Government Media Office in Gaza refutes lies of Israeli occupation government coordinator

Gaza – Saba: Today, Tuesday, the Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip refuted the lies spread by the Coordinator of Government Activities of the Israeli occupation regarding the deliberate starvation policy imposed on the civilian population in Gaza. In a statement received by the Yemen News Agency (SABA), the office described the Israeli coordinator's statement as nothing but a baseless leap and a desperate attempt to cover up an internationally documented crime—the systematic starvation of Gaza's more than 2.4 million residents, in blatant violation of the Geneva Conventions and international humanitarian law. The statement added: 'The Israeli enemy resorted to falsifying facts through misleading narratives aimed at the public and international opinion, cherry-picking individual cases in a foolish and failed attempt to obscure the full-scale humanitarian catastrophe.' The Government Media Office in Gaza outlined ten facts that expose and refute the false claims made by the Israeli coordinator. Regarding internationally documented field facts, the office stressed that all international organizations and United Nations agencies—including the World Food Program, OCHA, and the World Health Organization—have officially reported that levels of hunger and malnutrition in Gaza have reached severe stages of famine. Hundreds of martyrs, including dozens of children, have died due to hunger and lack of food and medicine caused by the closure of crossings, the imposition of a total blockade, the prevention of food and aid entry. These are neutral international testimonies, not statements from any particular government or faction, as falsely claimed by the Israeli enemy. Concerning chronic diseases, which do not exempt responsibility, the Government Media Office pointed out that the Israeli enemy claimed some martyrs suffered from chronic illnesses to absolve itself, but international law is clear: even chronic patients require food, medical care, and medicines, all of which the enemy has deprived them of through its blockade and the ban on their entry into Gaza. It confirmed that 'the deaths of these people are a direct result of malnutrition and lack of medicine, making the enemy fully responsible. Even those who left for treatment before the war returned to a besieged environment without food or medicine, which hastened their death.' Regarding the accuracy of the Palestinian health figures and their natural rise, the office stressed that the numbers issued by the Palestinian Ministry of Health are precise and documented according to clear health standards. The rise in death toll is a natural development due to the ongoing siege and food ban: after four deaths in the early months of the war when some stock remained, the number rose to 50 following the tightening of the blockade, and now has reached 168 deaths from hunger since the complete ban on food entry on March 2, 2025, and total depletion of supplies. The blockade crime has been documented in sound and image since the first day of the war, when the enemy closed crossings, prevented food and medicine entry, destroyed farms, warehouses, and bakeries, and wiped out the agricultural and livestock sectors. The office noted that annual vegetable production dropped from 405,000 tons to only 28,000 tons for 2.4 million people. It further stated that the Israeli enemy destroyed 665 cattle, sheep, and poultry farms, targeted aid convoys by detaining them and stealing their contents—an unprecedented humanitarian crime. 'These are not Palestinian narratives but facts documented by audio-visual evidence and international organizations' testimonies, all stemming from the Israeli enemy's deliberate decision to starve Gaza's population,' it said. The Government Media Office highlighted that the Israeli enemy did not stop at blocking aid but deliberately bombed 44 charitable food kitchens ('takiyas'), killing dozens of workers. It targeted 57 food distribution centers and opened fire on queues of hungry people at 'aid points,' turning them into 'death traps' as part of a systematic starvation policy. It pointed to official admissions by Israeli leaders of the starvation policy against the Palestinian people in Gaza. Ministers in the Israeli government publicly and on record acknowledged the siege policy. For example, the Israeli Defense Minister stated: 'We will cut off everything from Gaza: no electricity, no food, no water, no gas.' Extremist ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich declared: 'We will not let a single grain of wheat into Gaza.' Some even called for using nuclear bombs against Gaza's residents, all of which is documented with sound, images, and videos across various media outlets. Regarding the continued ban and the more than 430 prohibited food items, the Government Media Office in Gaza said: 'Despite international pressure that led the enemy to allow some trucks to enter on Sunday, July 27, 2025, it still bans over 430 food items, including various frozen meats, frozen fish, cheeses, dairy products, frozen vegetables, fruits, and hundreds of other items needed by the starving and the sick.' On the ban of journalists from covering the crime, the office confirmed that since the start of the genocide, the Israeli enemy has prohibited foreign journalists and international media officials from entering Gaza, aiming to conceal the crimes of extermination, starvation, forced displacement, and destruction. 'Even after announcing permission to enter, it retracted the decision, indicating its fear of exposing the facts on the ground and the failure of its narrative from the start,' it added. The office said the Israeli enemy's narrative has been exposed worldwide, with global populations fully aware of the deception and lies it practices, while the credibility of the Palestinian narrative is confirmed by international delegations and UN field reports, witnessed live on TV with sound and image. It noted that the Israeli enemy's image in global awareness has become a symbol of organized crimes and international isolation, with its global image no less contemptible than the image of the shoe thrown on the ground. The Government Media Office in Gaza reiterated that everything in the Israeli coordinator's statement is a failed attempt to hide the truth, which confirms that Israel uses food as a weapon of war, killing civilians slowly through starvation , siege in a documented genocide that requires urgent international intervention to stop and hold perpetrators accountable before international justice. It is worth noting that Palestinians in Gaza are currently facing an unprecedented wave of hunger since the Israeli enemy closed the crossings of the Strip in early March and imposed strict restrictions on the entry of food aid, relief supplies, fuel, and medicine. Over time, Gaza's residents exhausted all food resources; stores became empty, and finding a loaf of bread became almost impossible. Available goods witnessed exorbitant price hikes, making 'death by hunger' one of the most severe causes of death in the Strip. With U.S. and European support, since October 7, 2023, the Israeli army continues to commit genocide crimes in Gaza, resulting in the martyrdom of 61,599 Palestinian civilians, mostly children and women, and injuring 154,088 others, with thousands of victims still trapped under rubble and in streets inaccessible to rescue teams.
