To improve your experience update it here The mum of missing Queensland teenager Pheobe Bishop has issued a further plea for public assistance, as the search for the 17-year-old daughter approaches a third week. Pheobe was last seen on May 15 before she failed to board a flight from Bundaberg to Perth. Despite large scale police searches, including in rugged bushland last week , detectives have been unable to locate the young girl. Pheobe Bishop's mum Kylie Johnson issued a heartbreaking video statement, urging anyone with information to come forward. (Queensland Police) Today, her mum Kylie Johnson issued a heartbreaking video statement, urging anyone with information to come forward. "This is a pain no person or family should ever have to experience," Johnson said. "Pheobe was a beautiful, loving, kind person, and everyday not knowing where she has been is devastating for us. "This is why we're appealing to anyone with any information that may help to bring Pheobe home, to contact police. "Even the smallest bit of information may be all the police need to find Pheobe." Police say Pheobe's housemates Tanika Bromley and James Wood were the last to see her about 8.30am on May 15, when they claim they dropped her off outside Bundaberg Regional Airport. They've both since been charged with unrelated weapons offences. Pheobe Bishop's mum, Kylie Johnson, said the family's "heartache and pain is raw and real". (Facebook/Kylie Johnson) Their home in Gin Gin has been declared a crime scene, and a grey Hyundai has been seized. Detectives are still appealing for vision or sightings of a grey Hyundai ix35 in the greater Gin Gin area between May 15 and 18. "I know that this investigation isn't over. It will not be over for me until we find Pheobe," Johnson said. "I still hold hope that Pheobe will come home, but I have to consider the possibility that she also won't. "If the worst-case scenario has happened, I at least need to know where she's resting. I need to know where Pheobe is. "My daughter wouldn't just disappear. Someone knows something and as a mum I'm asking you to come forward with your information." Police say they continue to "run out several lines of enquiry". The greater Gin Gin area remains the focus of the investigation. queensland

‘Cheeky, kind' man killed in horrific East Freo truck crash

The devastated family of an e-scooter rider who died when he was hit by a truck in East Fremantle has spoken of the 'free-spirited, fun-loving, kind and empathetic soul' they lost last week. Kevin Sanders, 31, was killed after the scooter he was riding collided with a truck at the intersection of Canning and Stirling highways late on May 28. Mr Sanders' cousin Kerrie Farrell told PerthNow the pair had grown up together in their nanna's house in Bullsbrook. 'He was so cheeky but the most loving, caring and happiest person I know,' Ms Farrell said through tears. 'You could be in the worst mood and that man would never let anyone be sad, he would light up every room he walked into.' His family said he lit up every room he walked into. Credit: Facebook Mr Sanders had a passion for fixing electric scooters and dedicated his time to tinkering with them when he wasn't working as a landscaper, often sharing YouTube videos to help others. His family said he was very hardworking but would want to be remembered for his humour. 'Cracking jokes and making people smile was important to Kevin because it would fill his cup,' Melanie Farrell — another of Mr Sanders' cousins — said. 'He will forever be remembered as the most adventurous, caring soul that had time for anyone and everyone.' Mr Sanders' mother Suzanne Sanders posted a social media tribute to her son just two days after the accident. Kevin you were the goofiest, funniest young man. Always laughing, making others laugh and having a joke. 'It is with immeasurable sadness that I write this post today,' it read. 'Our biggest boy sadly passed away after a vehicle accident on Wednesday night. 'Kevin you were the goofiest, funniest young man. Always laughing, making others laugh and having a joke, not to mention waking me up at crazy times to visit. 'Loved by so many and will be missed more than you could ever imagine. 'Rest peacefully, sweetheart, we love you xx.' Friend Michael Styles had been on a ride with the 31-year-old earlier that fateful night and posted a video of the group riding through the streets. Mr Styles wrote on social media that he could not believe Mr Sanders was gone and that they had been riding together just half an hour earlier. 'Can't believe you're gone, just can't believe (I) saw and (hung) out that night, only 30mins before going home from the group ride,' he wrote. Kevin Sanders. Credit: Supplied 'Ya going to be missed by a lot definitely made us laugh a lot, and so many rides together r.i.p man just wish it was just a bad dream miss ya man (sic).' Another friend, Rhys Scott Maher, posted videos of Mr Sanders riding his e-scooter, writing that he did not deserve to die. A nurse who was on her way home from a nearby aged care facility also spoke of the moment she tried to save Mr Sanders after she saw him lying on the road. 'I came out of my car to save his life, but then I saw him, he was badly injured,' she said. 'I am so sad for him and his family. 'I was literally crying last night . . . I couldn't save that man.' Mr Sanders' cousins said they are 'eternally grateful' to the nurse who tried to save him. Recent figures provided to Parliament show four people have been killed riding an e-scooter in the first five months of the year — higher than the three in 2024, and just one death the year prior. A pedestrian in Perth also died this week after being struck by an e-scooter on Saturday night. Thanh Phan, 51, died later from critical injuries received in the incident. Alicia Kemp, a 24-year-old visiting from the UK, is accused of striking Mr Phan at the intersection of Murray and King streets about 8.40pm on Saturday. On Tuesday one of her initial charges was upgraded to dangerous driving occasioning death under the influence of alcohol. She also faces a charge of dangerous driving occasioning bodily harm under the influence of alcohol after her 26-year-old female pillion passenger suffered non life-threatening injuries in the crash and was treated in hospital.

