Seventh edition of 'My Career - My Future' programme kicks off with participation of over 250 students
During the opening ceremony at the Education City Student Center Forum building, high school students and representatives of participating entities were briefed on the program's agenda and activities and listened to a detailed explanation from the entities' representatives, preparing them for the experience of experiencing the work environment.
In his opening remarks, Saad Abdullah Al Kharji, Executive Director of the Qatar Career Development Center, emphasized that the program has continued to achieve success since its launch seven years ago. He said, "Seven years have passed, and this program continues to flourish year after year, just as the aspirations of our youth flourish, and our hopes for them and with them grow."
He added: "We meet today to open a window to the future through which our youth can see their professional ambitions in action. Just one week is enough to open eyes to the reality of work and instill confidence in people. We have seen its impact in previous editions in the eyes of students returning from training with more mature personalities and clearer ambitions."
The Executive Director of the Qatar Career Development Center concluded his remarks by saying, "At the Center, we believe that true investment is investment in people. We strive to empower our youth to choose their own paths, after providing them with the tools and experiences that will help them make informed decisions."
The programme aims to provide secondary school students in grades 10, 11, and 12 with the opportunity to experience real-life work environments and interact directly with experienced professionals. This will enhance their awareness of the nature of various professions and help them make informed academic and professional decisions that align with their ambitions and abilities.
Over the coming days, students will undergo field experiences in a number of vital sectors in the country, including medicine, aviation, energy, media, communications, finance, business administration, judiciary, tourism, sports management, technology, engineering, communications, humanitarian and social work, and other disciplines related to the country's sustainable development paths.
