CAIRO, May 28 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelattty headed to Morocco on Wednesday morning on a bilateral visit aimed at strengthening relations between the two sisterly countries.
The visit is expected to include meetings between the minister of foreign affairs and senior Moroccan officials to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the various fields, exchange views on regional challenges and promote support for regional security and stability. (MENA)

CAIRO, May 31 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptians Affairs Badr Abdelatty said Egypt will continue its mediation efforts, in cooperation with the United States and Qatar, to reach a ceasefire deal, ensure the safe and sustained delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and promote a political horizon for the two-state solution. Abdelatty made the remarks during a meeting on Saturday with former United Nations secretary general Ban Ki-moon. The top Egyptian diplomat praised Ban Ki-moon's efforts during his tenure leading the UN, as well as his current contributions to enriching international discussions and promoting peace, justice, and environmental protection through his membership in "The Elders" organization, according to Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tamim Khallaf. Abdelatty highlighted Egypt's strenuous efforts to uphold and strengthen the multilateral international system and its institutions in addressing the global challenges, the spokesman said. He underscored the importance of cooperation to enhance stability and development at the regional and international levels, amid the unprecedented geopolitical and economic developments worldwide, the spokesman added. Abdelatty affirmed Egypt's compliance with the principles of the United Nations Charter, adding that the Egyptian foreign policy is based on these principals. Egypt highly appreciates the pivotal role of the UN in maintaining international peace and security and promoting sustainable development, the foreign minister said. He highlighted Egypt's stance regarding the developments in Gaza, as well as its intensive efforts to secure a ceasefire. OPEN// FM discusses with his Dutch counterpart over phone boosting bilateral ties
CAIRO, May 31 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty discussed with Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp ways to strengthen bilateral relations and the exchange of views on the latest developments in the Gaza Strip. This came during a phone call Abdelatty had received from his Dutch counterpart Saturday. Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Abdelatty praised the distinguished relations between the two countries in various fields, emphasizing Egypt's aspiration to enhance the economic partnership, attract more Dutch investments to Egypt and increase trade exchange between the two nations. Khallaf added that the foreign minister highlighted the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation with the Netherlands in multiple sectors, including logistics, development of ports, renewable energy, healthcare, digitization, infrastructure, financial services, Artificial intelligence, education, and scientific research. He also stressed the importance of cooperation in the migration field, encompassing both the fight against illegal migration and the facilitation of regular migration. The spokesperson noted that the call also tackled navigation security in the Red Sea. Abdelatty reviewed the recent agreement in Yemen with the United States on maritime navigation security and international trade flow through the Red Sea and the Suez Canal. He pointed out that the Dutch minister affirmed the Netherlands' readiness to encourage Dutch companies to resume navigation in the Red Sea and the Suez Canal, contributing to restoring normal traffic levels. The two ministers also exchanged views on the latest developments in the Middle East region, particularly the catastrophic situation in Gaza. CAIRO, May 31 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty had a busy agenda throughout the past week, including several meetings and visits, within the framework of Egypt's harmonized diplomatic efforts to safeguard national interests and security. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday published an infographic highlighting Abdelatty's activities during the past week, which began with a meeting with the board chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce, in addition to the ministry's celebrations of "Africa Day". During his visit to Madrid, Abdelatty conferred with the Norwegian foreign minister and participated in the expanded ministerial meeting of the Madrid Group regarding the Palestinian cause. The foreign minister, on the fringe of the meeting, held meetings with the deputy prime minister and minister of foreign and European affairs of Slovenia, the Brazilian foreign minister, and the British minister for the Middle East and North Africa. Abdelatty took part in the Egyptian-American Economic Forum in Cairo and met with members of the European Parliament Delegation for relations with the Mashreq countries. During his visit to Nouakchott, the Egyptian top diplomat met with his Mauritanian counterpart and handed over a letter from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to the Mauritanian president.
