Aamir Khan To Return To Iconic Lagaan Village For THIS Special Reason
Aamir Khan returns to the iconic Lagaan village near Bhuj for a special screening of Sitaare Zameen Par, now streaming on YouTube via his channel.
Aamir Khan's Lagaan is one of his most loved films to date, and now the actor is returning to a village near Bhuj, the place where he shot the Oscar-nominated film over two decades ago. This time, the actor returns for a special screening of his latest blockbuster Sitaare Zameen Par, bringing with him not just nostalgia, but also a new wave of storytelling.
The screening is part of a heartfelt initiative by Khan to bring cinema closer to the people. The film, which has already earned widespread praise across India, is now available for audiences on YouTube under a pay-per-view model. Proudly referring to the platform as 'Janta Ka Theatre," Khan emphasises the democratisation of film access, particularly for audiences in rural and remote regions.

Aamir Khan Productions has proudly presented 10 rising stars: Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar. Directed by R. S. Prasanna, who previously helmed the barrier-breaking blockbuster Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, he now returns with his biggest collaboration yet, Sitaare Zameen Par under Aamir Khan Productions.
Made under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, Sitaare Zameen Par stars Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh in lead roles, along with 10 rising stars. The lyrics are penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, and the music is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The screenplay is written by Divy Nidhi Sharma. The film is produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit, with B. Shrinivas Rao and Ravi Bhagchandka as producers. Directed by R. S. Prasanna, the film was released in theatres on June 20, 2025.
Aamir Khan and his team launched a new YouTube channel a few months ago named Aamir Khan Talkies. Recently, at a special event, the actor revealed that he named the channel Aamir Khan Talkies because he always intended to release his films on the platform.
'This was the reason why I did not give away the rights of my film Sitaare Zameen Par, as this plan was already in motion. Our plan is to release every film under the Aamir Khan Productions banner on YouTube, after they complete their theatrical run. Each movie will be available at a minimal cost of ₹100," said Aamir, while speaking about his channel, which already has over three lakh subscribers.
