Nintendo's Switch 2 arrives on June 5 and preorders are largely sold out, but a few unexpected retailers say they will have the gaming handheld in stock.
Costco now has a dedicated page for the Switch 2, which says the console will be available for purchase on June 5. You can buy one unit per week, provided you have a Costco membership.
The store was not part of last month's preorder blitz. A note on its Switch 2 listing says, "This product is expected to be in stock and available for purchase soon. Check back again later."
Costco's website also only lists the Mario Kart World bundle at the moment. There's no price on Costco.com, but the bundle has been going for $499.99 for the Switch 2 console, Mario Kart World game, and 12 months of Nintendo Switch Online. The standalone Switch 2 costs $449.99.
There's no guarantee that the stock will be available at your local Costco. "Item may be available in your local warehouse, prices may vary," the website says.
If you're unable to get the console from Costco on launch day, there are a few other retailers you can try. Staples, GameStop, Best Buy, and Target are expected to have additional stock.
On the other hand, if you preordered the console, check your order as some users are seeing their purchases get canceled without reason.

Making Sense of Q2 Earnings Expectations
We count the Costco COST and AutoZone AZO releases for their respective fiscal quarters ending in May as part of our June-quarter tally. As such, the AutoZone and Costco quarterly reports have kicked off the Q2 earnings season for us, even though we still have a few Q1 earnings releases to await. In fact, by the time the big banks put the spotlight on the Q2 reporting cycle by releasing their June-quarter results on July 14th, we will have seen such May-quarter results from more than two dozen S&P 500 members. Costco handily beat consensus estimates for earnings, revenues, and same-store sales (comps). Same-store sales for the quarter were up +8%, excluding gasoline and the impact of foreign exchange fluctuations. This follows +9.1% comp growth in the preceding period relative to estimates of +6.3%. Of particular significance is the high single-digit comp growth in Costco's non-food merchandise, which can be compared to the discretionary or general merchandise categories at other retailers, such as Walmart and Target. A significant part of Costco's discretionary strength likely reflects the retailer's high-income customer base, but it is also likely gaining market share in these product categories. Costco continues to execute well despite the tariff challenges. Management reiterated on the call that merchandise at the domestic business is mostly sourced from within the U.S., with only about a quarter of Costco U.S. sales dependent on imports. Looking beyond Costco and AutoZone, the expectation is for Q2 earnings for the S&P 500 index to increase by +5.4% from the same period last year on +3.7% higher revenues. This will be a material deceleration from the +12% earnings growth in Q1 on +4.7% revenue growth. We have been regularly flagging in recent weeks that 2025 Q2 earnings estimates have been steadily decreasing, as shown in the chart below. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research The magnitude of cuts to 2025 Q2 estimates since the start of the period is bigger and more widespread relative to what we have become used to seeing in the post-COVID period. Since the start of April, Q2 estimates have declined for 15 of the 16 Zacks sectors (Aerospace is the only sector whose estimates have increased), with the largest cuts to the Transportation, Autos, Energy, Basic Materials, and Construction sectors. Estimates for the Tech and Finance sectors, the largest contributors to the S&P 500 index, which account for more than 50% of all index earnings, have also been cut since the quarter began. But as we have been pointing out in recent weeks, the revisions trend for the Tech sector has notably stabilized, which you can see in the chart below. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research We see this same trend at play in annual estimates as well. The chart below shows the Tech sector's evolving earnings expectations for full-year 2025 Image Source: Zacks Investment Research A likely explanation for this stabilization in the revisions trend is the easing in the tariff uncertainty after the more punitive version of the tariff regime was delayed. Analysts started revising their estimates lower in the immediate aftermath of the early April tariff announcements, but appear to have since concluded that those punitive tariff levels are unlikely to get levied, helping stabilize the revisions trend. The chart below shows current Q2 earnings and revenue growth expectations in the context of the preceding 5 quarters and the coming two quarters. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research The chart below shows the overall earnings picture on a calendar-year basis. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research The Q1 Earnings Scorecard As we noted earlier, the Q1 earnings season isn't over yet. Through Friday, May 30th, we have seen Q1 results from 490 S&P 500 members or 98% of the index's total membership. Total earnings for these 490 index members that have reported results are up +11.9% from the same period last year on +4.8% revenue gains, with 74.1% of the companies beating EPS estimates and 63.3% beating revenue estimates. The comparison charts below put the Q1 earnings and revenue growth rates for these index members in a historical context. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research The comparison charts below put the Q1 EPS and revenue beats percentages in a historical context. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research As you can see here, the EPS and revenue beats percentages are tracking below historical averages, with the Q1 EPS beats percentage of 74.1% comparing to the average for the same group of 78.4% over the preceding 20-quarter period (5 years). The Q1 revenue beats percentage of 63.3% compares to the 5-year average for this group of index members of 71.2%.Want the latest recommendations from Zacks Investment Research? Costco Defies Tariff Volatility as Other Retailers Stumble
Costco Wholesale Corp. posted better-than-expected earnings in the third quarter, a sign that the nation's largest club chain is flexing its scale and devoted following to navigate tariffs and other forces of economic turbulence. The retailer said it generated earnings per share of $4.28 for the quarter ended May 11, above what Wall Street analysts were expecting. The metric suggests that Costco is growing its business even as consumers prioritize necessities to save money. Burt Flickinger, Managing Director of Strategic Resource Group, reacts to Costco's earnings and examines the health of other key players in the retail sector, including Walmart, The Gap and Ulta Beauty. Burt speaks with Carol Massar and Tim Stenovec on Bloomberg Businessweek Daily. (Source: Bloomberg)

Your Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order may have been cancelled with no explanation
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Quick Summary Some customers have had their Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders cancelled without any warning. UK retailer Game has informed some buyers that not only will their Switch 2 console will not arrive on launch day, their early orders have been scrapped entirely. It is also yet to provide an explanation why. The Nintendo Switch 2 will finally be available next week, with consoles shipping for the 5 June 2025 release date. However, not everyone will get their pre-orders, it seems. One retailer has cancelled some of its Switch 2 pre-orders, with no explanation as to why. Game in the UK has informed several of its customers that their early orders of Nintendo's new machine will no longer be fulfilled. It has sent them cancellation notices and simply posted an apology on its X feed without further details. "We sincerely apologise for the recent cancellation of some Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders," it reads (via the BBC). "We understand how disappointing this is, especially for those who have been eagerly awaiting their order." There is some good news for some of those who have ordered, though – Game is trying to reinstate their purchases. "We're currently working hard to reinstate as many affected pre-orders as possible." It goes on to say that it will be in touch with updates. There's seemingly no guarantee this will happen before launch day – if at all. Although Game doesn't explain why it has cancelled orders – such as the one placed by disgruntled X user @nomad_ebp – there are two trains of thought: it either hasn't received enough stock to fulfil all of its orders in time, or there has been a technical error in the pre-ordering process. The latter is backed up by the retailer's comment that it's trying to reinstate affected orders, although it clearly does still have a record of each purchase as it has informed each customer individually. It's more likely that it over-estimated its pre-order stock levels. Nintendo had previously promised to manufacture more stock in order to beat the scalpers, but considering just how much demand there has been for the Switch 2, even it might have been taken by surprise. We haven't yet heard of other retailers cancelling their pre-orders, while some have promised (in the UK, at least) to reserve some units for purchase on day one. You'll likely have to queue early in the morning though, as it's unlikely they'll be available for long. In the meantime, you can check T3's Switch 2 stock updates for the UK and US to find out where best to place your orders.
