Sicko horse killer and convicted paedophile back in court facing raft of fresh charges

Sunday World31-07-2025
In January we reported how the 25-year-old was continuing to trade horses despite being banned from keeping animals for seven years
That charge stands out because in January we reported how the 25-year-old was continuing to trade horses despite being banned from keeping animals for seven years after he brutally knifed a horse to death.
He admitted to us he WAS trading horses but claimed he was complying with all court orders and had no contact with the animals.
McGurk – a pal of killer jockey Jonathan Creswell – is a convicted child sex monster who was jailed for 15 months three years ago for having sex with a child, having originally been charged with rape.
The horse trader was later convicted of a disgraceful and shocking attack on a horse which he stabbed to death with a knife in a revenge attack on another 'horsey set' pervert Harry Evans – claiming in court he was high on drink and drugs when he killed the poor animal.
Earlier this year we revealed how McGurk was not only expecting his first child with his new partner but also he was continuing to trade horses despite the ban.
Speaking through his solicitor in January, McGurk claimed that he had no contact with the horses he buys and sells.
Two weeks ago McGurk posted a picture on his Facebook account of his newborn baby sitting on a white horse.
Now we can reveal McGurk is due to appear at Dungannon Magistrates Court to face five driving charges.
The alleged offences, which are all dated to have taken place on January 11, are that he drove with a defective brake light, that as a learner driver he was driving without supervision, that he was not displaying L plates, that he breached a traffic sign and, finally, that he was driving a horsebox without a number plate.
And it's not the first time he has been caught driving illegally.
In 2021 he was caught driving without insurance, failing to provide driving documents to police, failing to display a rear number plate and using a trailer which was in a dangerous condition, presenting a risk of injury.
Despite spending a considerable amount of time behind bars for the sex attack on a teenage girl and for stabbing a horse to death, it seems McGurk has not learned his lesson and is continuing to flout the law.
'He said back in January he wanted a quiet life and left alone to live his life didn't he? Well if he didn't keep behaving like the law doesn't apply to him then he'd maybe be able to do that,' said a source who tipped us off about his fresh court date.
McGurk was sentenced to 15 months behind bars for having sex with a girl, who was under 15 at the time, after he'd been boozing and taking cocaine at a party in October 2019.
He had initially been charged with rape, which he denied, but pleaded guilty to charge of sexual activity involving penetration with a child.
He was on bail for the horse cruelty matter when he sexually assaulted that child, who told the Sunday World after he was jailed she finally felt 'free of shame'.
After he was jailed for that, he was dealt with for the twisted horse abuse. McGurk said he had been drinking with Harry Evans and claimed that Evans had stabbed the horse after becoming 'agitated'.
Police found Evans at his Magherafelt home, where he showed them a video sent to him by McGurk.
The distressing footage clearly showed the horse being stabbed and when McGurk was arrested he gave a 'no comment' interview. A vet provided a report on the severity of the injuries, confirming he had to be put down.
The judge said the attack on the horse was clearly an act of revenge. He added: 'Repeatedly stabbing that totally innocent animal which had the misfortune to be in the defendant's care was a profoundly evil act.
'I cannot begin to imagine the level of what that defenceless horse suffered involving extreme pain, fear and distress. One cut was very deep and probably caused its death.
'This wasn't a moment of madness. It was at least four moments of madness. Blood was pooling around that defenceless animal's feet. That level of evil cruelty is disturbing.'
McGurk was jailed for seven months and banned from owning any animal for seven years.
The news that McGurk is again trading horses and is cocky enough to have a picture taken with one is sure to dismay animal rights campaigners.
After he was jailed and banned from keeping animals for seven years, the USPCA released a statement calling for him to be banned for life.
'The individual in this case carried out a truly disturbing and malicious act of animal cruelty – a 'moment of madness' that resulted in the loss of an innocent animal's life.
'Whilst we welcome the seven-month prison term, we believe that the level of violence and brutality involved in this attack should face a lifetime ban from owning animals, not seven years.'
He recently moved into a property in Beragh and had started a relationship with a woman who runs a successful small business.

