THINK Gas expands LNG footprint with strategic launch of 6 new dispensing stations

Hyderabad, May 19 (UNI) THINK Gas, India's leading City Gas Distribution (CGD) company, is accelerating country's transition towards low-emission transport for long-haul heavy duty truck mobility with the strategic rollout of 3 (three) new LNG filling hubs/points after the successful operation of its flagship LNG station at Bagroda, Bhopal.
As a merged CGD entity of AG&P Pratham and THINK Gas, now operating under the THINK Gas brand, the 3 new LNG fuelling hubs/points, strategically located to serve long-haul mobility, will be in Anantapur, Nellore (in Andhra Pradesh), and Vallam (in Tamil Nadu's Kanchipuram District), and are expected to be operational by September '25.
In addition, 3 more LNG fuelling hubs/points will become operational by December 2025, reinforcing the company's focus on long-haul clean mobility infrastructure', the company said in a release on Monday.
THINK Gas is integrating the new LNG hubs with its well-established LCNG Stations (Liquefied to Compressed Natural Gas), allowing for seamless distribution, enhanced infrastructure utilisation, and efficient service delivery to fleet operators and logistics providers.
Abhilesh Gupta, Managing Director and CEO, THINK Gas said 'The addition of 6 new LNG filling hubs/points at our existing LCNG Stations marks a major milestone in our mission to accelerate the adoption of low-emission fuels in the heavy commercial vehicle segment and also drives economic growth by providing fleet operators with cost-effective fuel'
'We currently operate 18 LCNG stations across our authorised geographical areas and these stations are now being equipped with LNG dispensing capabilities to support the growing demand for long-haul, low-emission transport solutions," he said.
India is aiming to boost Natural Gas's share in its energy mix from 6 percent to 15 percent by 2030 in line with the Prime Minister of India's vision, and scalable LNG infrastructure will be the bedrock of that transition. With supportive government policies, increasing OEM participation, and mounting pressure on the logistics sector to decarbonize, fleet operators are rapidly transitioning from diesel to LNG, drawn by its cleaner emissions profile and compelling operating economics.
THINK Gas operates India's largest LNG carrier fleet, comprising 61 specialized transport trucks that ensure a reliable, nationwide supply of clean fuel. Backed by a strong logistics backbone and 18 operational LCNG stations, the company is uniquely positioned to serve long-haul freight corridors and key industrial hubs with efficiency and scale.
This newly announced infrastructure push will enable LNG-powered vehicles to seamlessly refuel across key national routes, reducing dependence on traditional fuels while cutting emissions significantly, the release added.

Kamalam cultivation key to Viksit Krishi: Shivraj Singh Chouhan

Bengaluru, June 8 (UNI) Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday said that high-income, low-input crops like dragon fruit (Kamalam) are crucial for building a "Viksit Krishi" (developed agriculture) model that supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a developed India by 2047. Standing amidst rows of dragon fruit plants on farmer Muniraj's field in Bengaluru Rural district, Chouhan hailed the crop as a symbol of modern, sustainable farming. "Dragon fruit is an organic, cactus-family fruit that requires no chemical sanitizers and thrives on cow dung manure. It resists disease naturally, cutting input costs while delivering strong economic returns," he told reporters. The minister noted that farmers can start earning ₹2–3 lakh from the very first year of cultivation, with earnings rising to ₹8–10 lakh from the second year. "By the third year, when the plant reaches full production, a farmer can net ₹6–7 lakh annually. This is the future of Indian agriculture — high profit, low input, health-positive," Chouhan asserted. He pointed out that such models align with the Prime Minister's goal of making India a developed nation by 2047. "For a developed India, we need developed agriculture and prosperous farmers. Diversification into crops like Kamalam is not just an option — it is a necessity," he said. Chouhan also emphasised the health benefits of dragon fruit, highlighting its high nutrient content and organic nature. "These crops offer threefold benefits: they are chemical-free, they improve human health, and they offer superior returns compared to traditional farming, where annual savings often don't exceed ₹1 lakh," he said. Calling upon farmers across the country to embrace agricultural diversification, Chouhan said, "Let us move together towards Viksit Krishi. The journey to Viksit Bharat begins from the soil." Atria Renewabic launches rooftop solar campaign

Bengaluru, June 7 (UNI) Atria Renewabic, a frontrunner in India's renewable energy sector, on Saturday launched a unique community-centric rooftop solar campaign aimed at accelerating solar adoption in Bengaluru's residential neighbourhoods. Branded under the theme "Bangalore Deserves Better", the initiative seeks to create micro-clusters of solar adopters by encouraging group-based rooftop installations that offer both cost efficiency and collective environmental impact. The campaign specifically targets homeowners and Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), leveraging the power of trusted community networks. Speaking at the launch, CS Sunder Raju, Chairman and Director of Atria Group, said, "At Atria, we have always believed in the power of clean energy to drive meaningful change — not just at the individual level, but at the community level. This campaign is designed to foster a collective movement that makes solar energy more accessible and affordable." Highlighting the urgency of climate action, Raju added, "Climate change is real, and it is perilous to assume someone else will fix it. Through shared adoption models like micro-clusters, and with the support of government schemes such as the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, we aim to empower Bengaluru's citizens to act now." The PM Surya Ghar Yojana offers subsidies of up to ₹78,000 for rooftop solar adoption, a factor expected to boost participation in Atria's new campaign. Founded in 1960, Atria was the first private player in India to harness hydropower and has since diversified into solar and wind energy. The company has dedicated over two decades to building sustainable solutions that impact both energy and community development. The rooftop solar market in India is poised for robust expansion. According to Mordor Intelligence's India Rooftop Solar Market Report, installed capacity is expected to rise from 17.6 GW in 2025 to 41.52 GW by 2030, reflecting a CAGR of 18.73%. Urban hubs like Bengaluru are projected to lead this growth, offering immense potential for companies like Atria. With this new campaign, Atria aims to harness the spirit of community action and environmental responsibility, setting a blueprint for sustainable urban living. UNI BDN BM
