Hulu's ‘King Of The Hill' Resurrection Lands A Peak Rotten Tomatoes Score

King of the Hill is not the first shows to circle back around for another season long after it's left the air, but the show, which first began back in 1997, has returned for season 14 on Hulu. This is 15 years after the show ended in 2010, the gang returning for another run of 10 episodes, obviously less than half of what we used to get, but such is the way of streaming now. The good news is…well, it's all good news. King of the Hill is already Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, and at a full on 100% score with two dozen reviews in. It's only out today, so audience scores have not come in yet at any meaningful capacity. King of the Hill does not have an overall Rotten Tomatoes score over its lifetime because barely any seasons got enough reviews in to calculate that. But again, this is in the '90s and '00s mainly. Two of the three seasons that do have scores are also 100%. Here's the synopsis for season 14, and yes, time has progressed in the show, we're not just hopping back in at the end of season 13: While most of the core cast returned, in 15 years there have been some unfortunate developments, like the deaths of Brittany Murphy and Tom Petty who voiced characters in the series. With Bobby grown up, there was some talk of recasting his voice actor, Pamela Adlon, but they ended up not doing that, and she has tried to modify her voice to fit his new age (children are often voiced by women in animation). It's been a pretty decent turnaround time after the show was greenlit in January 2023, paused for the Writers Strike and is now arriving in August 2025 here. And guess what? This isn't just a one-and-done revival, there is also season 15 coming down the road, as that was greenlit before this new season 14 even aired. And given the reception to the return of the series already, that seems like it was probably a good idea. It's one of the best comedy animated series of all time (you could probably make the argument it's the actual best) and it's great to see it back in action, I'll tell you what.