COP ATTACK Mum who calls herself 'the Devil' bit cop, tried to gouge out his eye & branded him a 'fat c***' after kebab shop brawl A MUM who calls herself "the Devil" bit a cop and tried to gouge his eyes out after she brawled with a pal outside a kebab shop. Sara Cox "bicycle kicked" two police officers as they tried to arrest her and branded one a "f***ing fat c***". 5 Sara Cox attacked police officers after brawling with a pal Credit: Cavendish 5 The mum had also previously lashed out at cops Credit: Cavendish Advertisement The 39-year-old also targeted other cops in her foul-mouthed rant and sank her nails into a female officer's thigh. It was the third time Cox had lashed out at police after she previously kicked an officer in the stomach when she got drunk at her sister's baby shower. The mum-of-two also spat at a cop after downing booze at the same sister's wedding. Despite her previous violent behaviour, Cox avoided jail again and was instead handed a 12-month community order. Advertisement She admitted two charges of an assault on an emergency worker using threatening behaviour, criminal damage and obstructing police. Chester Magistrates' Court heard the latest attack came on June 24 after Cox had been out boozing with her pal Loretta Hender at the Lock Keeper pub. A row broke out, with the yob hurling Loretta's phone into a canal. When Loretta stormed off to get a kebab from the nearby Grill Maker takeaway, Cox followed and began attacking her. Advertisement Loretta told the court: "Sara turned up and I asked her to go away but she said she would not go away. After me telling her and telling the staff to tell her to leave, I pushed her because I felt threatened. "Then she went for me, fists flying. I was fighting for my own protection. She would not go away and leave me alone. "As a result of the incident I had bruising to my right eye." PC's Ethan Prosser and Emma Fox arrived and attempted to handcuff Cox but she began lashing out at them. She gouged at PC Prosser's eyes and spat at him as he desperately tried to restrain her. Advertisement Cox was pulled to the ground but kicked her legs in a "bicycle motion" - hitting both the officers - before biting PC Prosser. He said: "She was calling me a 'fat f***ing c*** and saying, 'I have not done anything wrong'. "I do not come to work to be assaulted. The incident left me feeling shaken. The behaviour was completely unnecessary. There was no reason for her to act in that way." PC Fox said she was kicked in the stomach and legs by Cox, who then dug her nails into her thigh. She told the court the thug only let go when she struck Cox on the forearm. Advertisement Cox, whose Facebook profile shows her sporting Devil horns, first attacked officers in 2018 after a ten-hour drinking binge. She had to be subdued with pepper spray after she called the officers ''rats' and began smashing up their patrol car. Then in 2022, Cox landed a "donkey kick" on an officer's stomach after she was chucked out of a bar following her sister's baby shower. Richard Thomas, defending, said: ''She says she has massive difficulties in respect of partners she has had, regularly being the victim of abuse from them but she was not anticipating that she was going to have to appear before the courts again. "She has been drinking some alcohol in 2025 but it was under control. Unfortunately, she realised that when she does drink alcohol things like this can happen and she cannot drink alcohol again, certainly not to the extent that she was. Advertisement "Through me she wants to apologise to the officers. She regrets the way she behaved towards them and accepted it was completely wrong to subject them to that violence." As well as the community order, Cox must complete 20 days of rehabilitation activity, pay £100 to Loretta for the lost phone and £199 in costs and a surcharge. 5 Cox had fought with a friend outside a kebab shop when police were called Credit: Cavendish 5 She bit one of the officers and sunk her nails into another one Credit: Cavendish 5 Cox avoided jail at Chester Magistrates' Court Credit: Cavendish

Alleged animal-abuser head of East Belfast ‘vigilantes' slams rival group

Leader of east Belfast 'vigilante' group who harassed migrants on streets walked free from court over horrific animal cruelty pics Neil Pinkerton was charged with animal cruelty for this shocking image but managed to walk free from court The man pictured here triumphantly holding aloft a bloodied and battered dead fox after his terrier dog tore it to bits is the leader of a so-called 'vigilante' group in east Belfast, the Sunday World can reveal. Nine years ago, fox-hunter Neil Pinkerton, of Clandeboye Street in the Templemore Avenue area of east Belfast, walked from court a free man when charges of animal cruelty against him were withdrawn. And today he is better known as the main man in the recently formed East Belfast Division One group which operates as a quazi-police force which challenges migrant men walking the streets. The horrific pictures obtained by the Sunday World show Pinkerton holding a dead fox and an injured terrier which had just ripped the fox apart were deemed by Belfast Crown Court to be completely within the law. The Beast from the East Neil Pinkerton having watched his dog butcher a fox Pinkerton had been charged with causing unnecessary suffering to a dog and a fox on December 28, 2016. He faced a third charge of causing the terrier unnecessary suffering by failing to treat or get it 'adequate'' veterinary treatment on January 25, 2017, the date it was seized by police at his home. The result shocked and angered animal rights campaigners. Campaigner Danny Barclay said: 'Recent polls show 84 per cent of people here want to see hunting live deer with dogs banned and 76pc want hunting foxes banned, with 54pc under the misapprehension it is already illegal here,' Danny said. 