No One Keeps A Secret is the latest gripping, genre-blurring novel from Denise Brown.
A Kirkcudbright author has released her latest young adult novel.
And the Artists' Town has provided some of the inspiration for No One Keeps A Secret by Denise Brown.

Denise's gripping, genre-blurring novels have fast become must-reads for lovers of pacey, addictive storytelling.

This is Denise's fourth book with prize-winning indie publisher Hashtag Press, with It All Started With a Lie – released last year – a finalist in the prestigious Crime Fest Award - YA Book of the Year in May and shortlisted in the Spark! Book Award in June.
Set in a remote Scottish coastal village, this clever, twisty murder mystery centres on three teenagers – Haigh, Cherry, and Sunrise –who track a missing chihuahua to an abandoned funfair… only to stumble across a corpse, strangled by his own camera strap.
The man was meant to be 400 miles away in London. So why is he lying dead in their village?
As the investigation spirals, so does the danger – revealing mafia ties, gossiping grannies, and a still-operating ghost train. For these teens, the truth might be closer to home than they think.

Denise said: 'The harbour, the trawlers, the bandstand: they can all be found in Kirkcudbright. Scottish Nights are held throughout the summer, complete with unbeaten tug-of-war team, and Oona the unicorn is real too.
"Well, she's made of wicker, and she isn't known as Oona, but she exists.

'There is even a willow tree shelter similar to the one in which Haigh and Cherry discover Haigh's mum. And if readers visit on the last Sunday of the month, they'll be able to visit the farmer's market too.'

Line of Duty icon confirms BBC show 'definitely coming back' for season 7

Line of Duty's seventh season is reportedly underway and the show is set to return to screens very soon after a four-year break. Line of Duty actor Adrian Dunbar has confirmed the BBC crime drama is set to return to screens much sooner than we think. The beloved show, which debuted in 2012, was created by Jed Mercurio and centred around the Anti-Corruption Unit 12 (AC-12), a fictional team tasked with 'policing the police'. ‌ The programme's iconic cast included Martin Compston, who plays DS Steve Arnott, Vicky McClure as DI Kate Fleming and Dunbar, who portrays Superintendent Ted Hastings. Line of Duty ran for six seasons before ending in 2021 and broke records within the BBC, becoming the highest rated drama in the UK since 2002. ‌ The programme concluded when Steve and the team finally unveiled the identity of the criminal ringleader 'H'. Although the show has not been on screens for four years, it was never officially cancelled with Mercurio and the cast expressing interest in reviving it multiple times in recent years. ‌ Adrian has now weighed in once again on the rumours that Line of Duty is returning soon with an update that is sure to send fans into a frenzy. In a recent interview with The Telegraph, he was pointedly asked if a seventh season was on the cards. ‌ He said: "Oh, it's definitely coming back. Some time next year. "We're just waiting for the BBC to announce it." While the 66-year-old has claimed the show is returning several times in the past, only for nothing to come of it, he is certain of it this time. ‌ He added: "I know Jed is writing. And Martin and Vicky are very keen." It was reported by The Sun in April that Line of Duty was officially returning. ‌ A source told the publication: "This is the news Line of Duty fans have been waiting for since the sixth season left them deflated when it aired back in 2021. "The BBC almost immediately requested more episodes to continue the story, but the success of the show meant Vicky, Martin and Adrian were instantly snapped up for other projects. ‌ "But after several meetings with Jed and the production team, they've finally managed to clear space in their calendars next year to commit to making the show." The publication claimed that Jed had already written most of the storyline for the new season and that it would go into production later this year with an estimated air date of late 2026. Since the finale, talks of a subsequent season have repeatedly been raised. ‌ In 2023, Compston teased: "We have a chat group called Line of Duty 6 and a while ago Jed changed the name of it to Line of Duty 7." He later revealed on his podcast, Restless Natives: "We have had such a good run with it and a bit of you does go 'Let's walk away on a high', but we all want to work together again because we are so close." Meanwhile, Vicky is equally as keen to revive the show after saying she'd "love" to return. When Line of Duty's season six finale aired, the BBC's chief content officer Charlotte Moore said that she was "looking forward to having a conversation with the team about where we go next and what the future of the series might be".
