The super slim Galaxy Z Fold 7 is no fragile phone
You've likely heard of the YouTuber JerryRigEverything and his world-famous 'bend test', where he puts a phone through its paces. Well, he just got his hands on an unlucky Fold 7 , and the phone passed with flying colors. I expected the Fold to not crack when folded, as it's pretty much a regular phone in that form. However, even when unfolded and only 4.2 mm thick, the phone withstood the immense pressure like a champ.
Forget the frame, even the main display did not show any signs of damage, apart from the roughing up done to it prior. Zack — JerryRigEverything's real name — never goes easy on a phone, and you could see that here. If that Fold 7 could scream, it would need a new pair of lungs by now.

This has definitely come as a surprise to me, I did not expect the phone to not snap when unfolded. Then again, Samsung does make some very rugged phones, as evidenced recently by a Galaxy S23 that stayed in icy waters for a very long time and came out working perfectly. Samsung has said that the Fold 7 is its most advanced foldable smartphone to date, and it's not kidding. The Fold looks, feels, and performs like a high-end piece of kit, and is undoubtedly one of the best foldable phones of this year.
Samsung listened to feedback, and made a product that fans have been wanting for quite a while. It's no wonder, then, that the Fold 7 is crushing it in markets around the world, breaking record after record. Even consumers in China, who had been pursuing domestic offerings as of late, have been pre-ordering the Fold 7 in droves.
If Samsung can keep up this same energy for the Fold 8, then it will give next year's foldable iPhone a very tough time indeed.

Moto G06 is coming, here's the price
Motorola's Moto G series has always been quite expansive, but recently it feels like it's grown even more than ever. And it will continue to - according to a new leak, the Moto G06 is coming, even though its predecessor has only been on the market for a few months. As the name implies, this should be a barebones entry-level model, and today a European retailer listing has revealed its ballpark pricing. According to this, the Moto G06 with 64GB of storage will go for €122.90 in the Eurozone, while if you opt for 256GB of storage it will cost you €169.90. It's weird that there's no 128GB option, but perhaps that's just an issue with this listing and it will be offered as well. If so, expect its price to fall in between the aforementioned values. All the storage variants come with 4GB of RAM, by the way. The Moto G06 will be available in three colorways, it seems, based on this particular listing, and their names are Tapestry, Arabesque, and Tendril. These sound like Pantone-certified colors, and that wouldn't be surprising given Motorola's long-standing partnership with Pantone. Unfortunately, no actual specs for the G06 have been outed right now. For reference, note that the Moto G05 has a 6.67-inch 720x1604 LCD screen with 90 Hz refresh rate, the MediaTek Helio G81 Extreme SoC at the helm, a 50 MP rear camera, an 8 MP selfie camera, and a 5,200 mAh battery with support for 18W wired charging. P When Jerry pulled the Z7 backwards, I cringed. I don't put too much on these tests but it is good to see the phone won't easily bend. One of main causes of damaged to the screen comes from the inside when heat damages the board or wires. The exposed wire rubs against the back of the screen and you get a black screen. It's not the only reason for damaged screens, but it is probably responsible for many of the damages that happens out the blue. The wires are very delicate. And the rest is basically system-wide colors, corner radius, apps icons, and a couple of cheap 'dynamic effects'. Also, OriginOS quick settings panel when separated is looking exactly like a cheap copy of the iOS one, while Samsung one is nothing like those two. And let's not talk about "Origin island". To answer your question, I'm currently using 3 phones like a maniac haha. I kept my s23 Ultra to use solely for gaming, as that takes a toll on the battery. I got the Fold 5 by mistake actually, my wife wanted to go from the iPhone 13 pro max to the 15 pro max but then reconsidered, as it was no noticeable upgrade for her. But it was too late, the phone was already ordered so we either had to accept the iPhone or choose another phone, and I chose the Fold5 for me. I was skeptical, as foldables for me seemed too fragile, but I also wanted to try one out really badly. And it worked out perfectly. The issue with Samsung (and Apple) are the atrocious cameras, so I bought a Xiaomi 14 Ultra last year, to use as a travel phone, got it at 600€ only. Great phone but crappy software and the battery doesn't last even as much as the Fold. Now I traded in the 5 to get the 7, because the issues I had with the Fold5 were all fixed for me in the 7, i.e. the thickness and cover screen. The battery lasts me all day, sometimes even 1.5 days, charges in an hour, is just great. Is it overpriced? Absolutely. But that comes down to personal choice. If Honor or Vivo would have the same software and customer support as Samsung, then I would gladly switch to them as they have better hardware, but as of now, people need to look at the complete package. For me, personally, the software experience is more important than 1-2 hours of extra battery or a better telephoto camera. But that's just me. That's why I said it's very subjective and you can't just blatantly say a brand has bad products just because you had bad experience. Anyways, you had issues with fast charging, while I had issues with slow charging, not just on Samsung devices, but anything that only had around 18W charging speeds. However my current device is 2 years old, it's a china only model, which has 80W wired, 50W wireless charging, battery health is still at 93%.
