Isabella's Islay whisky bottle is a luxury masterpiece, made of English crystal, studded with over 8,500 diamonds and 300 rubies, and coated twice in white gold
The title of the world's most expensive whisky goes to Isabella's Islay, a bottle that comes with a jaw-dropping price tag of $6 million, or around Rs 52 crore. While the whisky itself is premium and well-aged, most of the price is attributed to its extravagant packaging.
To put things into perspective, this single bottle costs about as much as a luxury mansion in Noida or Gurugram. And let's be honest, if you're wealthy enough to buy it, you're probably not going to complain about the taste. In fact, owning this whisky is more about flaunting your wealth than sipping fine liquor. But what exactly makes it so special, and so expensive?
The bottle of Isabella's Islay is less of a container and more of a work of art. Crafted from handmade English crystal, it's studded with over 8,500 diamonds and 300 rubies. To top it off, the bottle is coated twice in white gold, showcasing the finest of British craftsmanship.
One of its standout features is personalisation, the diamond lettering on the bottle can be customised as per the buyer's request. The front inscription, written in red, is made entirely from rubies. Each bottle also comes housed in a luxurious wooden case, adding to its regal appeal. It's no surprise that this extravagant packaging plays a major role in the whisky's multi-million dollar price tag.
The 750 ml bottle, priced at around Rs 52 crore, breaks down to approximately Rs 2 crore per 30 ml peg. In other words, a single drink could cost you a luxury apartment in Gurugram. Isabella's Islay Original is produced by the UK-based Luxury Beverage Company, and is crafted using malted barley. It offers a distinctive flavour profile, a buttery toasted wood-smoke essence, complemented by fresh barley, a silky texture, and a refined finish.
Other Lavish Editions
The brand also offers other ultra-premium variants. The Isabella's Islay Special Edition, for instance, is priced at around $740,000 per bottle. This edition, too, comes in a handmade English crystal decanter, plated with white gold and adorned with diamonds, all presented in an English hand-carved wooden case. Its flavour is smooth and fresh, with a velvety texture that defines luxury.
Another variant, the Scota Premium Whisky, is named after Scota, the mythical Egyptian princess believed to be the ancestor of the Scottish people. This whisky pays tribute to Scotland's ancient heritage and comes bottled in a Celtic-inspired handmade decanter, again stored in an elegant wooden case. The drink is known for its soft, silky mouthfeel and complex flavour, combining smoky notes with hints of fruit, berries, and wood.
Islay Silver Senel Noengusa whisky
Perhaps the most regal of them all is the Isabella's Islay Silver Senel Noengusa whisky. Bottled in a silver-coated decanter with gold lettering, this edition pays homage to the kings and chieftains of ancient Scotland, particularly the Senel Noengusa region, once ruled by the Scots. The decanter is presented in a premium wooden case and the whisky boasts rich flavours of red wine, crème brûlée, with undertones of vanilla and aged wood.
Where To Buy
Bottles of Isabella's Islay are extremely rare and not something you'd find at your local liquor store. Very few retailers have the courage. or capital, to stock something so expensive. The most reliable way to buy one is to contact the distillery directly through the Luxury Beverage Company.

CM Stalin announces Rs 6.5 crore butter production centre in TN's Uthukuli to boost dairy farmers' income

TIRUPPUR: Farmers expressed joy after Chief Minister MK Stalin announced that the state government will set up a butter production centre in Uthukuli of Tiruppur district. Stalin, during a welfare assistance distribution event in Udumalaipet on Monday, announced various upcoming development projects for Tiruppur district. This included a new butter production centre for Rs 6.5 crore in Uthukuli, which has been a long-pending demand of local farmers. S Chinnasamy, district secretary of Tamil Nadu Farmers Association (CPI), said, "Uthukuli is famous for dairy products such as butter, ghee, curd and buttermilk. Traditionally, this industry has been operating since many generations. However, the number of companies involved in butter and ghee production is decreasing by the day. There are many dairy farmers in Uthukuli who rely on the butter and ghee industry, and are involved in milk production. We had been requesting the state government to take appropriate steps to protect this industry, and a part of this demand was to establish a butter production centre in Uthukuli." "We welcome the announcement made by the chief minister. This centre will definitely serve as a boost for the farmers, as it will likely purchase milk from the farmers. This will also ensure that private companies provide fair prices to farmers," he added. R Kumar, district secretary of Tamil Nadu Farmers Association (AIKS), said, "The announcement of a butter production centre in Uthukuli is a welcome one. However, it is unclear as to how this will be implemented, and if Aavin administration will manage it." S Paramasivam, district treasurer of Tamil Nadu Milk Producers Association, said, "Private companies have been dominating butter and ghee production in the state. We believe the new unit will encourage butter production through Aavin. But for farmers to reap the benefits of this centre, the government should increase milk procurement through Aavin." "Tamil Nadu produces 1.35 crore litres of milk daily, of which Aavin handles only 30-35 lakh litres of milk," he added. A senior official from Aavin (Tiruppur) said, "We are yet to receive the scheme details and procedural details. Until then, we cannot comment on the announcement."
