As Delhiites debate Supreme Court's directive on stray dogs, monkey spotted inside Delhi Metro; video goes viral
The people of Delhi have been busy debating whether stray dogs should be allowed to roam freely after the Supreme Court, on August 11, issued a directive to round up all stray dogs in the city and confine them in shelters within six to eight weeks. Meanwhile, a monkey has stolen the spotlight by turning up inside the Delhi Metro. Often described as the capital's traffic lifeline, the metro has seen its fair share of bizarre and amusing moments, from passenger squabbles to impromptu dance routines. But this incident was in a league of its own. The monkey was casually strolling since the train, right down the aisle, leaving passengers wide-eyed. In the viral clip, the animal can be seen making its way past seated travellers, who remain still and quiet, watching the unexpected 'co-passenger' in disbelief. Some grab their phones to capture the scene. The post claims the footage was shot on a train headed towards Vaishali. वैशाली मेट्रो के अंदर घुसा बंदर , पूरी मेट्रो में लगाई दौड़ , मेट्रो कर्मियों के द्वारा निकाला गया बंदर — VIVEK YADAV (@vivek4news) August 12, 2025 According to the same claim, metro staff eventually stepped in to guide the monkey out of the coach. The video, posted on X by user @vivek4news, was shared with the caption: 'Monkey entered Vaishali Metro, ran all over the metro, monkey was taken out by metro workers.' Not long ago, a pigeon made headlines after being spotted calmly perched inside the women's coach. But while the bird seemed content to simply sit still, the monkey's curious exploration offered commuters a far livelier, and unexpected, journey.
