rested after 47 minutes.
The Broncos have lost four of their past five games and are in a form slump ahead of Sunday's clash with the Dragons at Suncorp Stadium.
Regular five-eighth Ben Hunt tore a hamstring in the 22-14 loss to South Sydney on Friday night and will miss four to six weeks.
His absence opens the door for Broncos coach Michael Maguire to slot Mam in at No.6 on his preferred left side of the field, where he also played for Souths Logan.
Maguire was a spectator on Sunday at Davies Park, where he watched Mam work his way into the match and shine.
The Magpies are an affiliate club of the Broncos and it was no coincidence Mam left the field seven minutes after halftime, just after he had set up tries and made a surging run.
Maguire would have seen enough to know that his star playmaker had his timing back and there was no need to risk him any longer.
Former Broncos captain and current Souths Logan assistant coach Justin Hodges said after the match that Mam was ready to return to the Broncos line-up.
"He was outstanding," Hodges said.
"He is too good to be playing here, but obviously it is a privilege to have him. He is a first-grade player. I'm pretty sure he will be back up there next week."
Hodges was always confident Mam would be cleared of any high contact.
"It was a good shot. We don't see enough of that," Hodges said post-match.
"He didn't hit him high. He will be fine."

Jett Stanley out to make late grandad proud with Stradbroke Handicap victory
Jett Stanley reckons his late grandfather Jimmy will be smiling up in heaven if the Victorian jockey can win the Stradbroke Handicap. Stanley, 21, will fly up to Brisbane on Monday night in the hope that The Instructor can make the field for the $3m Stradbroke (1400m) at Eagle Farm on Saturday. The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott -trained gelding is currently No.29 in the ballot but has a slim chance of making the field given the attrition rate, with star horses such as Joliestar and Giga Kick to skip Queensland's most prestigious race. Stanley has only ridden in one Group 1 race, last year's The Metropolitan (2400m) at Randwick in October when he finished 14th on Immediacy, more than 10 lengths behind the winner Land Legend. 'It's what every jockey dreams about,' he said on Monday about potentially winning his first major. 'I've always wanted to win a Group 1, ever since I was a five-year-old kid and to be able to do it in the Stradbroke would be an unreal feeling. 'My late grandfather Jimmy always wanted me to win a Group 1 but he felt it had to be the Stradbroke. 'I don't know why, he never really told us, but to possibly have the opportunity is a great thrill in itself, especially for great trainers like Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott. 'Jimmy was a jockey around the Gundagai area and won metro races in Sydney. 'He'd be up there in heaven cheering me on and everyone in my family will be watching, we're a massive racing family.' Stanley's father Brent saluted in the 1996 Caulfield Cup as a teen jockey on Arctic Scent and won the race as a trainer, while Jett's mother Paris's dad Terry Millard was also a trainer. The young hoop, who started his career in Perth under trainers Grant and Alana Williams, remembers getting paid 50 cents for cleaning out a stable during school holidays at age eight. Stanley ended his apprenticeship in April when he rode The Instructor to victory in the Listed Hareeba Stakes (1200m) at Mornington. He was aboard the gelding for his third placing in the Wagga Town Plate early last month before Adam Hyeronimus steered the galloper to victory in his last start, the Listed Luskin Star Stakes at Scone on May 17. 'Quietly, I do give him a sneaky chance,' Stanley said if The Instructor happens to land a run in the Stradbroke. 'He tries his heart out for me, no matter what race he's in and I can't be happier with all the reports that I'm getting from Queensland.' Bott has his fingers crossed that his rising star The Instructor can sneak into the Stradbroke field, adamant the four-year-old is in 'career-best form'. 'He'll get a nice light weight (52kg) and he's in the right time of his career to take advantage of it,' Bott said. 'He's deep into the prep and he's holding up with career-best form. 'Coming up to a high-pressure handicap where he's got a light weight, I think that would suit really well. 'That trip (1400m) is probably right in his sweet spot where he can be most effective.'

Maroons coach defends Mam selection
Maroons coach Billy Slater has defended his decision to choose controversial Brisbane Broncos five-eighth Ezra Mam in an extended 20-man Queensland squad for Wednesday week's State of Origin clash in Perth. On a day when Slater also confirmed the axing of 36-year-old Maroons skipper Daly Cherry-Evans, his selection of Mam – who isn't expected to make Queensland's match-day 17 but could be the 18th man – raised eyebrows, with the Broncos star having only recently returned from a nine-match NRL suspension after being banned for a drug-driving scandal that resulted in him being sent to rehab and fined $120,000. 'We feel that the squad will benefit from him being here. He's been a part of this squad before and I'm sure he'll take his opportunity if presented. 'I'm sure people will have their speculation around all the people selected.' As well as those players who missed out, including veteran Manly halfback Cherry-Evans, whose spot has gone to North Queensland Cowboys half Tom Dearden for a game the Maroons must win to keep the Origin series alive. 'It's just a case of the best person for the position,' Slater said. 'When you're in this position to make decisions, you have to think what's best for the footy team. We just feel Tom is the right person for the No.7 jersey right now. 'Obviously Daly wanted to play and he was disappointed that he wasn't going to get the opportunity but he took the news with great character and great respect. 'We had a good conversation. We've got a great relationship. 'You won't hear a negative word from me about Daly Cherry-Evans. What he's given this jersey and what he's done for this footy team in this group, that will be with all Queenslanders and with Daly for the rest of his life. 'No-one can take that away from him.' Dearden's previous spot on the bench is set to go to Canterbury's Kurt Mann, while Warriors star Kurt Capewell is set to be included in the 17 at the expense of axed Gold Coast Titans forward Beau Fermor. Slater said the Maroons' new captain would be announced on Tuesday when the final 17 was confirmed.
