Next Wave Beach Music Festival is back to make waves in July, with Itzy and Chung Ha headlining
This will mark their third festival in Hong Kong and, as ever, will feature both local and international acts. The Saturday lineup includes Hong Kong's own Kaho Hung, Taiwanese king of romantic ballads Eric Chou, rapper Gummy B, Taiwanese singers Patti Tsai and Kelly Cheng, and experimental pop group I'mdifficult from Taipei.
Sunday's itinerary is even more star-studded, with K-pop girl group Itzy headlining, along with Chung Ha, Korean rock band Dragon Pony, and relatively new South Korean-Taiwanese girl group Genblue. Mark your calendars for July 5 to 6, kicking off from 3.30pm at Discovery Bay.
Ticket sales open on June 5, with general admission costing $788 and first-class tickets going for $988. The first-class experience includes a VIP area that's closer to the stage, exclusive bathrooms, a free waterproof bag, and a special security check with bag drop service. Aside from the music, the last couple of years of Next Wave have also included large-scale water slides, art installations, food and shopping stalls, and even yachts for rent – we're excited to see what this year will bring.

Korean frozen yoghurt chain Yoajung to open in Singapore with toppings like Dubai chocolate and honeycomb
The froyo craze in Singapore is officially back in full swing. Australian frozen yoghurt chain Yo-Chi broke the internet when it opened its first international outlet in Orchard Central, with waiting times stretching up to an hour over its opening weekend. Come September, we'll have another froyo spot in town to hit up: Yoajung, South Korea's famous frozen yoghurt chain, will be debuting its first Singapore store at Scape on September 5. Yoajung currently has 350 outlets across Hong Kong, Shanghai, and most recently, Sydney. The brand is also endorsed by K-Pop celebrities like Jay Park, NMIXX and RIIZE. The Singapore store is expected to offer three yoghurt bases: the signature yoghurt ice cream, low-sugar yoghurt ice cream and Greek yoghurt as a healthier option. If it's anything like the Korean menu, acai bowls might also be available. While there aren't any crazy yoghurt flavours like salted butterscotch or cookies and cream here, Yoajung's unique array of toppings is what makes it such a hit in Korea. Think slabs of honeycomb, banana brulée, dalgona, cheesecake cubes, and even a Dubai chocolate-inspired topping. Other picks include popping candy, tanghulu and brown sugar mochi. And since it's a Korean brand, you can even expect popular Korean fruits like Shine Muscat grapes. Yoajung also does a special 'shell' topping, where the tip of the yoghurt is dipped into sauces like chocolate or strawberry. Spoilt for choice? There are several signature combinations on the menu that'll save you the hassle of choosing. One thing to note is that while Yo-Chi is a fully self-serve experience where cups are charged by weight, Yoajung uses a more standard pricing model with fixed prices for toppings – similar to Llao Llao and Yolé in Singapore. ‘Wall-to-wall action' spy thriller shoots up Amazon Prime Video top 10 ranking
Just days after Amazon Prime Video dropped Butterfly, the tale of international espionage has been climbing the streamer's top 10 ranking of film and TV. Set in the bustling South Korean city of Seoul, the six-part drama stars Daniel Dae Kim (of Lost and The Good Doctor) as the semi-retired gun-for-hire David Jung. Now sitting at the third spot on Amazon Prime, the show kicks off in a high-end hotel, where a visiting politician is under surveillance for a bold assassination attempt (think Day of the Jackal vibe) which is being organised by a shady and deep-pocketed private intelligence agency. The young assassin on the job is Rebecca, played by Reina Hardesty. Next on her kill list is the rogue and not-really-retired agent David, who's highly trained in field work. Adapted from a graphic novel by Arash Amel and Marguerite Bennett, it turns out that David and Rebecca are known to one another. The former intelligence agent is on a mission to protect his wife and daughter, while also reckoning with an incident from his past that comes back to haunt him. Ominous stuff. 'A central question in our entire season is, 'Who can you trust?',' Kim told USA Today. 'And just because they're family, can you trust them? The ending to our season really speaks to that question.' Kim was an executive producer on the show and has already teased what they could tackle with a second season, saying there's 'a lot more story to tell, and there are places for all of our characters to go that I find really intriguing'. He added: 'So let's hope people like it enough to make that happen.' So far so good on that front. The show has totted up a 71% rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, with several positive write-ups to its name. More Trending Collider praised the 'wall-to-wall action' in the show, while The AV Club wrote: 'With a tight focus and impressive performances, Butterfly's basic spycraft story feels both elevated and entertaining.'