'Hunting is not pest control, it isn't man versus beast, and it isn't providing a service to the countryside. It is an abhorrent 'hobby' for those with a concerning bloodlust looking to revel in watching as an innocent animal is ripped to shreds.' Neil Pinkerton seen confronting a migrant man Neil Pinkerton seen confronting a migrant man The Sunday World can today reveal that Pinkerton has pulled the plug on cooperation with another anti-immigrant group run by fellow east Belfast man Steven Baker. Baker had called for a mass rally on Saturday afternoon outside the Chimney Corner Hotel on the outskirts of Glengormley. Baker accused the hotel of providing accommodation for dozens of migrants, who Baker claimed were soldiers. But Pinkerton (37) slammed some of those involved in organising the protest. He accused them of being publicity-mad and ego-driven. And late on Friday evening he posted the following notice on social media to publicly announce his group wouldn't be supporting the Chimney Corner demonstration: 'EBFT will not be attending the Chimney Corner Protest tomorrow, as it seems some egos are bigger than the movement. The movement is what we support NOT individuals.' Pinkerton's Division One group meet every night at Lewis Square off the Newtownards Road at around 10.30pm before heading out on a pedestrian patrol of the streets in the east of the city. Neil Pinkerton was charged with animal cruelty for this shocking image but managed to walk free from court Pinkerton was filmed challenging a black man sitting on a bench near the River Lagan. He aggressively ordered the individual – who was clearly in a state of fear – to leave the area immediately and not return. 'Hey boy, I don't want to catch you around our parks any more,' he told the man. 'Look at all the places there are in Belfast and yet you come over to our parks in east Belfast,' he said. And when the man asked Pinkerton for an explanation, he told him: 'Because you're not allowed to be hanging around our parks with our kids, do you understand?' Clearly in shock, the man explained that he wasn't working and had a lot of time on his hands. 'I don't do anything.' the man told Pinkerton But dismissing his explanation, Pinkerton told him: 'No more hanging about east Belfast okay?' In other footage members of Pinkerton's group can be heard demanding to see migrants' identity papers before ordering them off the streets. Pinkerton is well known in east Belfast where he purports to be a dog breeder specialising in XL Bullies and terriers. He allied with another east Belfast far-right anti-immigration activist, Steven Baker. Baker first came to public notice during the Covid crisis and he was convicted in court of contravening lockdown rules. Together Pinkerton and Baker established The Great Province-wide Protest NI, which they planned to turn into a mass anti-immigration movement. And they received support from loyalist Mark Sinclair, who also operates under the name of Freedom Dad. Loyalist Mark Sinclair However, six weeks ago the Sunday World revealed that Sinclair, from the Village area of south Belfast and a relative of Shankill Butchers killer Billy Moore, had been jailed for 17 years in Scotland for a string of bank robberies. On Thursday evening, Mark Sinclair accompanied members of the East Belfast Division One group as they paraded the streets of east Belfast after dark. He called on members of the public to join them. But after hearing a split had taken place between the two east Belfast anti-migrant factions, Sinclair was quick to distance himself. He said: 'I'll be going to the Chimney Corner demo, but I won't be reporting on it. I like loyalist groups to stay together.' It was reported that yesterday afternoon's Chimney Corner protest was poorly attended. Vigilantes prowling the streets of east Belfast The PSNI has condemned the vigilante patrols in east Belfast in the strongest possible terms. A senior officer called it 'racism, pure and simple'. Superintendent Gavin Kirkpatrick said: 'We are aware of a number of videos circulating on social media of men 'patrolling' east Belfast streets and confronting members of the public. 'I am very concerned about the actions of these groups. Their own videos show them stopping, searching and intimidating wholly innocent members of the public, apparently based on nothing more than the colour of their skin. It is racism, pure and simple. 'Such activity is not protecting this community. It is attempting to control it. 'I want to encourage anyone who has been confronted by these groups to come forward and report it to police. We will robustly deal with any offences reported to us. 'We will not tolerate any kind of vigilante activity and I caution anyone involved in any such 'patrolling' to stop. It is the responsibility of the Police Service to enforce the law in Northern Ireland,' he said. Supt Kirkpatrick added: 'In the coming days we will be deploying additional officers to east Belfast to provide reassurance to the public and monitor the activities of these groups.' Yesterday, we made attempts to speak with Neil Pinkerton and Steven Baker, but at the time of going to print neither of them had returned our calls. A loyalist source we spoke to said none of the paramilitary groups based in east Belfast were involved in the vigilante patrols. But a police source said he believed loyalists had given the groups 'tacit' support at the very least.
