Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL) announced on July 16, 2025, that it has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, confirming it as the preferred bidder for the Jhandawali–Satipura Amalgamated Potash and Halite Block in Rajasthan.
The LoI was issued under Rule 18(1) of the Mineral Auction Rules, 2015, following an e-auction conducted by the ministry. The block, located in Hanumangarh district, Rajasthan, spans an area of approximately 1,841.25 hectares and will be granted to HZL as a composite license (covering both prospecting and mining).
This acquisition is aligned with HZL's strategy to diversify into other minerals and expand its resource base beyond zinc and lead.
The company had earlier intimated about its bid through a letter dated May 28, 2025, and the receipt of the LoI marks the next step toward operationalizing this resource.

Oberoi Realty Block Deal: 1.11 crore shares worth Rs 1,961 crore change hands, as stock fall 4% today

Oberoi Realty shares were in focus on Tuesday morning after a massive block trade worth nearly ₹1,961.4 crore took place on the BSE. According to exchange data, about 1,11,31,361 shares of Oberoi Realty changed hands at a price of ₹1,762.05 per share, marking a significant institutional transaction. The deal was executed at a slight discount to the stock's previous close of ₹1,826.20 on Monday, which aligns with earlier reports suggesting a floor price in the ₹1,753–1,762 range, representing a ~4% discount. The transaction is believed to be a clean-up trade by an existing institutional investor, allowing them to exit their stake completely. CNBC-TV18 had reported earlier that a block deal worth around $230 million (~₹1,920 crore) was likely to be executed in Oberoi Realty today, with the identity of the seller remaining undisclosed. Shares of Oberoi Realty opened lower following the deal and were seen trading down about 3–4% as market participants digested the large supply of shares hitting the market. Goldman Sachs was reportedly the banker to the deal, and Invesco Developing Markets Fund was speculated to be the seller, as per media reports. Market watchers now await clarity on the buyers of the stake and further updates from the company or the exchanges. BOJ's Uchida warns of downside risks to economy on trade uncertainty

By Leika Kihara KOCHI, Japan (Reuters) -Bank of Japan Deputy Governor Shinichi Uchida said on Wednesday that risks to economic activity and prices were skewed to the downside due to "extremely high" uncertainty over trade policy and its effect on domestic and overseas growth. The BOJ will continue to raise its policy interest rate if the economy and prices move in line with its projections, Uchida said in a speech. But Uchida said the central bank will scrutinise "without any preconceptions" whether its projections will materialise due to a lack of clarity on how U.S. trade policy unfolds, and affects the global economy and markets. If some progress is made in U.S. President Donald Trump's trade negotiations with other countries, Japanese companies will likely enjoy strong profits and continue hiking wages, he said. "But if the negative impact of tariff policies turns out to be greater or more prolonged than expected, the wage-hike trend seen in the past few years could weaken," Uchida said. "The BOJ needs to adjust monetary policy to best balance upside and downside risks from the perspective of maintaining economic and price stability," he added. Sign in to access your portfolio

BOJ's Deputy Chief Signals No Rush to Hike Rate After Trade Deal

Bank of Japan Deputy Governor Shinichi Uchida indicated there's little immediate need to raise the benchmark interest rate in a speech delivered shortly after US President Donald Trump announced a trade deal with Japan. 'Under the premise that the outlook for economic activity and prices comes with uncertainty, the bank needs to adjust monetary policy to best balance the upside and downside risks from the perspective of maintaining stability in economic activity and prices,' Uchida said Wednesday in remarks to local business leaders in Kochi, southwestern Japan.