Fresh details emerge about dead dog speculations on Gin Gin property where missing teen Pheobe Bishop lived before vanishing without a trace

Pheobe Bishop's male housemate has confided in a friend about why a number of dead dogs were removed from his Gin Gin property just days after the teenager suspiciously disappeared from regional Queensland. Gin Gin couple and housemates of Pheobe, Tanika Bromley and James Wood were the last people to see her alive on the morning of May 15. The 17-year-old was spotted being driven to Airport Drive, Bundaberg, in Bromley's grey Hyundai ix35, to board a scheduled flight to Western Australia. However, Queensland Police are 'quite confident' the 17-year-old never made it to the airport, despite claims made by her housemates. The Gin Gin property where Pheobe resided prior to her disappearance, as well as the grey Hyundai she was last seen travelling in are at the centre of police investigations. After police declared the Gin Gin property a crime scene, neighbours reported a "stomach-churning" smell emitting from the home as several dead dogs were removed during investigations. Although reports vary on the number of dead dogs removed from the property, one neighbour believes as many as 13 had been found. However, on Wednesday the Daily Mail reported in a leaked message Mr Wood told a friend the animals were in fact puppies that died of natural causes. "They didn't get killed. There was five puppies out of a litter of 13 that contracted hookworm and passed before the treatment could work," Mr Wood wrote in a message. Hookworms are deadly parasitic worms that are common in cats and dogs when subject to overcrowding and poor sanitisation. Pheobe was last seen alive 20 days ago with police recently calling off "physical searches" for the teen, as they arrested Mr Wood on Wednesday morning to assist with inquiries into the disappearance. No charges have yet been laid against Mr Wood and Sky News makes no suggestions he or Ms Bromley were involved in Pheobe's disappearance. The pair have previously been charged with weapons-related offences unrelated to Pheobe's disappearance. Police allegedly located a shortened firearm, ammunition and two replica handguns, inside Ms Bromley's grey Hyundai, but she was granted bail for her offences. Her matter is set to return to court on June 23, while Mr Wood will face court on June 13. Mr Wood is currently living in a car with his dog as investigations continue, while Ms Bromley is staying with family members. Police are continuing to appeal for information, vision, or sightings of the grey Hyundai ix35 in which Pheobe was last seen travelling between May 15 and 18.

Housemate arrested amid missing girl investigation

A housemate of missing teenager Pheobe Bishop has been arrested over the 17-year-old's "suspicious" disappearance. James Wood, 34, has been taken into custody, almost three weeks after Pheobe missed a flight and vanished in southern Queensland. Pheobe was last seen near Bundaberg airport about 8.30am on May 15 after booking a trip to Western Australia to see her boyfriend. CCTV footage indicated Pheobe never arrived at the airport terminal, police said. Police on Wednesday said a man was in custody but no charges had been laid. "A 34-year-old man ... is assisting police with enquiries as part of ongoing investigations into the disappearance of Pheobe Bishop," a statement said. Police earlier on Wednesday said they had scaled back their search for Pheobe after combing the Gin Gin area where the teenager lived with Wood and a woman on a property. The Gin Gin property near Bundaberg and a grey Hyundai ix35, thought to have been used to take Pheobe to the airport, were declared crime scenes soon after her disappearance. Wood and Pheobe's other housemate Tanika Kristan Bromley have since been charged with weapons offences. Bromley was granted bail at Bundaberg Magistrates Court to reappear on June 23 while Wood was issued a notice to appear on June 13. Police said the weapons charges were unrelated to Pheobe's disappearance and there was no suggestion Bromley or Wood were involved. Pheobe's mother Kylie Johnson has been pleading for information since her daughter's disappearance, documenting her family's heartache on social media. In her latest post Ms Johnson wondered if her life would be the same. "Starting day 20 with you still missing Pheobe," she posted on Facebook on Wednesday. "I don't know if life will ever be the same again? I don't know if I will ever look at the world the same way that I did before May 15th. "What I do know is that people have information on where you are Phee and we need that reported to police." In a video statement released by Queensland Police at the weekend, Ms Johnson said she still held onto hope but had to consider the possibility her daughter wasn't coming home. "This is a pain no person or family should ever have to experience," she said. The police search initially focused on Good Night Scrub national park, an hour's drive from Bundaberg airport, with homicide detectives, cadaver dogs and divers called in. Some items believed to be linked to the investigation were seized for forensic examination. The search revealed evidence might have been moved from the national park before police arrived. Police then focused on Gin Gin where Pheobe lived with Wood and Bromley. The community rallied around the missing teen's family during the search with the "Leave the Lights On for Pheobe" campaign. Gin Gin locals posted photos on social media of their front lights switched on "to guide Pheobe home". Anyone with information, footage or sightings of the grey Hyundai between May 15 and May 18 in the Gin Gin area has been urged to contact police. Pheobe is about 180cm tall with a pale complexion, long hair that has been dyed red and hazel eyes. She was last seen carrying luggage, wearing a green tank top and grey sweatpants.
