Dad Nurul was found unconscious by his wife, Azura, with their baby lying under his arm on Thursday.
At first, Azura thought there had been a gas leak in the family's home in Melaka, in southern Malaysia, local media reports.
She told media: "I knew something was wrong even though there was no blood.
"My husband was unconscious and our baby, who was still breathing at that time, was pinned under his arm. However, our baby looked very weak and pale.'

Cases of infants dying from asphyxiation while sleeping or cuddling with a parent are sadly not unique.
Unintentional suffocation is the leading cause of injury death among infants under the age of one in the US, according to the National Institutes of Health.
It is not recommended to co-sleep with babies, especially if they were born premature or with a low birth weight, as per guidance from the NHS.
Falling asleep with a baby on a sofa or chair is said to greatly increase the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
Brit backpacker, 25, found dead in Malaysia one week after vanishing as his phone went dead & family flew out to find him
It comes as missing Brit backpacker Jordan Johnson-Doyle was found dead in Malaysia in early June.
Jordan, 25, from Southport, was last seen at a bar in capital Kuala Lumpur but then vanished - sparking a frantic search from family and police.
Jordan had been travelling around south-east Asia while working remotely for an American software company.
Malaysian police confirmed on June 5 that a body was found at the base of a lift shaft, and had been identified as Jordan.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Rusdi Mohd Isa said the force had "received information that a man was found lying on his back in the lift [shaft] on the ground floor of a construction site".
He added that the post-mortem examination revealed "the cause of death was a chest injury sustained from a fall from height".
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
A FCDO spokesperson said at the time that the Foreign Office was "supporting the family of a British man who died in Malaysia".

Worried cancer patients are flooding charity with calls asking whether fat jabs are safe to use

The rise in queries prompted the charity's Dr Owen Carter to urge caution before using the jabs FAT JAB QUERIES Worried cancer patients are flooding charity with calls asking whether fat jabs are safe to use Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) WORRIED cancer patients are flooding a charity with calls asking whether fat jabs are safe to use. Some of the concerns are being raised by those already having treatment such as chemo or hormone therapy. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up But others are fretting that using weight loss medication could increase their cancer risk. Other questions posed to Macmillan Cancer Support's helpline include asking if they were safe for someone who has had a previous thyroid cancer diagnosis, or before cancer surgery. Studies suggest the jabs might reduce the risk of some cancers but research is ongoing and they may not be safe for everyone. The rise in queries prompted the charity's Dr Owen Carter to urge caution before using the jabs. He said: 'Recently we have seen a noticeable increase in calls to Macmillan's support line and a flurry of messages on our online community about weight loss drugs. 'It's understandable that lots of people are interested in new drugs which accelerate weight loss, particularly if they want to manage their weight before or after treatment for cancer. 'While 'quick fixes' may seem attractive, we simply do not know enough about the long-term impact of these weight loss medications to recommend them if they're not prescribed by a specialist. 'Additionally, certain weight loss medications carry warnings about a potential link with thyroid cancer. 'However, we know that eating well and staying as active as possible are proven to help people feel better, increase their energy levels and strengthen their immune systems, which can help them to manage their weight and cope better with cancer treatment.' Eating well and staying active were better ways to increase energy levels and strengthen immune systems, which, in turn, would help manage weight and cope with treatment, he added. Major update on £450 a month benefit available to thousands of Scots

