Houthis issue statement on launching 11 missiles on ‘Israeli' targets

Roya News10 hours ago
The military spokesperson for the Houthi Movement in Yemen, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, announced Monday that their air defenses successfully intercepted an 'Israeli' air assault targeting several cities in Yemen, hours after the 'Israeli' army launched a series of airstrikes on the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah.
According to a statement released by the Yemeni military, the 'Israeli' air assault failed to carry out its objectives after Yemeni air defenses forced multiple hostile formations to withdraw from the airspace without launching their intended strikes. The statement added that the operation was thwarted using domestically manufactured surface-to-air missiles.
In response to what it described as 'Zionist aggression' and in continued support of the Palestinian people, the Yemeni Armed Forces said they carried out a large-scale joint operation involving 11 ballistic missiles and drones targeting strategic sites inside occupied Palestine.
The statement detailed the following targets:
Lod Airport: Hit by a 'Palestine-2' hypersonic ballistic missile.
Ashdod Port: Struck by a hypersonic ballistic missile.
Ashkelon Power Station: Targeted with a hypersonic ballistic missile.
Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat) Port: Attacked by eight drones.
The Yemeni Armed Forces claimed that all projectiles and drones reached their intended targets, adding that 'Israeli' defense systems failed to intercept them.
The military pledged continued operations in support of the 'oppressed Palestinian people' and confirmed full preparedness to confront any future military escalation, including 'Israeli' attempts to break the Yemeni-imposed naval blockade.
This escalation comes shortly after 'Israeli' military radio announced the beginning of airstrikes on Hodeidah following threats to strike key ports in Yemen, including Ras Isa and Salif. 'Israeli' military sources claimed the strikes targeted areas allegedly used for hostile activities originating from Yemeni territory.
The 'Israeli' army had earlier ordered the evacuation of the Hodeidah power station in preparation for its air raids, describing the strikes as part of a broader response to growing threats from Yemen.

Netanyahu in Washington as Trump Hopes for Gaza Ceasefire Agreement - Jordan News

Netanyahu in Washington as Trump Hopes for Gaza Ceasefire Agreement Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived in Washington on Monday, where he is scheduled to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump, who expressed optimism about reaching a ceasefire deal with Hamas this week that would include the release of hostages held in the Gaza Strip. اضافة اعلان Indirect negotiations between Tel Aviv and Hamas resumed Sunday evening in Doha, focusing on the implementation mechanisms for a potential agreement, including prisoner exchange, according to a Palestinian source familiar with the talks. President Trump stated on Sunday that there is a "good chance" for an agreement, telling reporters: 'We've already succeeded in getting several hostages out, and we expect a substantial number of the remaining hostages to be released this week.' Before departing Ben Gurion Airport, Netanyahu said he believes the upcoming meeting with Trump could "definitely contribute" to advancing a goal they both share—securing a ceasefire and hostage release. The White House confirmed the meeting is expected after 6:30 p.m. local time (22:30 GMT), but without the usual media presence. Trump is pushing for a ceasefire in Gaza, which has faced a catastrophic humanitarian crisis after nearly 21 months of war. Netanyahu stated: 'I have sent a negotiating team with clear instructions... to finalize the agreement as discussed, under the terms we approved.' However, on Saturday, Netanyahu described Hamas's recent amendments to the deal as 'unacceptable.' A Proposal on the Table According to Palestinian sources, the new proposal includes: A 60-day ceasefire Hamas releasing half of the living Israeli hostages Israel freeing a significant number of Palestinian detainees Hamas is reportedly demanding: Israeli troop withdrawal from Gaza during the truce International guarantees to prevent the resumption of hostilities UN and internationally recognized NGOs to oversee the distribution of humanitarian aid A Mission of High Stakes Israeli President Isaac Herzog commented after meeting with Netanyahu on Sunday, saying the Prime Minister has a 'mission of great importance' in Washington: 'To bring all our hostages home.' There are still 49 hostages held in Gaza, including 27 declared dead by Israeli authorities. Previous Ceasefires A first ceasefire in November 2023, and a second truce for nearly two months in early 2025, led to the release of hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, through Qatari, American, and Egyptian mediation. However, no deal was reached for the next phase, prompting Israel to resume military operations in mid-March, intensifying them in May with the stated aim of eliminating Hamas, which has ruled Gaza since 2007. — AFP

Two Missing, two injured after ship attacked off Yemen

ALBAWABA- At least two crew members were injured and two remain missing after a Liberia-flagged commercial vessel was attacked near the Yemeni port city of Hodeidah, Reuters reported, citing a maritime security source. Also Read Houthis strike Israel with 2 missiles after attack on Hodeidah The incident occurred approximately 49 nautical miles southwest of the port, according to the Ambrey Maritime Security Company. This marks the second attack on vessels in the Red Sea within 24 hours. Just a day earlier, the Houthis claimed responsibility for targeting the cargo ship Magic Seas, which subsequently sank. Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree confirmed via social media that the vessel had been 'completely submerged,' stating that it had repeatedly violated the group's ban on ships entering Israeli ports. Saree alleged that the ship's operators had ignored prior warnings, noting that three of its vessels had recently docked in 'occupied Palestine' despite Houthi objections. The group has declared a naval blockade on ships bound for Israel, part of a wider campaign of attacks on Red Sea shipping. Meanwhile, the U.K. Ambassador to Yemen, Abda Sharif, denounced the attack as 'horrific,' warning that it risks triggering an environmental disaster and disrupts the delivery of essential goods and humanitarian aid to Yemen. She added that the strike not only endangered the crew aboard Magic Seas but also caused collateral damage to another vessel in the region. Also Read Ten killed in Kenya's Saba Saba protests The U.S. Embassy in Yemen also issued a strong condemnation, accusing the Houthi leadership of undermining freedom of navigation and exacerbating economic hardship and instability in Yemen. The British military confirmed that water had begun leaking into the vessel attacked near Hodeidah and that the crew was preparing to abandon ship. The Magic Seas, which was en route to Egypt at the time of its sinking, is the latest casualty in a series of Houthi attacks on commercial and civilian vessels in the Red Sea over the past 18 months.