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) THE SCOTTISH Government has issued a major update on a £450 a month benefit that is available to thousands of adults. The Adult Disability Payment helps anyone who has a disability, terminal illness, or long-term health condition that affects their everyday life. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 Ministers have shared a major update on the benefit Credit: Getty It is open to Scots aged between 16 and state pension age, and the payment is made up of two parts. These are daily living and mobility, and people may qualify for one or both parts. Scots may qualify for the daily living part if you need help with things like preparing food, taking nutrition (eating and drinking), managing therapy or monitoring a health condition and washing and bathing. While the mobility part refers to whether you need help with planning and following a journey or moving around. Depending on which parts you qualify for, you could get anywhere between £116.80 and £441.60 a month. But now, the SNP has vowed not to cut the payment as Labour announced plans to slash overall welfare payments. It comes as ministers look to cut the increasing welfare bill by clawing back billions of pounds of benefits. On Wednesday, the UK Government revealed its plans to slash benefits further in the House of Commons. The new plans will see changes made to a number of different benefits - including personal independence payment (PIP) and universal credit. The criteria for PIP is expected to become stricter, while those on UC will see the sickness-related element cut. Millions hit by benefit cuts as Rachel Reeves warns 'if you can work, you should work!' in bid to fix 'broken system' UC will also not be issued to anyone until they reach 22 years of age. Most Scots who claim sickness benefits do so through the Adult Disability Payment, which is devolved, rather than through PIP. But the cuts mean that there is likely to be less money available for Scottish benefits. However, Social Justice Secretary Shirley-Anne Somerville promised that the Scottish Government "will not let disabled people down or cast them aside", according to the Daily Record. She said: "The reforms do not reflect the Scottish Government's values. "We will not let disabled people down or cast them aside as the UK Government has done. We will not cut Scotland's Adult Disability Payment. 'The UK Government should follow our lead and protect the social security safety system, rather than dismantling it. "If they do not, then disabled people can draw no other conclusion than the UK Government remain content to balance the books on the backs of the most vulnerable.' Ms Somerville also called the UK Government's plans "hugely damaging" to struggling adults, especially during the current cost of living crisis. Who can apply for Adult Disability Payment YOU must be between 16 and State Pension age to apply for this benefit. You may qualify for the daily living part if you need help with: preparing food taking nutrition (eating and drinking) managing therapy or monitoring a health condition washing and bathing managing toilet needs or incontinence dressing and undressing communicating verbally reading and understanding signs, symbols and words engaging socially with other people face to face making budgeting decisions You may qualify for the mobility part if you need help with planning and following a journey or moving around. Do not apply if you get Personal Independence Payment (PIP) or Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for adults. You would get these from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). You can apply for Adult Disability Payment if you: live in the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Gibraltar have spent a major part of your life in Scotland You need to apply for Adult Disability Payment even if you get Child Disability Payment. You can apply any time from when you are 15, soon to turn 16, until your 18th birthday. If your application is successful, you will not have any gaps between payments. Branding it a "damaging policy", she said, "I strongly urge them to scrap their harmful proposals." She added: "With around half of all children in poverty in Scotland living in a household with a disabled person, the changes threaten to undermine the progress that we are making to reduce child poverty, and the work of the UK Government's Child Poverty Taskforce. 'That the UK Government is prioritising deep cuts to disabled people's support is made even worse by their failure to abolish the two-child limit, which is estimated to have pushed more than 35,000 children into poverty since July last year." UK Work and Pensions Secretary Liz Kendall told the Daily Record: 'Our social security system is at a crossroads. Unless we reform it, more people will be denied opportunities, and it may not be there for those who need it. 'This legislation represents a new social contract and marks the moment we take the road of compassion, opportunity and dignity. 'This will give people peace of mind, while also fixing our broken social security system so it supports those who can work to do so while protecting those who cannot – putting welfare spending on a more sustainable path to unlock growth as part of our Plan for Change.'

With the mercury set to hit 33C this week, getting some decent shut-eye can become a challenge. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 4 Getting to sleep in the heat can be difficult Credit: Shutterstock But there are tricks you can try to help you nod off. Sleep specialist Heather Darwall-Smith, author of How To Be Awake (So You Can Sleep Through The Night), offers tips on kipping in a heatwave . . . BLOCK THE SUN: UK homes are designed to retain heat so you stay toasty in winter. But this can backfire when temperatures rise. To keep cool at night, block heat from bedrooms during the day. Heather says: 'The ideal ambient temperature for sleep is around 18C. 'Shutting blinds — ideally blackout ones — closing windows and drawing curtains by mid-morning can block sun out. At night, when it's cooler, you can open windows at opposite sides of your home to create a breeze tunnel.' BETTER BEDDING: Swap polyester sheets for thinner, breathable bedding such as cotton, linen and bamboo, which let air circulate and wick away moisture when body temperature rises. Heather says: 'Breathable materials improve heat dissipation. The 5 surprising reasons you might not be sleeping - and all are lurking in your home Polyester traps heat and moisture. If allergies allow, swap foam pillows for feathers as they are cooler.' KEEP PJs ON: It might seem contrary, but sleeping in the buff can be detrimental when it's hot. If you perspire heavily, being naked can lead to sweat remaining on the skin, which might actually raise your body temperature even further. 4 Sleeping naked is not the best idea when it's hot Credit: Getty Heather says: 'Sleep naked only if your sheets are breathable. Otherwise, loose, comfortable cotton pyjamas can help wick sweat away.' COOL YOUR CORE: Lowering your body's core temperature before bed can help set you up for a much better sleep. Heather advises: 'Try a lukewarm shower about an hour before bed. 4 Try having a lukewarm shower about an hour before bed Credit: Getty "This supports the body's natural temperature drop as it triggers your body to cool itself more effectively. 'Avoid freezing water or ice baths. "Cooling sprays with menthol from supermarkets can trick your brain into feeling colder. "Apply to pulse points like wrists.' HANDY HACKS: Use quick, cooling techniques in bed to lower your temperature instantly. Heather says: 'Try flipping your pillow when it heats up as temperature differences on the cooler side can cue the body for sleep. 'Or put a damp flannel in the fridge before bed and drape it over your chest or forehead. "Freeze soft toys wrapped in plastic bags for children to cuddle.' GET MOVING: If you have a downstairs room, try sleeping there — or on the floor, where it may be cooler. Heather says: 'Sleeping lower to the ground can help, as heat rises.' ADD ICE: Most UK homes don't have air conditioning, but you can make your own using a basic fan. 4 Put a bowl of ice cubes in front of a fan to make it more effective Credit: Getty Fill a bowl with ice cubes and put it in front of a fan so air blows over the ice. As it melts, chilled air will circulate the room. Or place a large bottle of frozen water covered with a damp towel in the air stream.
